So guess  what we are doing tomorrow? Just drawing a random play from the entire Shakespeare canon, then performing it eight hours later. No big.

If you are in Vancouver you should probably come check us out- Free entry, plus Xander, Emma, Claire, Candace, and Nate all playing randomly cast characters in who-knows-what play! You could see Marlow!Hamlet, or Henry!Ophelia, or even Will!Bottom. If you're not in Vancouver, you can still mess with us from afar- we are ALSO drawing a random location and time to set our play in- we are taking suggestions until 11amPST Check it out- it's gonna be weird! Shakesweird!

While we still hold on hoping for another video, I wanted to recommend Blankverse for your Shakespearian needs. It’s basically an adaptation of William Shakespeare’s life. It’s really good, and really unappreciated and I highly recommend it.

ps, blankverse is taking part in the comedy coup competition thing, in case you didn’t know that: http://comedycoup.cbc.ca/cc/canada-2014

"Described as a tale of black magic, romance and revenge, the drama is set in 1590s London and chronicles a young Will Shakespeare’s rise to prominence as he finds himself caught in a deadly conflict among three witches and the most powerful woman in the world, Queen Elizabeth."

Not sure how I feel about this - at least it’s not Anonymous the TV show. I guess it will make teenagers more interested in learning about Shakespeare and his works, right?

wait so they want to make blank verse, but set in the 1590s? preposterous. who even came up with this idea?

We've been a little too busy with crazy missions each week to properly let you guys know, but here it is:

we're competing in CBC Comedy Coup for a chance to make more Blank Verse, with some ca$h money$ for all involved this time!!!

We're making pithy videos each week to prove to everyone who didn't watch the show that we've got the chops, but you probably already know whether you'd like to see more of Will, Ben and "the gang."

We've already advanced to the top 110 teams, but we'll be needing !!!FAN VOTES!!! to advance to the top 50. Voting opens on Thursday and, once you register, there's a bunch of tricksy ways you can earn extra votes, by watching and rating and commenting on other projects (may we recommend Killing It, by some of the creative team behind AoJE?)

Xander Williams and Charlie Allison are putting their heads together to become the ultimate screenwriting super team for the pilot, and we need your support to shoot it so when you've got the time, please check out our page, try not to think about how we ran the most unsuccessful Kickstarter campaign of all time, and, come Thursday, GIVE US ALL YOUR VOTES

(jk lol give us the amount of votes you think we deserve)

the guardian imagines what historical figures might look like today. my personal favourite is shakespeare, reincarnated as a shoreditch hipster.

but can you imagine how’d he’d sound a loft party?

"I’m going to subvert the whole, like, narrative ideal by telling you upfront that these two, like, teenagers are going to fall in love and die, and then do it. So there’s no more hiding in the words. Stark, yeah? And then, I think I’ll hide a sonnet in their big scene together, right? It’ll be subversive, because only, you know, people who are up on sonnets will get it…..what? No, she’s thirteen—a little edgy but that’s art, man. Art.”
