[Solo] —  Life mission

Baelfire had sat by Leo in the Alpha's office with the King present too. Christ knew it was intimidating to be in a room with all them people, but after so fucking long he was pretty calm about it. Their mission had been made simple -- go to a given location in East Europe where they'd meet with one of the mage from the ancient coven who had awakened the new species and learn everything they could about elysians and chthonics. If it took months or years, it didn't matter, although both of them would have to constantly travel back to Covaire-- never spending more than three months away from the city. So basically, three months out and three months in until they were fully trained, but mostly knew all there was to know.

One thing that had been done, that had made the Alpha laughed had been to reveal the truth about Baelfire-- not just his CIP, which the guy had already know, but about his sight too. Instead of being angered, that had seemed to please the Alpha even more cause it meant Baelfire couldn't be manipulated with compulsion cause he was fully immune. Though the only reason he was going to avoid punishment for keeping that from his was because of their mission which was a fucking blessing.

Before their departure, Kim Price had been promoted as Deputy Warden cause let's be honest, she was the only one in there that would really stand by Leo while he was gone and the girl had fucking deserved it man. The guards had been made aware that Leo would be working on behalf of the city outside of it for a while and that had been about it. No one needed to know what they were about to do. Actually, not even the King had been given the full length of the mission, which to his defense, none of them had known either until now.

Because now outside of the city, alone with the Alpha, that he knew now as Attila, but Attila wasn't the only Alpha there with them, a woman named Aigneis that called him father was present too. And that was when they learned about the full mission-- not only would they be training themselves, but they would also be tasked with bringing all awakened elysians and chthonics from Attila's pack. Each Alpha would bring them to a group that would travel with them, but only one continent at a time with secure and private air planes to cross the ocean, everything else would be done by foot during the night. Of fucking course, meeting points would be away from the actual pack's location, and each location would be provided by the last Alpha. So simply put, Aigneis was going to give them the next location once they'd taken people from her pack.

Christ! How many packs did Attila have? But that was explaining so fucking much about shit and now he was wondering what else the man was hiding. But he would have months if not years to think about it. For now, they'd be gone for the next three months-- long enough for their presence to be missed until their temporary return. It felt strange to be out with Leo, but it felt like his presence had been a gift to the man from the Alpha for his good service. And that was fucking fine with him cause he wanted to be with Leo for this journey.

And maybe, if he was lucky, he'd get to cross path with Bryce during their travelling, or even Kadyn and Freeman.

Disney Princess || Seth & Baelfire [Closed]

@seth-abrams

Baelfire had been taking the last couple weeks to work on himself-- wasn’t the best idea to just lose control around people with the job he did. Especially the telepathy part, considering he was a spy for the Alpha. Christ knew he couldn’t mess that up. So after the damn asshole had let him out of his sight, he’d spent his time learning about his new abilities and he felt like a fucking Disney Princess with the animal talking shit. He would clearly need years to perfect stuff, but for now, he was confident enough to be in public again-- even though he was an animal magnet right now. But one person he really wanted to ‘see’, was Seth, cause they’d been there for each other and word was that the civilian had changed too. He got to the guy’s store, miraculously getting rid of the animals following his ass before entering. “Hello fellow survivor and ancient specie. Guess I owe you an apology for not showing my face around here earlier-- yeah?”

Rebirth || Leo & Baelfire [Closed]

