Horner: He's shy, he's naturally shy. Fame sets uncomfortably with him. He is not a diva or anything like that. He's just one of the boys.

Shepard: It's interesting that I've met other drivers and of course gathered gossip about all of them. Every time I hear the stories (about Max) the kind of resounding unanimous feedback is like everyone loves Max. Everyone tells me Max is actually the sweetest guy off the track. And shy and nice..

Horner: He's a good guy, he's a fun guy and he's old school as well. (...) He trains hard he takes it all very very seriously but he's got such a huge ability. I've never met a driver with as much self confidence and self belief.

I'm sorry

  • Logan physically couldn't finish the race and could barely get himself out of the car
  • Oscar spent most of the post race lying on the ground because he was so wrecked as did Max
  • Esteban literally threw up
  • Lance and Alex both needed help to get out of their cars and have reportedly had to seek medical help
  • a mechanic had to hold Alex's drink so Alex could drink out of it

Why the fuck were we racing in Qatar in this heat???

#oh I remember this!#he absolutely 100% knew it was real#no one ever played the game on nico’s level#in one deft move he avoided having to give a real comment while simultaneously outright saying that what lewis said was beyond the pale#all while pretending to take the high road#he took the bullets lewis fired at him and deflected them back through the press without having to lift a finger#a master of his craft#I’m not saying it didn’t hurt for real#especially back then when things weren’t completely burned to ash between them yet#but nico has always made the most of whatever hand he was dealt
