It seemed like just a second ago she was on the other side of the hallway. Now the girl was right in front of Mikado, making the teen almost jump out of his skin. Not knowing whether to answer her question or not, the boy stood there sheepishly, anxious eyes glancing around the hallway. Why is she asking me?!! Crap! She must have seen me hearing in on her conversation! …And what does she mean when she says she planted more “suspicious” stuff in people’s bags?! 

Blue hues had grown large by the last question directed at him. “Er… W-why do you want to know??” he asked timidly, immediately grabbing his bag in a hug.

Mairu had seen that Mikado decided to clutch more tightly to his bag and assumed it was due to what she had just been saying. "Don't worry: I'm not planning to put anything in your bag. This time, anyway. I only plant stuff if I feel I need to and I can't think of a good reason to do something to you now...Other than it might be funny, I mean.Do it too often to one person and it will become suspicious..." Her grin spread by a margin. " Unless I were to put something like porn in your bag."

She could guess that she was probably overwhelming the boy with such talk, not that she cared. In fact, it might even mean he could accidentally agree to help her in her scheme. "All I need is somebody to discover my missing organizer. It's simple, really."

For Mikado Ryugamine, it was interesting and slightly nostalgic to see all the new freshman come in and adjust to their new lives as high school students. For him, it really brought back memories. However, he didn’t expect to hear a certain conversation. His natural curiosity getting the best of him, Mikado slows his pace to better hear the words of the new Freshman. His conflicting feelings of shame and slight astonishment grew as he stood there now just a few feet from the girl in braids. Did she really think that high school would be just a walk in the park? These newer generations… It’s as if they think that life is all about fun and no work.

Mairu had been babbling on about how to get out of doing any work that day when she noticed that Mikado had been listening in on her ideas. Suddenly, she span around and closed what little distance there was left between them, with little regard for his personal space.

"Ne, what do you think? How should I get the teacher to find my organizer? Planting it should be easy. I've placed more suspicious stuff in people's bags before so this won't be a problem! It's just a matter of the stuff being found." She paused for a moment as a thought entered her mind. Her eyes lit up when she devised another idea. "Hey - what class are you in?"