There was no miracle, just a positive outcome with low statistical probability for success. All things were as they must be. Leopold’s will and the stubborn determination to have his greedy way. He would not entertain the fact that this outcome might not have happened. That Baelfire might have been permanently crippled. “You wouldn’t dare let yourself die without me there to allow it.” He felt like his body was giving off pulses of heat as he thought about what it might have been like to find nothing but pieces of bone or a scrape of clothing. To have lost Baelfire in truth before he had delivered on his promise. And the thoughts ignited through his mind.
imageimage
He drew in a deep breath, still unaccustomed to needing to breathe. He couldn’t be soft but he could be slow. Clawed nails scratching lightly against Baelfire’s face as Leo drew his face away from the Elysians. He was annoyed about the things he would miss with Baelfire no longer being a wolf. But now there would be no full moons to prepare for. No night where Baelfire’s body couldn’t and wouldn’t be his to take if he wished. He could haunt Baelfire’s dreams. He could live in every moment of this being of light’s existence. His feverish body and the pounding of his heart driving him slightly mad, like a leaking tap he couldn’t fix. His hands became rougher, more instant as he began to whisper in the dark of the room, “Touch me. Let me see you. I’m going to skin you with my tongue… I’m going to fucking chain you to the goddamn bed… How could you let anything steal you from me? How could you almost make me a liar? Only I get to kill you. Only I get to say when it’s done… It’s too hot…” As he slipped into a manic state he swore his eyes were burning with his own internal heat and all he could do was hold Baelfire’s cold body against his, claws leaving shallow, bloody tracks along the wolf’s… Elysian’s back as he tried to pull them closer together.

“I would do my best, but when the world turns against you, ain’t much we can do.” He said back and could tell how much lil control the chthonic had on himself. He knew the next couple days would be hard cause the guard had never been good dealing with those kind of emotions. But at least people at the Chateau would get a breather since the asshole would be in a better mood. Though, the power trip was going to be high. He wondered if he’d changed too to survive a bit longer. Obviously, awakening had nothing to do with Leo, but sometimes, it felt like the whole fucking universe was doing things for them to be together longer.

Baelfire had to take charge of this or at least guide the guard’s path in a direction that’d keep them both alive a bit longer. He still wasn’t at his strongest cause it had taken a lot out of him to grow back part obviously. But he knew he could find some of that energy back. He forced himself out of the vamp’s– Christ, chthonic’s grip and just sat on his cock. Leo would get hard, he knew it, so he didn’t care if this wasn’t agreeable for the asshole at the moment. He focused on the feeling he had to achieve before to wolf out and it made his elysian’s traits come out too, minus the talons. But there they were falcon like wings instead of ears and eerily silver eyes. Baelfire leaned down, biting the guard’s shoulders and he felt it for the first time in his life, actually life slipping into his mouth, making him moan like a bitch in heat. He had to rip his mouth away before going mad, but now, he felt so much better and rode the guard like it was their last time. “Fuck yeah!” He couldn’t do anything else than grabbed the chthonic’s horns, moving his ass faster. “Fuck me Ku'u Lei.”

Aladdin || Grace & Baelfire [Closed]

Raw denial was an understatement. Grace was stuck in some state between completely numb and absolutely insane. She seemed to be the only one with an ounce of hope left in her heart that he wasn’t dead. Despite what had been declared, without a body to bury, she’d continue to hold out that he was just gone - just missing - but the hurt was still there, because deep down the truth burrowed a permanent, painful truth in her heart. Yet, she woke up to see each morning and with the overhaul of the city to get all things pieced back together, she threw herself into work as a distraction. Open to close and straight to bed right after, Grace had avoided anything that would spark his memory, preferring to feel nothing at all.
She nearly barreled into the girl who had gone to fetch her. Fresh off of her shift, her apron hung up, she was on her way out of the kitchen with every intent to go home until she saw Baelfire. Luckily, the relief that he was okay overpowered the anger that Alexander wasn’t, and without a word, the brunette was gently pulling the other into a hug with no regard for if it was welcomed or not. Grief made her incredibly selfish in what she wanted, or rather, needed for comfort after all. “You’re alright,” she muttered, desperately wanting those words to make her happy. But, they didn’t. Nothing would.
imageimage
Baelfire had prepared himself for Grace to touch him. And he fucking appreciated that she went for a hug slowly. He hugged her back, nodding into their hug. “But I doubt you are. Wanna talk about it and get some dinner together? My treat.”
ImageImage

He had an idea of how fucking bad she felt. Not cause he’d lost Leo, but he compared it to losing Jared and fuck had he been lost. She had to be forcing herself to do stuff to keep her mind from wondering back to Alexander and all the what if’s. He could almost feel himself choking to think about how she must have been feeling right now. Though, he would do the same as her if something like that happened to Leo, but with what the vamp had gained by becoming a chthonic, he’d be less worried about him being killed now.

