HAHD Seattle - Sept. and Oct. Wrap-Up

A huge thank you to our volunteers who have helped us have two fantastic events with City Fruit!

In September, we helped to direct traffic at the Festival of Fruit.

In October, our fantastic team helped remove the insect nets and harvest apples from four trees.

The fruit harvested will be donated to local food banks in the Seattle area.

Thank you again to our incredible volunteers! We’ll be taking a break for November, but stay tuned for more information about International Have a Hart Day soon.

IHAHD Seattle: December Event

Happy #InternationalHaveaHartDay! Thanks for coming out and helping us fight hunger! 15 volunteers plus 20 others sorted over 13 pallets of food, totaling more than 5,000 lbs and 3,846 meals! The Tukwila Pantry isn’t usually blessed with more than 3-10 volunteers per shift, so we were able to help clean and organize things they don’t usually get to work on as well as helping with the distribution of food in their pantry.

If you are interested in volunteering with them, please visit their website or show up T/Th/Sa from 9-12! It’s always refreshing to see how Starbucks helps out with their donated Mercato food. Thanks again and be on the look out for our next event post. We’re planning on Saturday, January 6th. Video will be up ASAP as well.
