She felt warm. Happy. It was kind of a fleeting feeling, before, when he wasn’t here. Yes, she’d laughed and smiled and had good days, but it was nothing like this now. Nothing at all like when he was here.
The very thought that Caleb might have to leave again was a terrifying one and it was with relief that she kissed him again, lips firmly pressed to his. He was staying and she couldn’t be happier at that.
When the kiss ended, CJ gave him a little smirk and a shrug. “Well, I don’t like to give threats, on principle–so it’s a promise. Yes.” Her fingers laced with his. “When was the last time you caught me rambling?” Probably forever ago. Probably never. It really didn’t matter. She would gladly accept a kiss in lieu of ‘shut up’.
“We can go to my apartment,” she offered. “And we can walk through the park on our way there. That secluded enough for you?” She tugged lightly on his hand and began to lead him down the sidewalk.
He didn’t want the moment to end. He was hanging on to her every word. Yet he knew that even a great thing such as this needed a pausing point.
Caleb chuckled. She was right, of course she was right, she never rambled. That was always his area of expertise as they might word it. “Fair. But I know you love to ramble about books as much as I. Unless I’m remembering wrong.”
He offered a warm smile in return. Holding tight to her hand he followed where she lead. “Your apartment? Right, I forgot you had one.” Caleb had been so used to dorm or ship living that even something as simple as an apartment escaped him. Yes he had lived in a home when he was younger, but the latest adventures took him from there. “That’s plenty secluded. I get to look at the gorgeous scenery on the way there.” Caleb stated while looking at the back of her head. He knew it was worth it in the end. He finally got to come back to her. “Though I still prefer you close.” He tugged slightly on their linked hands to pull her back to walking beside him. He didn’t want her leaving his side, not now. And if he could help it, not ever.
“You live by yourself now or still with your uncle?”

"Well look what the cat dragged in! Violet Tam, look at you!"
“Gee… thanks…” Violet was drenched from the rain. “Any help so I can stop looking like a drowned rat?”
Ella had to laugh at the sight of her friend; any good friend would. “Sure, come on. Take your shoes off and I’ll grab some towels.”

Violet waited as she watched him see if anything was under the giant spinny wheel. “You see?” Her hopes were raised as she anxiously waited. “You have Teddy?”
With a grunt and a little effort Connor managed to dislodge the bear from under the roundabout. He heard a seam tear and when he pulled the toy out it’s arm was dangling by a thread but not completely detached. “There,” he said as he handed the toy over to the little girl. “Is that better?”
the-mini-miss-shiny:
Violet bit her lip, breathing to force herself to think before commenting to him. “Caleb is on his own path. My parents have jobs. I’m old enough to leave. I’m willing to bet that if you asked them they would say I could go. I’m not…. I’m not the little girl anymore.” She gave him a look when he mentioned home being safer….. “I’m aware. But how am I not safe around you? Teach me then. I want to be with you. I don’t like all this waiting.”
She wanted to be with him and Connor knew that she meant forever. His brow was still furrowed, creased in a brood and he rubbed at his neck as he thought on her words. It wasn’t that he didn’t think her parents would let her go. It was more that he thought they shouldn’t. He sighed as he thought through their options. “We’ll try it…” he finally agreed. “One test run, I choose which mission, and you’ll come with me.” He thought that was fair enough. “After some training.” He added with a note of finality.
//Hi dearies. I missed you all. I'm still trying to figure out how to get the writing muse back. While most of it happens now on discord, I decided to come back to tumblr via mobile to have access to chatting so I can talk to my friends and fellow rpers and muns that I miss. Hope everyone is doing alright.
See you around the dash.
//I promise I’m alive. Though I’m mostly on discord or focused on school. At this rate I am going to be on hiatus here for a while. My life is about to get complicated. All my blogs will be hiatus. Apologies. Stay Shiny Dearies.
“I don’t know what I would do if something happened to you.” - CJ to Caleb
“Ow.... CJ....” Caleb let out a sigh. He knew she was trying to be gentle. “I said I’m alright. I can patch myself up. It’s nothing that ice packs and sleep can’t fix.” Yes it was Caleb’s fault but he really shouldn’t have been left alone... with the tree. Leave it to Caleb to smack his head on the lone branch and then trip on the roots and hurt his knees.
“Stop making this into a big deal.” He winced as the ice packs had to shift. “I’ll be fine.”