Normal is the Watch Word

Since Deacon couldn’t follow Prometheus or Seth around all day or keep them in his apartment he had found ways to stay busy even beyond running and managing his business. For the most part My Laundrette worked well without him hovering and micromanaging the girls and the few other temp workers he’d hired to meet demand. He liked working outdoors and didn’t do it often. But when an acquaintance asked for some help clearing some felled trees on the edge of their property Deacon had volunteered. Especially when they had said he could take the wood to keep for firewood if he wished, along with a little bit of money for his time and trouble.

He was sawing; shirtless and focused on the task at hand that he didn’t notice someone approaching.

Christ! Maybe renaming himself Snow White would be a fucking good idea cause fuck had it taken him half the day to put his ass in the middle of the wood without getting followed by any animals he’d crossed path with. Eventually, he’d meditated, setting his mind on wanting to be alone. Until he’d figured out how to handle that new abilities, that would be his way to go.

He got deeper into the woods, catching a friend’s scent and got closer. “Aloha Deacon.” He said with a lil smile. “It’s good to see you alive and kicking man. Want some water?”

Rebirth || Leo & Baelfire [Closed]

Leopold Kennedy had found himself standing on the East Side, dazed and looking at unfamiliar black taloned hands and then at his feet also black as pitch and clawed. He was bare foot, his brain coming to the conclusion that the claws had broken his shoes which had been abandoned somewhere. He felt hot. Nearly burning as he bent over and retched at the nausea it caused him. The sound of his heartbeat was painfully loud in his own head as he staggered towards his home. Perhaps Baelfire had been attempting the same thing as he came across the man unconscious on the ground, missing limbs.
Most would have taken the new Elysian to the hospital but Leo just looked at Baelfire, his holy grail since the others disappearance and then lifted him with his clawed hands into his arms. So very cold. It was strange but pleasant to Leo’s feverish new body temperature. He took them back to their home. Laying his passed out escort on Leo’s own bed. A rush of impulsive selfishness keeping him from communicating with anyone until he was contacted by the Dominion. He excused it with his own disorientation but informed them about the survival of himself and Baelfire Doyle along with their other changes.
Leo had taken to wearing almost no clothing in the house. Something he’d never done before. In an attempt to combat how hot he constantly felt. His had a few times where magic had brought him back a heart beat but it felt so different now. A steady drum beat inside his chest that was distracting in the extreme. He’d ordered food. Things he’d remembered liking when he was still human.
He sensed the change in Baelfire as soon as the other awoke. Speeding up to the room and entering to see the other, whole and awake. Leo should have been expecting the punch, the hit rocking him back as his horns broke from skin and grew in a crescent curving forward like an halo of bone. His skin cracking and bleeding ember light around his eyes.
His black, clawed fingers reached up to Baelfire’s face as the Elysian embraced him, Leo’s palms soaking in the coolness of the other’s skin. “I am not sorry for my choices.” Leo murmured as he brought his mouth down to kiss Baelfire’s lips, violently drinking the temperature difference like cold water in a desert, “I would have found a way to invade that hell if you had not come back…”
imageimage
Baelfire needed to tell the chthonic that this was a fucking miracle, cause it was. He kissed him Leo back, but it was so fucking soft, nothing as violent as the guard. Deep down, he’d known he would get back, but at one point his faith had faltered, but between losing his limbs and closing his eyes as he’d resigned himself to his fate, he woken up here. “I was about to get eaten alive. You wouldn’t have found anything...”
ImageImage

He sighed, touching the guard’s face-- fingers trembling at the features, but still liking them. “Let me see you again.” He would have to tell Leo about Seth and ask if the guy had made it out alive. If he wasn’t there wouldn’t be any point in telling Leo about sharing his secrets with the civilian. But that would be later, cause right now, he needed to see the vamp-- fuck, chthonic.

@undead-kennedy

For him, it'd gone from Gabriel pushing him and being engulfed into light to this moment. No in between. He gasped as he sat right up in bed, touching for what should've been missing limbs, but they were all there. "The fuck..." He murmured to himself, but he knew the answer-- it was there in his blood. He was something new or something he should've been. But his thinking was cut short by the guard entering his own bedroom.

