Lion had mixed feelings about this blue gem. On one hand she had stolen the ocean, something that Lion rather enjoyed sleeping near, and had threatened and even attacked Steven and himself when they tried to get it back. But on the other hand, she had given the ocean back eventually, and had later even protected Steven from Homeworld.
Uncertain how to approach this powerful gem Lion kept his distance. A soft grumble on his breath to let Lapis know he was not afraid of her, but a non-threatening pose to show that he did not intend to cause her harm unless provoked.
It took her a few moments to notice the beast, but when she did recognition came easy. She didn’t spot Steven, though, which was curious. She felt exhausted, and naturally a slight wariness was brought upon her at the sight of Lion. But she couldn’t see any other gem in his company, and he didn’t seem too interested in any combat. Lapis watched him with equal uncertainty, taking one step closer before pausing. She kept herself generally relaxed, if only anxious by default. She had little interest in any conflict just as well, so she was glad to see the lack of hostility in the big cat’s posture.
“You’re... Steven’s, aren’t you?” She speaks aloud, though she doesn’t expect an actual answer.
