#grantchester#ok ok ok NOW#so here's the thing#i was oblivious to this show and i finally 1. became aware of it and 2. watched it#i've gotten through S3#CLEARLY Sidney is a thirst trap priest and i can get on board with that#but in the show he genuinely starts out as a seemingly good guy#but by S3 he just disappears when he gets in a mood and then flippantly abandons Amanda after misleading her#i have SO MANY strong feelings about this#he can be conflicted about his relationship with God and life and struggle with PTSD that's COOL#i get the complexity of balancing all that#but him being a total irresponsible dick in the way he handles relationships seems bizarrely out of character for how he was written in S1#is this just me???#i just assume they wanted to tank the character for whatever reason James Norton was ready to leave the show??#also ALSO why torpedo his relationship with Amanda that had backstory and connection to only give him a single episode arc with Violet to#depart the show#if it was about writing him off the show why not grow his character to see how he could be a better partner who is emotionally and#spiritually available for a partner by making amends with Amanda??#I liked Violet and part of this response is out of protectiveness for her character that I hardly knew#she deserves a more stable mature man who's demonstrated he knows what he wants and doesn't run off in a maladaptive way of handling his own#stuffs#UGHHHHH THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS#I JUST WANT A THIRST TRAP THAT'S MORE THAT PHYSICAL IT'S ALSO A QUALITY PERSON OF MIND BODY AND SOUL

Peggy Carter is a renowned, harsh food critic. She loves the classic fine dining, but can be appreciative of modern, fusion intake. However, when a cheeky American’s burger pub becomes London’s new hot spot and her bosses ask her to do an article on it Peggy’s ready to rip it apart. Unrefined, overblown, so very American - she itches to write it all down. Until she’s served a most delicious, hearty burger with fresh, creative sides. The place, Howling Commando, is nothing she expected either. And the chef, Steve Rogers? Peggy decides he’s not that bad. For an American, that is.

What if she “accidentally” writes… Queen Peggy has never done anything accidentally in her entire life, this was all part of the galaxy brain plan to get the shy-around-ladies chef to HAVE to say something to her when she comes back for the sweater she strategically left at the restaurant.

My usual retort to people who don’t want “universal healthcare/education/basic income/etc.” under the pretense that “the rich shouldn’t have access to it” is that it’s cheaper to just give it to everyone no-question-asked than to try and judge every single case just to exclude a tiny minority of them.

But this tweet thread? This right there? That’s a damn powerful argument. Something that can actually convince people emotionally, more than my cynical, it’s-cheaper-that-way, pragmatic approach.

I’ll keep it, and I’ll re-use it, because it’s with thread like this that you change the world, one opinion at a time.

It will be a great day when public universities no longer require a FAFSA.
