Hello nerds! I have returned. My laptop rudely attempted to kill itself and rob me of my tumblr hobby and made me alternately rude to everyone I RP with. If one of those people was you, please let me know and we can continue our shenanigans.

Sorry for not being around much lately. There’s been some stuff in my personal life. Thanks to everyone who’s been patient with me. :) I should be getting to replies today.

Tyrion wandered the halls of Casterly Rock, not exactly in a straight line. It was 10:30 am, life in Westeros was still terrible, and wine was still plenty. So, throw all those elements into one equation, and Tyrion’s answer was that he was drunk. He wandered into his mother’s room, to check on her, and make sure that her health was alright.

“Good morning, Mother. Or, it might be somewhere in the world. Feeling alright?”

She bit her lip to hold back a giggle when he dropped his goblet, but managed to compose herself when he picked it up. “I’m not a Lady, Lord Tyrion, but you may call me so if it pleases you. My aunt is the queen in this family; I am a Princess at best.”

Rhaenys raised an eyebrow. “I must say, a man who betrays his family in favor of those they would consider to be foes is not a man who breeds much trust.” She smiled. “Though, I can’t begrudge you; the Lannisters led to our downfall. For now, there’s nothing that I need but for you to know that I am secret. Many know I am here, few know who I am.”

“I’ve never been one people look to when they wish to have comfortable feelings of trust. Especially within my own mistrustful family. My family have ever been more my foes, and foes of the Realm, than any other member of any other House. You have done me no harm, Princess, and I’ll do you no harm. I believe your aunt is the key to saving our world. I aim to help her do so in whatever way I can. I shall ever be at your service as well.

The entirety of this situation amused her immensely.  Did they think she was some sort of assassin, or was Varys looking to see this Imp fall before his own plans.  Sending a Sandsnake to treat with a Lannister, even a small one that her father had seen as a baby, was a risky proposition at best and possibly fatal for him at worst.  Best to go and listen though.  Arianne would want to hear the tale, and Uncle Doran, the slugabed prince as well, and Father, who would laugh.  Family was ever family, and came first.  So when she stepped in, dressed in pale green and pale blue as her gown, hair tied back so demurely, she curtsies as modest as a maid  “And I you, my lord.  It is an honor to stand before such an illustrious Lannister.”

Entering the secluded library at the Citadel, he too is dressed more up than he otherwise would be, a coat of gold and red. His hair is combed, his face is shaved. His hideous appearance shows at least some interest in appearing presentable.

He waves his hand dismissively at her comments, perching himself on a railing to more directly meet her gaze.

“You and I both know that I am the least member of perhaps the most despicable House in all of Westeros. Call me Tyrion, if you must. My mother gave me that name. My father gave me the other. I did not choose my birth, and wouldn’t have picked that one. Not for all the gold in my account. Not for ten times that amount.”

He calmed himself, drinking from his goblet heavily.

“Oh, excuse me. Would you care for some wine?” He leaves the bottle where she may reach it if she wishes.

“I need your help. Everyone knows that no Lannister should sit the Iron Throne. I need you to help me make that dream a reality.”

+ 1 broken chain

She didn’t expect such suggestion. Of course she hated chained them, she was their mother after all and it was quite ironic – and sad – that someone that broke too many chains, had her own sons chained. “They’re killing people. I don’t like that they’re not free. But they killed innocent people. Can I allow them to kill people that don’t deserve that?”

“’Allow’ is a bit of a strong word, Your Grace. If Dragonstone erupted and killed everyone on the island, would that be your fault? If the winters came and everyone froze to death, would that be your fault? If a sailor crosses the sea and is swallowed up in a typhoon, is that your fault? Your Grace is naturally empathic towards her people, but she must realize that there are forces beyond even her control, for which she should assume no responsibility.

Well, this conversation has taken a turn for the strange. Cersei  allowed herself to be hugged, though not  with- out an expression of utter bewilderment forming  upon her  features.  She  could not remember the  last  time affection  had  passed between the two of  them.  She did not particularly want to, either.

And then Tyrion began to cry – a brief crying spell, but        one that did not escape Cersei’s notice  –  and   things        became stranger still.

To comfort him would have been pointless,  obvious in its disingenuous nature, so Cersei only listened in silen- ce,  breaking  it only long after he finished.  “I  wouldn’t do that unless you gave me a reason to,” she said, and that  much,  at least, was true. “So I suppose  we  shall be keeping each other in check, after all.”

He sniffled a bit. Nightmares maybe. Wiping his nose he sat back in his seat opposite her. He spent a minute adjusting his clothes, focusing on his shoes.