ImageImage

The moment his eyes turned to the vamp, no, a fucking chthonic now, he punched the asshole. "This is all you fucking deserve for leaving me there." Two sec later, he hugged the bastard. "So fucking warm." He liked that even if it was strange. "Please don't leave me behind like that again."

@onyourkneesgrace

Baelfire wasn't the kind to just roll with it. Nah! When he'd finally woken up in Leo's bed of all fucking place, he'd punched the asshole for trapping him inside the house. He'd known they were both changed, but also so fucking the same. But he wasn't about to go outside without understanding everything that he could do. The vamp-- no chthonic now, had described his feathers for him and he'd learn fuckin fast how sensible that shit was. Anyway, apparently, he'd grown back the lost limbs which was fucking weird to him. But after things needed to go back to normal. First thing on his list had been to check on the mia people list then the dead ones. And fuck they had been a lot of people missing, but one that had been declared dead, without a body found, had been Alexander. That was a shock to him. He'd check to find Grace's name, but she had apparently outlived the vamp. They always outlived those people. It was poetic justice to a fuck lot of people.

Apparently, she was now a civilian and he was happy for her. He remembered how brutal it'd been to go back to a cell after Jared. So being a civilian meant she wouldn't have to work as an escort to survive. Baelfire easily got the info on where to found her and went to Piece of Cake. She has to be devasted and freaked out by all those new freedoms and responsibilities-- ex-slaves had all been a lil bit or a fuck lot when released in the care of the Bordel. He entered the bakery, hoping she'd be working or about to be done. He asked for her at the counter and waited.

“Possessive and jealous– yeah that pretty much sums it up. The world is an amazing place man, you should see it. I was lucky enough my parents made it possible for me to see it before I became blind. Ain’t fully blind mind you, but you get what I mean.” The old days of Covaire. It wasn’t anything to miss. Maybe some people that had died or disappeared, but other than that Christ knew he didn’t miss anything.
“Sadly, I don’t know how to reach him.” Nor did he knew how to reach guard Freeman if something ever happened to Leo. Baelfire chuckled softly. “Believe me man, it’s better out than in. Anyway, most people will say but why if they don'tcare about me the same way? But I ain’t seeing how that should change how you feel. Though if you ain’t ready, don'tdo it, but don’t take too much time cause look in the type of shit you can get?” He wanted to go back so fucking much, but he knew there was a chance Leo had been killed on the other side while he was here.

“It’s not that easy to just leave…I’m by myself in this city, and I would need someone to watch my store”. Seth’s parents taught him about the world via textbooks and articles. With his job, he never really needed to see the world like that, he just needed connections to people who lived everywhere else. The only time he left was for college, but that wasn’t much of an experience for him.

“When that guy left, people kept confusing him for me…I got a little annoyed by it…but now I can see it was probably because they missed him”, Seth sighed. He didn’t think he’d ever reach that point with other people. He didn’t leave lasting impressions, or at least he didn’t think he did. “I guess I’m just afraid of allowing myself to feel that way about people. Growing up, I was told that relationships were distractions, and it stuck to me. I don’t really trust people…”

“Pretty sure you have friends who could hold the fort for you for a week man. If you have people to return to, you have people to back you up too." He said with a lil smile, one of the most sincere he'd given the guy in his life.

"I would've been annoyed to. I guess to some, it would've been a compliment and to others an insult. From me, it would've been a compliment." Baelfire wondered if he should tell the guy that he was right about it. Especially in Covaire, but it didn't just stop at that it was so much more. "They are a distraction, but whether it's a good one or bad one is up to you man. And you trust me enough with you life right now. Just stick to the good ones."

Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha Sharanam Ganesha

The moment he'd started to run with the civilian on his back, he felt with the kind of conviction that only someone faced with facts could have, that they would survive this, but not together. Something in him knew that they were about to be separated, but that it was alright. He ran up the hill, following the civilian's indications about where the crack was. But they weren't the only ones seeing it. They needed to jump to get to the crack.

