hey season 2, give me osomatsu’s redemption arc

last season a common thread throughout was the guys finding a job and particularly focused on choromatsu, he had a loose character arc that spanned a few episodes about his rising/job-hunting and i don’t think anyone would disagree that he had the most screentime and focused skits.

now in s2 we have osomatsu and there seems to be a reoccurring theme that he is both terrified of being alone (the first ep, and his inner thoughts in the iyami housesitting ep) and is a total piece of shit, and that more than ever his brothers are totally over it. like job-hunting and choromatsu, this season seems to be pointing towards “properness” and osomatsu.

i know by now not to expect anything from this show, but i think it would be very satisfying for all of these little moments to subtly add up towards the finale the same way choromatsu’s “arc” did. i know osomatsu will always be a horny little golddigger (and i love him that way), but i’m hopeful there’s some thoughtfulness behind this sudden microscope put on his personality.

Magi is ending in this week’s issue. I had a lot of fun writing about the Magi world during those long eight years. There were times that I felt I was incompetent, but I’ll be glad if you enjoyed it, even a little. I think Shounen mangas are the kind of things that those who read them forget about with time as they become adults. However, during those busy days, I remembered them all of a sudden and they fill me with courage. I wish if Magi becomes something like that for you and that from now on, the Magi characters are going to be by your side!

I thank everyone who sent me letters and messages as we were nearing the final chapter. I read them while thinking ‘I’m glad that I became a manga author’. I’m going to treasure them.

This is also the last backstage update, but I hope we meet again!