//I’m being introduced to West World tv series.... my tinkering muse might be gaining a verse soon..... Le sigh... Violet, you and your curiosities.
The kiss was like coming home. It was like a birthday surprise. It was starry skies and winning a race and the thrill of an engine rumbling to life. It was that and more. She didn’t want it to end. Eventually, it did. A soft breath passed between her parted, wet lips. His arms were around her and it felt.. right. It felt good.
Gods, she’d missed him.
At his grin, she grinned too. CJ drew back a bit and put a small amount of space between them—but not enough that she was out of his arms, but enough so she could look at his face. “Well, not as much as sometimes, but I can just… kiss you again to stop you, if that happens again. So… keep that in mind.”
Caleb smiled down at her. He was glad that she didn’t pull too far from him. He was.... content. All of this and CJ in his arms made him happy and content. Though it was probably a lot better to feel this in a room where it was just them two, it didn’t feel wrong to have the feeling now. Caleb was still slightly oblivious to the other world. His world, CJ, was right where he wanted. In his arms.
A nervous chuckle turned into a cough. “That... that....” His smile turned into a dopey grin. “That a threat or a promise?” Caleb pulled CJ close again to peck her lips. “Cause I can do that too.” He slowly started to loosen his grip to hold CJ’s hands.
“Should we catch up where all eyes on us is not an option? Please?” He couldn’t see anyone but the feeling from the bookstore was still lingering. “Is there a place to go?”
Eyes followed them even to the door. CJ held her head high and ignored them. Once they were outside, she could breath. The air was cool, crisp, and she took in a deep breath. What was it she wanted to say, exactly? There were plenty of things to ask, to know, but none of them came to mind.
She looked to Caleb from the corner of her eye as he began to talk and ramble. She pressed her lips together, teeth snagging the bottom one just briefly. He’d thought of her. He’d neglected his schoolwork because of her. Something in that statement made her heart jump just a little bit—in a pleased sort of way.
And it did it again, when he said the word ‘love’. For a second, it seemed she was staring straight into a tunnel, where all sound drowned out and there was only one singular focus. She stopped walking and blinked rapidly.
CJ had known her feelings for him long ago, and a part of her had known he cared about her, had loved her in some way. Hearing it was an entirely different matter. It rendered her speechless. Without waiting, she faced him and cupped his face. She pulled him in for a kiss—more show than there, but the sentiment was definitely reciprocated.
Caleb watched her face after he had spoke, hoping for any reaction, any clue that his feeling and words weren’t in vain. He was thankful that they were ouside during his ramble. He was more thankful that his reaction to search for a response would only be seen by her. He felt his heart pounding in his chest in anticipation of an answer. Any noise. Any sound. Any gesture. Anything.
When CJ stopped them from walking Caleb paid closer attention to her. Had he said something wrong? Was he too forward? Did he ramble to much? Did he---
His mind stopped as CJ commanded his attention by kissing him. Caleb kissed her back, understanding that she felt the same. After a time he pulled back. He didn’t even try to figure out when he had put his arms around her during the kiss. It felt right to hold her in his arms again. He was grinning.
His smile turned bashful as his ears turned pink. His gaze looking slightly at the ground, wanting to make sure of everything. “I’m guessing I didn’t ramble too much this time....”
When had her hand gone to his chest and at what point did her fingers curl into his shirt? She must’ve missed that and she rarely missed anything. It was a powerful kiss—not like a passionate lip lock like she’d seen in movies or tv shows, but still. It was like a realization, a comfort, something she hadn’t known she’d been missing. It was like home.
She barely heard the murmurings from the crowd, but her cheeks tinged red even so. She could still taste him on her lips.
“Do you…?” she stared to ask, then rephrased it. “Come on. Let’s get out of here. We don’t need an audience.” With her hand in his, CJ stood and began for the door.
Caleb let his hand drop down from where it rested on her waist, the other still holding her hand. He knew there were people watching them in full force now. The sounds earlier had confirmed it. Despite his nerves, he made no move to run or leave. His tether, CJ, was back and by his side.
The words that formed in his throat got swallowed back as he nodded in agreement. He could feel the embarrassment from the crowd yet didn’t feel ashamed at having kissed her back.
It wasn’t until they were out the door and a little way away that he was able to find his voice again. “CJ.... I never could forget you when I was gone. You were always on my mind. Sometimes more than the homework I had to do.” He let out a nervous chuckle. “That... that’s why it took me a bit longer.” Caleb knew he didn’t owe her an explanation but the ramble came out.
“I was so in love with you back then that when we lost touch, my focus on my grades and work slipped. So I had to make up classes. And now, seeing you again, holding your hand again, kissing you again, I...” Caleb nervously laughed again. “I never realized til now that I never stopped loving you. And it’s cheesy but... my heart... my heart only fell for you.”
“CJ....” Caleb swallowed before looking at her. “CJ I love you.....”
"Well look what the cat dragged in! Violet Tam, look at you!"
“Gee... thanks...” Violet was drenched from the rain. “Any help so I can stop looking like a drowned rat?”
Oliver smiled a little “ I was heading over to get something to eat. I’m starving and I have drama class next. I’m studying to become an actor because I want to overcome my shyness whenever I try to act in front of people.” He said to her.
Violet smiled as she listened. “I’m studying to be a mechanic. I like working with machines. Mama says I take after her that way.” She gave a small nod in understanding. Just then her stomach decided to let out a rumble of hunger. “I have to head back to my dorm and make food. Um, maybe when you’re done classes today we can meet up at the student union?”
