Avery and Brayden have each been fantasizing about each other, what happens when they finally give into the craving?
Avery’s loft was full of people, some she almost never got to see like Rachel and the surprise of the night Luca, of all the people to decide to spend New Year’s in New York. She watched as his eyes followed Rachel around the room, there would be fireworks tonight for sure, and they would be the cause.
“A drink for the beautiful hostess” Brayden Gardner was behind her, handing her a glass of champagne, breathing in her scent of lavender and vanilla.
“Thanks Cheese Soufflé.” She bit her lower lip as she took the drink from him he was wearing the cologne that always seemed to make her toes curl.
He shook his head, “One of these days Avery you will have explain why you call me that.”
Avery took a sip before tilting her head playfully, “Now what would be the fun in you knowing that?”
Brayden rolled his eyes, he wanted to just brush that lock of hair from her eyes, let his fingers glide down her neck, tilt her chin up and melt her lips with his. “I’m sure we could come up with lots of other ways to have fun.”
“Oh Brayden, just keep selling my paintings and we can both afford to have the kind of fun we like.” She pouted, “Or are you about to tell me that with the New Year I need to find a new art dealer?”
“And give up my biggest client, never. I’ve made us both a lot of money and I plan to keep doing so. You’re right, I’m sure we’ve both become accustomed to certain lifestyle perks we would hate to lose.” He took a sip, studying her blue eyes, “What is so fascinating?”
“Fireworks, Rachel and Luca are finally face to face.”
Brayden rolled his eyes, “She’s not even your best friend anymore, why are you so interested in what happens with them?”
“It’s like a soap opera I can’t turn off I’ve waited years for them to be face to face again. It’s like when you wait years to see a secret revealed and these two morons have secrets.”
“And off they go.” Brayden pointed as Rachel ran out and Luca was right after her. “I guess you’ll have to wait for a rerun.”
“Shut up.” Avery turned to him smiling, “So who are you kissing at midnight?”
Brayden looked around and smirked as the countdown began, he took her champagne glass and his placing them on a nearby table. Without a word he ran his hands behind her head, pulling her petite frame to him as he finally fulfilled a hunger that had been burning inside of him for the past six years.
Avery was drunk on his kiss as her body became a puddle of untapped desires, wants and needs as he held her tightly. This moment would be burned in her memory for years to come before he ended it, a knowing smile on his lips and a sparkle in his blue eyes.
If her loft wasn’t filled with people she would grab him by his tie and drag him to her bed. She would strip him, find out if his time in the gym paid off or not and do things to him that she was sure he’d only watched in porn, maybe once because she was sure his vanilla self-had never ventured out of missionary.
He hadn’t planned to kiss her, he’d thought about it probably a million times over the years, but the time had never been right and here it was, and it had been hotter than he’d expected. He wished they were alone, he wished he could undress her, feel the curves of her body against fingers explore her do things to her that the men she dated never had the nerve to do. He was sure that no one probably ever gave her a proper fucking, and all Brayden wanted to do was open that door and discover her deepest, darkest desires.
“I should go mingle.” She bit her lip as she looked at him through her eyelashes.
“Yes, mingling would be good.” God he wished he didn’t have to watch her walk away, disappearing into the crowd, it was his own damn fault for kissing her. Now he had a taste of everything he wanted, it hadn’t ended his craving, it just made it worse.
Avery spoke to her guests as they all started to make their way towards the door, all ready to go home, sleep off the champagne, make love, hook up with whoever they came with, or someone they didn’t. When everyone was gone, she found Brayden on her couch already asleep.
She reached out pushing the hair from in front of his eyes a kiss is just a kiss she told herself before going to her bed, wishing he was going with her.
