"I know," Eirene replied, nodding, as she met the other girl’s gaze.  "And I’m glad that I can stay here, but I had other reasons for not telling y - Shit."
She did not know how to do this.  Jamie was not just simply bright; she was fierce.  Eirene imagined a little fierceness came in handy if you had to deal with Sebastian and his mates on a daily basis, and Jamie could probably grow claws when it came right down to it.  Long and sharp ones.
"Do you have - bloody hell."  Second curse in forty-five seconds.  "Do you have any makeup remover?"  She asked, trying to keep her tone light.  Fierce or not, Jamie deserved the whole story, even the part hidden by dark eyeliner and an almost overly generous amount of concealer.  Eirene wanted to lie about why she needed to remove her makeup, but that would only create a bigger mess, so her request hung in the air, waiting to be answered.

Jamie wasn't quite sure why Eirene was asking for make-up remover, but now she had to suspect the worst. A pregnancy scare... acting as though there was someone constantly looking over her shoulder, confiding in an unlikely person... how had she not recognized this before? Was she really that distracted with her father that he couldn't even notice her best friend in distress—apparently.

Nevertheless, it would be better for Eirene to just come out with it as opposed to her prying for it. So she stood up, and disappeared down the hall. It took her a second to grab the bottle of remover and a clean wedge before making it back to Eirene.

"Here..." she returned, her voice soft and almost comforting. Most of the school population made her out to be this ice queen, but given the right circumstances she could be kind. Though she assumed that something was very wrong with Eirene, and once she found out the truth... well, she would show the world an ice queen.