And just as he was about to jump, Baelfire felt it, that dread that he wouldn't make this one. And he was right as someone shot his knee, making him lose balance as his lower leg got detached from the rest of his body. He grabbed Seth quickly and threw him with all the strength he had toward the crack. "Don't die on me now Seth." Was the last thing he told the civilian before falling off the hill while the other guy disappeared.

Baelfire was able to grip at some rock to stop his fall, but with his cut off leg bleeding, he knew it was just a matter of time before some demons got more interested in a meal than the crack. Clearly this was why he'd been shot, to become a distraction. He tried to lift the limb up to slow down the bleeding as much as he could. He needed to drag himself up the cliff and reconnect his leg before something happened to it.

He was halfway up when he heard that fucking noise and he couldn't understand why his fucking sixth sense wasn't acting up more than it was. Was someone about to save him or was it his time and he was fucking at peace with it? Cause he sure wasn't ready to die with punching the vamp one last time for this. Five smaller demons came from all directions on the cliff side, pulling at his limbs until he had to defend himself to a point that he lost his grip, falling down while they tore at him.

He fell to the ground, missing an arm and the rest of his leg. He felt nothing, but the tears on his face, resigning himself to his death. "Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu." Baelfire closed his eyes. And everything fell silent.

He opened his eyes, gasping as he saw his best friend, Gabriel. He was dead alright for sure now. The man hugged him, smiling and he hugged him back tightly. "Don't make that face Bael. Just wanted to say hi." Baelfire was confused by that, before a bright light half blinded him and Gabriel pushed him away from him... and then, everything was engulfed in light.

“Honestly? Outside of Covaire– it’s the best thing in world, but in Covaire, it’s one of the worst thing that can happen to you. Maybe less now cause slavery was abolished. But back then… I tried once to thank Bryce’s Master for taking care of him, the one before the last and he was so angry at me for it and Christ knows I’m still wondering what was there to get mad at. But the guy compelled Bryce to forget about me and each time he’d get too close to me, it would literally make him sick.” In a place like Covaire, the more you cared about someone the more you had to be willing to hurt them for both of your survival. Bryce and him had gone through so much shit together…
Baelfire smiled. “Nah. Don’t be sorry for him or me. He got out of town thanks to Mistress he saw as a mother. I’m more concerned about him not knowing how badly she got hurt during the siege last year.” He reassured Seth, cause he was happy Bryce wasn’t around to see this shit. “I know I might have said shit to scare you, but whoever that is waiting for you, or caring for you or just someone you care about, tell them. Better regret saying it, than regret holding back.”

“I’ve never been outside of Covaire…So I don’t think I have a chance to experience that. People back there were possessive for no reason. They had something to prove perhaps, and didn’t take lightly to those who wanted to take their property away from them”. Seth knew masters back then had bigger egos than they did now. He had gotten on the bad side of a few of them when he was younger, and it scared him.

He shrugged, “If he’s out of the city, then he probably doesn’t know”. The human sighed and leaned back away from Baelfire. Telling someone how he felt was easier said than down. It scared him so much, but he also didn’t want to regret not telling someone how he felt. “Yeah, maybe I will…Let’s just focus on getting out of here first though”.

Knowing that Baelfire was blind made Seth respect the wolf a lot more than before. The escort had lived in the city since there were still slaves, and that meant he managed to survive then without his sight. That wasn’t an easy feat. He wondered if others knew. Given that Baelfire was still alive, he doubted anyone knew. He was right, the wolf was smart and a survivor.
“…What’s it like to have someone like that?” he asked innocently. Seth really wanted to know though. He couldn’t think of anyone who made him feel that way, or who had that kind of a bond with him. He could see the tears on the wolf’s face, sensing that he really missed this friend of his. “I’m sorry he’s gone…I-…I have people back home I want to get back to as well. I bet they’re real mad at me for getting into this mess…I wonder if they even know if I’m alive”. Seth sighed and put his hands in front of him, “There’s one of them that I really like, but I didn’t have the courage to tell them…Guess it’ll be a good time to tell them when I get back, huh”.

