Do you think there’s any way dw can fix this? Will they listen to the fans if we’re loud enough or should we just give up and start writing and drawing fix-it fics ?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but to be brutally honest? No.

  1. DW doesn’t care. It has your money, the show is permanently over, they are not invested emotionally in this show let alone the wants and needs of its fans unless they can squeeze more money out of us somehow. They’re looking at future projects, not lingering on this one.
  2. Some people are calling for a season redo which is absolutely insane. Setting aside their personal emotional closure on the show, JDS and LM are tied into Spider-Verse for at the very LEASTT 2-3 years. The rest of the cast and crew has moved on as well, trying to assemble them and complete an entirely different season would take years, if it even could happen. It’s cheaper and faster and more efficient just to reboot the whole damn thing a decade from now. Netflix isn’t going to foot the bill for a redo and Dreamworks certainly isn’t.
  3. DW/Netflix are damned if they do, damned if they don’t on the Epilogue. Removing it means full-on admitting they really screwed up which almost no company is ever willing to do (it’s bad image and usually results in at least one person getting fired), and it means removing the gay wedding which as terrible rep as it was can give off the very wrong impression to people outside of the Voltron fandom. But leaving it leaves the fans angry. As a company it’s a way smarter move to alienate specific fans than potential future regular viewers.

I’m really sorry guys, I wish I had better news for you. The best we can hope for at this point is someone who was on the inside coming forward months or years from now and giving insight about what the hell happened here. But the cast has been awkwardly silent (saying they hated the season closes career doors, saying they loved it earns them harassment from fans), the creators have been awkwardly silent (between NDAs and the presumable heartbreak of everyone hating the season, it’s hard to find anything to say), and even reviews have been notably scarce. I think those of us looking forward to creator post-season interviews are dreaming. It will be interesting to see who, if anyone, guest stars on the usual post-season shows like Let’s Voltron and AfterBuzz.

So write your fix-its, draw the hell out of things that represent what this show actually was and not how it ended up. My recommendation is to just pretend season 8 never happened. It’s amazing how comforting that mindset is.

I know everybody is thinking Picosecond right now because of the angsty ending, but I gotta say all this multiverse stuff has me thinking about Moonjava and Commander Jerk-Off.

Oh my god. Wait.

When James was shookeith by tentacles my mind was INSTANTLY transported to picosecond verse and a potentially trauma healing interaction there... Lee you have improved my well being. I am thankful that one word can deliver me safe and sound to my happy place; Keith’s beautiful junk 🦑✨

I’m sitting here with my hands on my lap like -- oh shit.

Hi I just wanted to say how thankful I am for you. I love all of your fics and you are such an amazing author. After this... mess of a final season, I am looking forward to your stories more than ever because no matter what, they always make me happy (even when the fics are angsty) and I know you won't let us down.

Thank you, dude. ;; I know the fics are very angsty at times, but I tend to leave things on a happy and hopeful note. I have a bit of a reputation for loving pain, but because it takes me so fucking long to finish stuff lately, people don’t realize I rarely intend to leave things hanging like a corpse.

no pressure or anything but I’m just curious, at what point of writing do you usually post a chapter to ao3? would you want to finish most of the whole fic before posting or is it more on the fly?

It depends. Sometimes I just sit on shit because I’m embarrassed by it, so it collects dust for weeks before I post it. If I’m starting a fic? I try to finish two chapters. Usually, it’s a very chaotic, on the fly, I hope I can work this into my fucking schedule kinda method, especially when I’m doing commissions on top of personal fic. If I have a commission queue? My guilt won’t let me work on anything else, so it’s months of hammering shit out and losing track of time.

I wish I could adopt a schedule. I’ve tried multiple times, but I always end up taking commission, which throws me hard.

picosecond is what vld should've been

Could you imagine JDS and LM being like, “You know what? I think Keith should have a leaky octopussy.”

Hey! Do you already know how many chapters Picosecond will (approx.) have or do you just ~go with the flow? I don't want it to ever end tbh ;-;

I have… a lot of Picosecond messages post S8. Don’t worry. We’re gonna get her rolling again. There’s already 5k+ of it just hanging out on my computer. I’ve got like maybe 3-4 more chapters of it left? So at least into early spring.

You have OCs to introduce in original work that is being published... is this a novel, comic, something else?

Graphic novel!

Did you post a patreon exclusive fic for November? No, right? Will you be posting two in December then? We haven't seen chiaroscuro for a while.

Trust me, you’ll get your content, buddy. I’ve been muscling through like 35,000 words of commissions along with everything else I’ve got going on right now. I’m almost done and not taking anymore for a while due to some pretty intense and invasive health concerns. Thanks for being patient while I negotiate this actual living hell I’m dealing with.

I feel like I keep posting this, but my Twitter is here. Even if erotic writing is still allowed, I refuse to support Tumblr’s archaic Nancy Reagan bullshit.

He would like to believe he’s above another space metaphor, another reference to wise celestial bodies and the star-crossed, but Keith accepts there’s no better way to describe the enormity of it all.

When he looks at Shiro–truly surveys the man–the interior of his chest becomes a star purling through the velour night. The sensation is the closest thing to infinity his brain can conceptualize. Whether or not humanity wakes to see another sunrise, stars will continue to pinhole the sky, and Keith will continue to love Shiro with devotion life and death cannot bridle.

He expects nothing in return. Keith is by no means a martyr either. The love is simply embossed like the convex whorls of fossilized limpets. Break him open, and it will be there, indurated.

I'm finally brave enough to read Picosecond, and Jesus, is it a cube of pain, I don't even know what to feel. But here's a thought: it was mentioned that Allura is disappointed with how her son looks, and it looks like they haven't found the alteans that are alive in this universe? What would happen if they're found now, would it impact her family? (with a Sheith child and all that) (i dunno maybe my line of thought is a bit lost here, but i hope it's still decipherable)

If they suddenly found a bunch of Alteans alive in Picosecondverse, then Allura would probably just jettison herself into one of New Altea’s three suns.
