The era of riotcakes is over… on to new things!

As you may know my riotcakes products are being discontinued to make way for more artsy queerfeminist items. So I’m having a closing down sale! I want you all to empty this shop! We need to make room for new things 🤗🌈💜 I really appreciate all your help and support and this journey has been incredibly special… so excited for what’s next! Please share the news with your friends and SIGNAL BOOST to your followers that they’re able to get lots of feminist & queer gear for cheap, maybe as gifts for the holidays too! 👀🌈  Sorry about the obnoxious sales graphics but I really gotta clear out this stock!!! :D

Folks! This is a good shop for lgbtq stuff, feminist stuff, and just really cutesy art stuff!

I’ve bought stuff here before and the shipping was fully reasonably priced and fast.

I just bought more for a huge markdown and it’s wonderful!

I started this right one after ep 60 & came back to finally finish it today. After they said Jester's massage would likely hurt rather than comfort Beau with her brute strength it seemed too funny not to somehow include, so the second panel is an add-on  🌈 I never do comic-style things so it’s a bit terrible, but a fun time to draw! This is my first proper #CriticalRole fanart! Hope I did Art Dad and @kimabutch proud and of course I hope you like it too <3

[Image description: Two panels of Beau being massaged by an offscreen Jester. In the second panel Jester uses too much force, hurting Beau by accident. Around them is an atmospheric glow that I envision the inside of Leomund's Tiny Hut might have.]

don’t delete caption thx

#Febuqueery Day 6: Affection

Hey! I am finally catching up a little after sketching three pieces on Saturday and colouring two today. Here is a cute gay drawing for the prompt “affection”! Hope you like it 💜🙌🌈⠀⠀

[Image description: Two women in purple-ish hues. One is slightly further to the front, excitedly talking and pointing at something. The other is looking at the front one from behind with a sweet look of affection. The front one is dark skinned with a braid ponytail and a cute dressy top and the other one has light skin and dark hair with a leather jacket.]⠀

Introducing…FEBUQUEERY!

I’ve put together LGBTQ* art prompts for the whole month of February. If you’d like to follow along use #febuqueery in your posts wherever you post them whether on instagram, twitter, tumblr, whatever! You can follow along with all of these prompts or just some of them, no pressure to do all of them. Any would be wonderful to see and I’m so excited to see what you create! You can use any art medium, digital or traditional.

Please share this if you’d like to participate or to signal boost for other aritsts! ⠀ Here are the prompts with a bit more elaboration where helpful:

1. First crush⠀ 2. Gender Non-Conforming⠀ 3. Inclusion [this can be about inclusion in general or with a focus on intersectionality]⠀ 4. Holding hands⠀ 5. Rainbow / Flag [art inspired either by a classical rainbow or a pride flag]⠀ 6. Affection⠀ 7. History [the timing for #Febuqueery is perfect as it is LGBTQ* History Month in the UK, so depict a moment either from your history, the history of the LGBTQ* movement, or of queer history in general]⠀ 8. Queer Dynamics [dynamics like butch/femme or other identity combinations or contrasts]⠀ 9. Fave queer person [either a fictional character or a real (e.g. public) figure]⠀ 10. Intimacy [emotional or physical]⠀ 11. Questioning⠀ 12. Aging queers [we don’t see enough queer people getting older, you can for example draw an older queer person or someone at different stages in their life]⠀ 13. Affirmation⠀ 14. On a date⠀ 15. Fantasy & Sci-Fi [queer people are underrepresented in these settings, so anything fantastical!]⠀ 16. Fave queer couple [either real life couple or fictional couple]⠀ 17. Good romantic tropes / hopes [“paint a picture” of your favourite romantic situations, fanfiction clichés welcome]⠀ 18. Couple growing old together⠀ 19. Coming out⠀ 20. Queer headcanon(s)⠀ 21. Marriage legalised [several countries have legalised same gender marriage in the last few years, create art inspired by these historic moments]⠀ 22. Finding your style [fashion/style for self-expression]⠀ 23. Growing up queer⠀ 24. fave queer media [book, film, series, …]⠀ 25. First kiss⠀ 26. Gender euphoria⠀ 27. Let’s get political⠀ 28. Happy together

[Image description: Colourful rainbow graphic reading “Febuqueery” and the above list of prompts]

I have a whole thing planned out and hopefully 🤞 I’ll have a nice little art booklet at the end of it

Reminder that you can join in at any time with whichever prompt!

