“ but that is with acquiantances! i will be a disaster at balls, i know nobody and everyone will think i am haughty for not talking and assume i am so because i have money. ” to say georgiana was incredibly nervous about finally coming out into society and as darling as her brother was, he was no help whatsoever. men didn’t come out, they just went out and that was that. on one hand, she very much wanted to come out and be able to go to balls but on the other hand her shyness (of which she was so painfully aware) made her think it better to just hide in pemberly forever and become a spinster. “ jane and charles are people people, i wish i was like them. everyone likes jane and charles. ” if only her father had left her his easy going nature to inherit, then things wouldn’t be as complicated as this.