“Indeed.” He cleared his throat and spoke loudly. “’Check’ is a term from Cyvasse actually. Do you play?” She had a... kind of a classic beauty, he supposed. Still, Jamie had a madness passing understanding. If they were Targaryens, maybe. No... no. Not that. Not ever.

His bold words are rewarded with a smile of her own, though she’s not about to let him distract her too much from the game. She sets his king in check again with her knight before leaning back, sweeping her hair around one shoulder.

“I agree with you, from my perspective there is… there would still be harm, but there is no saving him from himself, so all that’s left is to save others.” It’s not an easy conclusion for her to come to, and her heart considers those that would be saddened by his loss - his mother, brother, a sister already far from home and without her family. It’s is always about balance, though.

“You’re a married man,” she reminds him, though there’s amusement in her voice. “Are you asking for a friend, or simply making conversation?”

He gulped a few times from his wine goblet. “I am indeed married. Sort of. You must be the one joking if you consider Sansa’s punishment a marriage. I’m a jokester too. I’m joking with you of course. You’re not dating. You’re above all this.” He gestured expansively with his hands. “Let me shift topics then. Other than the brutal murder of the boy king and my nephew, what will save us? What’s your advice from your higher perch?”

“Lord Tyrion, I don’t believe we’ve met.” Rhaenys abandoned her shadowed doorway in favor of the light, stepping into view and looking at the man. “My name is Rhaenys Targaryen; I won’t bore you with my titles, I’m sure you know at least most of them.”

Her survival was a secret; she wasn’t sure if Daenerys had told him of her yet, but she wanted to meet him before he could send a message out. Rhaenys didn’t quite trust this little Lannister man, and she wanted him to see what he was betraying, should he decide to betray her to his family.

It’s not often the shrewd little man was surprised, but here, in this case, he was surprised enough to drop his metallic wine goblet.

“Seven hells.” Two Targaryens? He most certainly didn’t know of her existence. “Pardon me, my lady Targaryen, I was merely caught off guard. He picked up his goblet wiped the rim with his fingers, giving himself a little time to think and gather his thoughts.

“I know that my last name doesn’t inspire much confidence. But, I mean House Targaryen no harm. I have no interest in seeing a Lannister sit the Iron Throne. I think that would be disastrous for our realm. Such thoughts are not considered criminal away from King’s Landing, and so I speak them freely here. I came as advisor and Hand to Lady Daenerys ‘Stormborn’ Targaryen. Little did I know what surprises she would have in store for me.” Varys would be laughing now, surely.

“In what way may I help you, my lady?

Tyrion needed a solution to this Joffrey problem. He couldn’t bear to watch the abuse of the Sansa girl. He knew he couldn’t do it alone. Everybody watched him constantly, they’d invent reasons to hate him, even if he did nothing. So, he needed an unconventional solution. Varys had arranged for a meeting with Tyene Sand. The Sand Snakes were very talented, and no one would see it coming. But he needed to talk to her about it. He met her at the preestablished time and place.

“Thank you for coming. I’m glad to finally meet you.”

Watching Tyrion sip from the small bottle settled Cersei’s nerves      somewhat, though it did not calm them completely. So you have      not  planned to end me today. Very well, Tyrion; let us hope  you      have not planned to return tomorrow  with more sinister purpose.

“I have oft fantasized of doing that very thing,”  she confessed, a wry smile appearing briefly on her features.   One brow arched in skepticism  as  he continued, though.  Better than Jaime  swings his  sword,  or swings his sword?  Either way, I doubt  it  entirely. “Ros, then.   I shall seek her out next time my business takes me into  that  part  of  the  city…though, I confess,  I  hope  that  day never comes. Still, I feel the scales are tipped in your favor.  You could  ruin my life if you wanted.” The reality of those words  sits like a stone in her belly, heavy, terrifying.

He tried to offer her the pink bottle again, setting it down where she could reach it. He had an unfathomable and unreasonable desire to comfort his sister. He climbed up on her bed next to her and hugged her head, moving some of her hair out of the way.

The moment passed, he let her go and he sat back down, brushing a tear away from his eye. He cleared his throat and said, “And you could dash me off the high tower if you wished, for no reason at all. None would mourn me. You could even say I attempted to rape you. None would see that crime beneath me. I have no agency when it comes to me and you, when it comes between me and anyone else here at Casterly Rock.” What will it be like living the rest of his life with that knowledge, with Cersei finally aware of that knowledge?
