ugh.

okay so i've always been against putting up a donation link for myself cause like...others have it worse

...but others have it a lot better too so i started a ko-fi. eventually itll become exclusive to a project im working on and will take my name off it, but by the time that happens hopefully i'll have an income from it.

for now if anyone wants to toss a couple bucks in to an unemployed, disabled, trans person who could really use some spare change I wouldn't mind the help. hell even if its just shared and read through.

thanks for bearing with me (My sideblog also has a link in the bio so like...don't report me to myself, i know its there)

i think its so funny that alumni from schools like harvard and columbia that were there during the protests in the 60s-80s are expressing support for students currently protesting against the genocide in palestine, and random zionists that were NOT at these protests in the 60s-80s have the never ending audacity to tell these alumni "well thats different, what you protested was good and what they're protesting is bad." as if protesters against the vietnam war and apartheid south africa were not also demonized, arrested, brutalized, and even killed for their activism. history only remembers them fondly after the damage has already been done.

I think if you're not prepared for the answer, "I'm not working because I'm disabled," you shouldn't be asking people what they do for work. Sorry not sorry. It's not fair to ask the question and then get all flustered and weird when you get the answer.

a bottom-tier autistic experience is being told throughout your entire childhood that you are just an overthinker when it comes to social situations and later finding out that your friends did, in fact, hate being around you and tried to communicate that through weird little hints

I have so much trauma about this, that all those friendly like "your friends don't hate you, they're just busy!" posts honestly grate on my nerves at this point.

Because like, yeah, sometimes they do hate you. Sometimes you're fighting for your fucking life, masking so hard so you have no fuckin' clue who you even are, and the dissociated shell of a copied personality you're remotely piloting manages to make some friends.

But then they start seeing all the cracks in your facade. You're not really like them. You're just several raccoons in an extremely ill fitting skin suit and they find your chittering off putting.

But our society has no script for that. So they just pretend to like you. And you just pretend to be the person they could like. And on some level everyone knows we're all pretending and everyone hates it, but no one says anything.

And then school ends and you drift apart and that happens at least two or three times while your brain is still solidifying shit, and at some point you just start to believe that You're bad at making friends.

When in reality, you were never given a chance to be who you are to attract the kinda folks who would actually enjoy being your friend in the first place.

So yeah, what OP said, bottom fucking tier.

Got pulled over because he "saw someone flash their lights at me" and it made him "think something was going on". After he ran my paperwork and did multiple full walk-arounds of my car, he decided everything was in order and I was free to go. I just wanted to get home from work.

Living in MD got pulled over when I pulled into my landlady's [100%, rich, suburban] community and questioned what my purpose was there. "I live here" was not an acceptable answer and I ended up needing to call my landlady to talk to the officer and convince them that I really did live there, in her basement inlaw apartment, courtesy of her granddaughter. When he finally let me go he told me he "actually" pulled me over because he "thought [my] headlights were out" but on "second glance" they were just fine. Dunno how you can mistake headlights being on or off.

And I know I've told the story of when one of my elderly white neighbors called the police on me for training my dog in a public use field and how even the cop that showed up thought the call was stupid and racist.

My dad got pulled over when I was still in a carseat because they thought it was "suspicious" that a grown man would have such a young child with him on a school day. He was driving me back to school from a doctor's appointment. They made him get our of the car, lean against it, and searched both him and the car because they "smelled something" while he did his best to keep me calm and tell me that it was going to be okay. I was too young to understand what happened at the time. I just remember he was furious the entire ride back to school, and he was still mad when I got off the bus that afternoon.

It really is just Like This, being black in this country.

in my head the star wars equivalent of tswift is some human woman named tay’lor spiff or something and her stans are losing their minds over theories that she’s secretly a jedi singing about the horrors of war, even though she’s from a neutral system that hasn’t seen so much as a moral panic in 50 years

the theories get even more egregious during the imperial era, with people straight up thinking she joined the rebellion in secret and is loading her songs with subliminal rebel propaganda. their main piece of evidence for this is if you play a certain song backwards, it sounds like she’s saying “freedom” in shyriiwook. the fans get really defensive if you point out she’s performed at the yearly empire day celebration thrice now and her family historically owned ewok slaves

Admiral Croft wishing that all women were named the same thing to make life simpler:

"...But first of all, you must tell me the name of the young lady I am going to talk about. That young lady, you know, that we have all been so concerned for. The Miss Musgrove, that all this has been happening to. Her Christian name: I always forget her Christian name."

Anne had been ashamed to appear to comprehend so soon as she really did; but now she could safely suggest the name of "Louisa."

"Ay, ay, Miss Louisa Musgrove, that is the name. I wish young ladies had not such a number of fine Christian names. I should never be out if they were all Sophys..."

The Right Wing has no principles. They have rules for others and none for themselves.

These same Right Wingers compared the murderous Jan 6 insurrection mobs to 'normal tourist visits'.

Their opinions mean zero.

Because I circulated a call to action about it here that got some traction: to those of you who contacted Maine legislators when it counted, thank you— it worked. Maine just passed sanctuary-state-level protection for trans rights.
