The MCA is an innovative and compelling center of contemporary art where the public can directly experience the work and ideas of living artists.

Happy #InternationalCatDay! "Felix" by artist Maurizio Cattelan is inspired by SUE the Tyrannosaurus Rex at the @fieldmuseum. In supersizing a benign house cat skeleton, and thereby creating a powerful even potentially unsettling artwork, Cattelan invites viewers to enjoy fantasy more than truth. Catch this piece as part of The Freedom Principle: Experiments in Art and Music, 1965 to Now before it closes this weekend!

The Freedom Principle: Experiments in Art and Music, 1965 to Now links the vibrant legacy of the 1960s African American avant-garde to current art and culture. It is occasioned in part by the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians (AACM), of which Wadsworth Jarrell was a member. A still-flourishing organization of Chicago, the AACM still brings musicians whose interdisciplinary explorations expanded the boundaries of jazz together.
