Maxy Bee’s attempt to once again escape the horrors of other social media, by instead using this, another form of social media. Healthy.

Did you do a shonen jump podcast years ago? Just wanted to say it was a great listen back in the day!

Avatar

I did, and thank you! So much of it was recorded in strange circumstances (literally travelling the world) and with sub-par equipment (initially using a children's microphone from a keyboard playset)that I'm amazed people dug it as much as they did.

I miss the show, and did try and relaunch it years ago, but had the computer I was making it on die, taking several scripts with it (or so I thought. Learned THIS YEAR that I had them backed up). Maybe one day.

If you're interested, I still dabble in Shonen Jump occasionally as a researcher for Shonen Flop, and even still podcast over at Radio Gundam, but this is less about me selling my new stuff as just saying hey.

THANK YOU, so much, for listening to FEV. It means a lot.

Episode 2 of RF 78.2 Radio Gundam is now live!

Show notes to come later, but please dive in with us as we tackle episodes 4-6 of the original Mobile Suit Gundam, discussing such things as Wrigley’s Breath Strips, Lou Reed, steamy shower scenes, Amuro’s increasing descent into irreparable trauma, the concept of ‘ambooshing’, the die-cast toys of Clover, our favourite non-Gundam robot shows, and much, MUCH more.

My pals and I make cool things. Listen to our cool thing!

It’s a weekend full of podcasting, research, and general recovery from the working week, and the last of which is being achieved by reading more of Jeff Smith’s Bone!

Here’s an immaculate bit of comic storytelling from The Great Cow Race. Every panel links to the next in an intensely clean and readable way. Continuity, baybeeeeeee.

For all Gundam Fans, have a F91 Gundam F91. It’s my personal favorite and I especially like the Ferrari-looking chest.

This is a new podcast where your daring hosts (Maxy, Sami, and Alex) watch through all of Mobile Suit Gundam, cracking jokes and providing newcomer and casual fan-friendly analysis and insight into one of the greatest media empires of all time!

Our first episode is a bit of a biggie, but debuts have to go big or go home, so please consider jumping on board with us! We have homes on the blog linked above, Spotify, and Apple Podcasts, with more to come.

I did a thing!! With two lovely co-hosts! Please listen to it if you're so inclined!

Some truly, unbearably good panel-to-panel storytelling from Jeff Smith on Bone. The journey from every panel to the next makes perfect sense, flows brilliantly, and conveys actions and beats meticulously.

Looks good, too.

Today’s reading is Jeff Smith’s Bone, one of the most essential works of the medium by one of the best to ever do it.

So naturally this’ll be the first time I’ve ever gotten past the early stories.

This is one of a good pile of 1000+ page comics I’ve got to work through, and I love the commitment of a huge tome like this.

Realised today after somewhat naively being proud of myself for getting my comixology unreads down to 24 books that I have over 350 books to read on my Bookwalker, and so it’s time to knuckle down and read some stuff! Starting with Tsukiiro no Invader by Ran Yamano, a manga I picked up after a brief period checking out Ultra Jump issues.
