Black women have been the backbone for black communities since the beginning of time.⁣

If you are a black woman, you probably have countless memories of them giving you advice, taking you in, cooking for you, their homemade remedies, God-fearing spirit and relient attitude.⁣

⁣As a black woman who is building a women empowerment brand, I feel compelled to uplift and shed light on black woman owned business during this tough time so this post will be just that. ⁣

It is so important to be mindful about where you spend your money. Vote with your dollar by supporting black women-owned brands today!⁣

If I missed your brand/company, I apologize. Feel free to tag them below. I will be making an extensive blog post on the She 3.0 website by the end of this week with everyone included!⁣

Sending love and light. Love, Shantel 💜🖤⁣

I know a lot of people in my social circles like vintage retailers, memorabilia, and fashion—here’s some resources provided by whiskeyrivervintage on instagram of black owned vintage retailers!

BLK MKT Vintage (I just bought some prints and a Luke Cage comic from them!)

Also if you are in Canada, Espace Tricot is owned by a black woman as well although many may not have known. A lot of the yarn companies are indie dyers so please support them especially since a lot of yarn festivals were canceled due to COVID-19

Anonymous asked:

ok but unironically: on paw patrol, there's a 'recycling dog' who I think is just a bin man, and it's the only dog described as a 'mongrel'. this dog also apparently does not bathe, which is a running gag. paw patrol denigrates the working class, especially those that fulfil important but undesirable jobs

Oh cool we love classist indoctrination

“The paintings for which Kelly Reemtsen is best known are elaborate depictions of the role of the modern day woman. Strikingly feminine at first glance, with their figures adorned in fashionable vintage designer dresses and runway-worthy accessories, Reemtsen’s women are not simply pinup girls or arm candy. Rather, the women, while dressed to the nines, undertake household, and often traditionally masculine, tasks. The objects that they hold, from dishrags to wrenches to even chainsaws, range from being domestic to borderline menacing, and yet, as a body of work, answer the question as to the proper role of the contemporary woman. Reemtsen’s answer to that is quite simple – anything!” - De Buck Gallery, NY https://www.debuckgallery.com/artists/kelly-reemtsen/