“Honestly? Outside of Covaire-- it’s the best thing in world, but in Covaire, it’s one of the worst thing that can happen to you. Maybe less now cause slavery was abolished. But back then... Seth had not been expecting an answer, nor did he expect that answer. Not feeling pain wasn’t really a big issue for him, really it was probably a blessing at times to not feel pain. What caused some concern in him was when Baelfire told Seth that he was blind. Now, that sudden information dump didn’t make Seth reconsider his trust in Baelfire. The wolf had done well at keeping them alive before Seth knew about his vision, so it wasn’t like all of that was going to go to shit now that he knew. No, he just felt jealous most of all. Baelfire couldn’t see the horrors they were currently going through. he didn’t see the demon’s monstrous faces and sharp teeth, nor the horrible landscape they had been running through for the past few weeks. He wouldn’t have vivid nightmares of demons chasing after him like Seth would. That just wasn’t fair.
Seth went quiet for a long moment, just sitting there in silence. He had heard of the person Baelfire spoke of. Seth was confused for him for a while about a year ago, but that confusion seemed to stop. “Best friend huh?” Seth only ever had one of those, but now he wasn’t sure if he could consider that person his best friend or not. He chewed on his bottom lip and scooted closer to Baelfire, “Do you want to see him again?…I mean, I’m sure I’m not an exact copy of him but…if he’s your best friend, you deserve to see him again. Might make getting through this place easier”.

Baelfire waited, but the guy remained quiet. Christ knew he could figure out just about all the possible scenarios going through Seth’s mind. And one of them was actually the only reason he was grateful for being practically blind-- cause fuck, just seeing the shape of those creatures had been more than enough for him.

“Simplest way to describe him. But he was like the brother I’d never had. At one point, we dreamt of having our own pack. We almost got claimed together twice-- but Masters don’t like it when their slaves are too close. He was my Baby Boy.” He said quietly, blinking as it hit him that he had tears running down his cheeks. Baelfire shook his head at the offer. “Thanks Seth. I really appreciate it, but you ain’t Bryce and it gives me more hope to fight my way out of here to go back to the people home than seeing a face that resembled his.”

Om Gam Ganapataye Namaha Sharanam Ganesha

It was his time to keep an eye out while the civilian tried to rest a lil bit. They’d faced many demons down here and most of them had been humans or supernaturals. Baelfire was young, but he hadn’t become Shutcall for no reasons– he could outsmart a psycho fuck when he needed too. And when it came to the mindless demons, the best solution had been to hide or kill the smallest with falling objects. After all, that was how he’d killed that big one before.

Baelfire suddenly looked up like he was about to see something with he mostly useless eyes. Something was about to happen, but he couldn’t tell what, but t wasn’t a bad feeling. This was the first time he’d really felt true hope of getting out of here. He was so fucking tempted to wake Seth up to tell him about it, but that wasn’t something he’d explained to the guy. His sixth sense wasn’t something he talked about with many people.

But one thing was sure– with the civilian knowing his secrets, he needed to tell the Alpha too. Cause he doubted the guy would appreciate learning that last. It didn’t jeopardize his work, but it just felt fucking wrong to hide that from him after every-fucking-thing he’d done for Leo. Christ, his mind was rambling all over the place again. He sighed and started to meditate instead.

After half an hour, he felt a fuck lot better!

His ears suddenly caught something from afar, making him jump into a defensive stance. He tapped onto Seth’s shoulder, placing his had over the civilian’s mouth right away. It was something both of them had started to do to make sure the other wouldn’t talk, but would be warned that something wasn’t right. He listened carefully again. “Something’s happening.” He murmured to the other guy.

imageimage

And then the ground started to tremble, but it wasn’t earthquake, it was thousands of paws, or whatever the fuck you called demons’ feet, running. But what he heard that Seth couldn’t was that the noises was constant, but also seemed to disappear– like someone running out the door.

“Our way out–” He gasped under his breath.

