watching season five is just me seeing dean and cas interact, remembering that they end up in a common-law marriage raising a child together, and then bursting into tears

like they don’t know each other here! i mean, they’re allies and friends and they’re devoted to the same cause, but they aren’t best friends yet! they’re in a motel parking lot at the end of the world talking about their deadbeat dads, and they have no idea that in ten years they will have a son. they have no idea what they’re going to do to each other, and what they will forgive of each other, and the mistakes they’ll make over and over. they have no idea that they have a love that will kill god.
