I’ve always found Sally Boy Candy Bar truly fascinating. It’s a lo-fi bop with such a great sound! I’ve always theorized that it was about transphobia that you may have overheard. Is it?
JF: It definitely a word salad. Like a lot of people, when we first moved to New York, discovering Asia businesses with wild combinations of English words was very startling. Sally Boy Candy Bar was just a shop in Chinatown, but obviously it's a much more loaded set of words for English speakers. John's lyric just carries on with the jumbling of more familiar phrases.

One day I was having a long think about Vanilla Ice's indelible Ninja Rap from the TMNT 2: The Secret of the Ooze soundtrack and I thought just a little too hard about a musical question posed early on.
Blue's gloves have been giving me problems, both having to do a self-color line on them to make them pop and having them still get lost in her hair. I inked and colored a few random sketches I'd done of her recently to try out dark blue gloves, and I think they pop better.