As soon as he felt like he could chill for a sec, Baelfire removed his upper gear cause he needed to remove the fucking bullets. He bumped into Seth a bit, not realizing the guy had been touching him. “M'sorry. And yeah, I’m fine. Believe me man, I’ve got worse done to me when I was a slave.” He was fucking happy the civilian was a guy or he would’ve had to deal with his stress around women and sudden movements.
“Nah, but I can remove most of them, I think.” Which he did with his claws, digging into the wounds without blinking an eye and too fucking done with this shit too fake pain. He was pretty sure the bastards were dead by now. He hadn’t paid them much attention– more focused on getting as far as he could so that they wouldn’t get caught in the crossfire. Obviously, there was one that he could brush his fingers along the bullet hole, but now take out the damn thing.
“You have to do the last one. Look in the first aid kit, got some stuff in there if you don’t wanna use your fingers like I did.” He smiled warmly at Seth, something he’d never done before. “I’m alright. Just need that last bullet out. They were regular bullet so ain’t gonna take too much time to heal. Just gotta clean the blood so I can mask my scent again.”
Once the last bullet was out, he started to shiver randomly. Wasn’t because he was cold, but because sensation was coming back all over his upper body as he healed. “You’re good? I think we deserve some food, yeah?” He’d only brought jerky with him cause it was lightweight and easy to store. As for water, he was equipped like military so he had a piss filter on him.

“I don’t doubt that”, Seth said. It was so weird watching the wolf carried on as if nothing was wrong, when in fact there was a lot wrong. He sat back as he watched Baelfire dig the bullets out of him. Once again, there was no sign of pain on the wolf’s face. Wolves felt pain, that was what Seth kept telling himself. All species felt pain, it wasn’t like their nerves suddenly died when they turned. Baelfire should have been screaming in pain just from what he was doing to himself, but he wasn’t

Seth was so lost in thought, he didn’t hear the escort at first, and just blinked at him. “What?…Oh, yeah okay…uh this might hurt?” No it wouldn’t. He dug around for the bullet, occasionally prodding around to see if Baelfire felt anything. Nope, nothing. Once the last bullet was out, Seth dropped the tool and sat back. The human nodded slowly, still staring at Baelfire.

“How are you not in pain?” he blurted out. Seth was curious by nature, and once he got caught up on something, he very rarely let it go. It consumed him, until he couldn’t take it anymore. “You got shot, and you just dug out the bullets with your own hands…Not to mention, you carried me while horribly wounded, but it didn’t even look like it bothered you. So what’s the deal?”.

"Doubt it." He mumbled under his breath at the warning. The worst would be the void and that was nothing. It was strange to explain the weird mutation her had of CIP. Most people just felt nothing, but in his case, it was literally nothing. Christ how could he explain nothing to someone? It was fucking impossible.

Baelfire turned his head to the civilian at the blurted out question. What was the point of keeping this a secret when it could fuck with their survival. Seth literally trusted him blindly without knowing the wolf was practically blind himself. He had to think his tongue clicking was just a bad habit or some similar shitty stuff. "I don't feel pain. I was born with a genetic condition called congenital insensitivity to pain or CIP for short. Usually medication is enough to fix it, but some rarer case cannot be helped. Problem with that is that when a normal person would feel something wrong in their body cause of the pain, I wasn't feeling it. That's why the infection in my eyes got so bad that by the time they caught it, the damages were irreversible. I should've been blind by 21-22, but I became a wolf around that time and whatever was left of my vision was kept. So I see shadows during the day, but at night I see nothing." He admitted, murmuring cause talking normally wasn't a good idea in this place.

"And the reason why I know what you look like without touching your face is caused I was told you and my best friend Bryce had an uncanny resemblance. Just never mentioned it cause you're you and he's him. And yes, HE knows."

They’d been going at this for days now– it had to be days right? Truth was that they’d almost crossed path with other people couples of time, but each time, something wasn’t sitting well with his sixth sense so he’d tell Seth to hide with him until the people were gone. They weren’t the only ones for sure in here. He’d almost felt tempted to team up with an older wolf, but when Baelfire had caught the scent, he’d hidden once more with Seth. That guy hated Leo and he would’ve been a target for sure. Luckily for them, they were still covered in demons’ goo, so their scents were masked.
“Fuck…” He muttered, pushing Seth behind him. “Whatever happens, I’m human.” He murmured to the civilian. This had been the safest road based on his sixth sense so he couldn’t fucking imagine the shit storm on the other paths.

