That last panel with the ribbon around the sword was such a lovely intimate little touch <3
Kenshin will never explicitly state his romantic feelings for Kaoru but,
So have we gotten anywhere close to finding Kaoru's dad or nah?
Have you seen RK The Beginning? If so, what are your thoughts
Haven't seen it yet. Loved the arc in the manga but to me it's not interesting enough to sit through a whole movie for. Also I'm kinda disappointed that they didn't do the Jinchuu arc justice so I'm afraid I'll just get annoyed. Petty perhaps, but ohh well. Have you watched it? If so, what did you think?
look. there were wonderful things about rurouni kenshin: the final.
Cinematography was perfection, probably one of the prettiest of all of them. the shots of kaoru and megumi talking with the umbrella? the color theory? All of that was gorgeous.
Fight scenes: nailed it
Acting; superb, wonderful, fantastic, i love all of you.
MISAO AND AOSHIβS JOURNEY OMG I LOVE THEM SO MUCH
BUT HOW could the ball be dropped so badly on the heart of jinchuu. itβs literally right there, spelled out, sourced material like!?!?! (gonna put beneath in a cut so that itβs not spoiled.Β
So about the movie....SPOILERS AHEAD
Great acting in a couple of moments:
1. Kaoru talking with Megumi about how hard it must have been for Tomoe and how she felt so sad for her.
2. Kenshin apologizing to Enishi.
3. Enishi...just...Enishi.
4. Hand holding
5. Sano and Meg
The whole of the movie was action. Don't get me wrong, the action may have surpassed the rest of the movies.
But that's it.
And I think the problem lies in the fact that Jinchu is just VERY heavy, with a lot of nuanced moments between a lot of people. There were SO MANY missed opportunities between, for example, K&K(honestly you send her after him in the rain just for him to take it, say thank you with zero feeling...that's it, that was the scene), Kao&Enishi, K&E and even K&T...
Also they did Kaoru dirty with lack of action scenes (though I do get it cause the Japanese are hella careful with actresses that are mothers) AND they did Sano dirty too...
Also we honestly didn't need Soujiro...
All in all, it was a whole lotta action with a whole lot of attempts at feeling but falling incredibly short.
For bringing the characters to life, though, Otomo&co will have my eternal gratitude.
I'm sorry but I'm just going to go in a corner and sob because I literally cannot. I'm done, DONE, I don't care. There is no justice, NONE. Don't talk to me, don't look at me. Isayama has tortured me for 7 years and that ending just mortal combat finished me to despair the depths of which you cannot imagine because WHAT IN THE EVERLOVING %<"( WAS THAT ENDING HUH?!?
alsothankyouisayamaforahelluvarideidontliketheendingcompletelybutthankyouforthetorture
I canβt decide which one I like better in this sequence, I love the manga part when Kenshin reassured Kaoru and touched her hand, but the anime gives more chilling vibes.