#Febuqueery Day 7: History⠀

It was really tough coming up with something for history. Like a lot of LGBTQ* folks I was taught nothing about our history and have only been able to learn a smidge of it on my own. Because I struggled so much with finding a connection to the past I tried to go at it differently and found a brilliant photo of Sigourney Weaver "in drag" while searching for references for Day 8 "queer dynamics". This is my representation of the photo, which spoke to me not just in a *fans self* kinda way but also in a way that fascinated me as a (soft) butch aligned person. Alternatively some overlap exists between butch and trans history which is too complicated to get into, but I wanted to capture the feelings I got when I saw this photo in my drawing. Hope you like it!⠀ ⠀ I'm a bit behind on drawings for #Febuqueery, but I have quite a few sketches and lineart done for some days, so I can hopefully catch up on those soon. Also this picture was a fun values study! Without the quick sketch this only took around 90mins to do which I'm quite proud of if I may say so myself!

Nervous about febuqueery because I want to participate but I can't draw fast enough for one a day. OK to do any prompt any day? Your prompts filled my head with ideas and I have one tiny sketch so far and soon it'll be the 12th which was my motivating prompt. But some others work and my head is full. Post away or wait until the day?

The prompts and corresponding days are not be all end all, I want you all to get creative and have fun! If that means working on something two weeks early or finishing something up in March, that’s absolutely fine :) I’m excited to see what lovely things you all come up with whenever you want to and can manage to make them. Hope that helps!

#Febuqueery Day 5: Rainbow / Flag

For today we could either do something rainbow related or something relating to our pride flag, so I chose to depict queer icon and all around amazing person Janelle Monáe for this one as her rainbow dress is just so stunning! I simplified it a little for the alcohol markers I had available. Aside from the red border this is all traditional, with a gold edding marker for the shimmering gold background element. Hope you like it!

Had fun drawing this gay and cute scene! 🌈💜 Did the lineart yesterday traditionally and coloured today digitally! The lineart turned out not so bad, the pose is based on a cute scene from Fruits Basket though so using a reference definitely helped. 😊

#Febuqueery Day 2: Gender Non-Conforming

For day two I wanted to show the non-binary bicon Connor Manning @aconnormanning in this amazing outfit they posted a while back. I sketched this yesterday but only managed to finish it today. I tried to go for a more dynamic pose to challenge myself and it didn't turn out totally terrible! Hope you like it! Connor is wonderfully goth so I took... some artistic licenses with this picture. Whether or not they have vampire teeth in real life... who can say?

[Image description: Digital drawing of Connor Manning wearing a plaid shirt over a seethrough black crop top. Connor has sleek black hair and vampire teeth. The background looks like cracks or webbing, very goth.]

#Febuqueery Day 1: First Crush

Dana Scully isn’t my “first” crush by a long stretch, but she’s the first time I had the conscious thought “I’m very gay for this person”.

Day 1 has already started, but you can join in at any point! You don’t have to do all the prompts either. Let’s have a fun creative month!

[Image description: Digital art piece of Dana Scully of the X-Files crossing her arms in front of a grid pattern background. Second picture is a graphic with all Febuqueery posts, the full list can be found on a post on my profile.]

Where do you print your awesome journals :o ?

I just have the pages printed and I handmake the notebooks and planners with those! I have a little binder machine that staples the pages and adds the spiral binding. :)

Hell yeah! Got my purchase from @riotcakes today! It was a lovely thing to come home to after a long day out and the hand-written note made me so happy! I’m defo scrapbooking this. The only issue now is how do I wear the pins without attracting the attention of my lgbt-phobic family?

My first sale has just been dispatched!

Here a quick picture of the purchase before it was packaged and sent away. The purchase is my Bisexual Button Set.

The packaging is still a prototype, but I quite like how it turned out.

At the top you can see the first glimpse of my business card!

My first ever sale many moons ago! How cute is this? End Bisexual Erasure has been here from the START!