Hunters– he knew that fucking scent anywhere. Three of them. Their only advantages on them was that they couldn’t use their guns and didn’t know one of them was supernatural. The way he dressed, Baelfire looked more like a soldier than a wolf. Obviously the asshole were only loyal to themselves and wanted whatever the two of them had gathered so far– sick fucks!
Obviously, he said no and a battle followed. Baelfire had been trained in combat by a navy seal and other skilled fighters, but he usually used trigger points to fight cause it put down people faster. He would’ve easily won, but one of them had to be a fucking idiot and had shot him in the shoulder, but it hadn’t stopped him but had alerted anything else around them. The wolf disarmed the guy quickly, keeping the gun before grabbing Seth and ran away as the other guy apparently forgot where he was and shot Baelfire in the back.
“Shit, shit, shit…” he growled under his breath, but it didn’t sound like pain, but panic as he heard the creatures approaching, but they were going for the noises. And soon enough, the guys seemed to run in the opposite direction. “Hold on tight man, this ain’t gonna be safe.” He sped up and jump over a deep ravine. It was just narrow enough to make it to the other side. He hid them both in a small dark cavern. They would be safe for a while with the attention drawn away from them.

As time ticked by, and more days passed, Seth’s cold exterior towards the wolf chipped away. It was funny to think how people changed when they were faced with survival. He had learned to trust the wolf and all of his senses. Baelfire was able to pick up on things Seth couldn’t, and the human never questioned him. So far, the both of them had managed to survive, and it didn’t make sense to do anything differently.

He let the wolf do most of the physical fighting. Seth claimed that he just didn’t care for killing, and wasn’t good at it. Despite his newfound trust in the wolf, he couldn’t bring himself to show the true side of him. Seth was used to Baelfire pushing him behind, and keeping him safe. He was truly grateful for it too. He nodded his head quickly, as he eyed the people Baelfire saw.

They spoke, and eventually a fight broke out. Seth thought it would be an easy fight, having seen Baelfire do it a couple times now. That was until the hunter pulled out a gun and shot the escort. Seth almost yelled, but he was yanked away before he could. The noises, the noises were like a dinner bell for the monsters. There was no way they could stay where they were now. There was also no way they could run away after Baelfire got shot in the back and the shoulder.

Seth thought the other would be incapable of moving because of the pain. Sure, his body would heal, but it didn’t stop the pain. Seth had been shot in the shoulder before too, and he knew how horrible it was. Although, Baelfire didn’t seem phased at all. It was weird. Seth doubted it was adrenaline or any shit like that. It honestly seemed like Baelfire didn’t feel it at all.

He held on to the wolf, watching him carefully as Baelfire carried them to safety. Once it was just the two of them in the small cave, Seth sat up slowly and reached out to touch one of the wounds, “Fuck…That idiot almost got us killed. You’d think he’d be smarter than that. Are you alright? Here, let me see it”. He tried to tug on the wolf’s arm, wanting to help him clean the blood off of him, “Did it go straight through? It hurts like hell when it doesn’t…”

Seth dropped his hand in his lap and leaned back against the cave wall. Just like with others, Seth was growing concern over the wolf. It was no longer because he was a guard dog (as Baelfire put it before), but because he actually trusted the guy. “Should we stay here for an hour or two? Rest up and make sure you’re alright?”

As soon as he felt like he could chill for a sec, Baelfire removed his upper gear cause he needed to remove the fucking bullets. He bumped into Seth a bit, not realizing the guy had been touching him. "M'sorry. And yeah, I'm fine. Believe me man, I've got worse done to me when I was a slave." He was fucking happy the civilian was a guy or he would've had to deal with his stress around women and sudden movements.

"Nah, but I can remove most of them, I think." Which he did with his claws, digging into the wounds without blinking an eye and too fucking done with this shit too fake pain.
