ABOUT THE SHOW:

We hurtle ourselves confidently forward through the world in a state of steadfast determination, assured in our trajectory in all ways. Or do we take cautious calculated steps through uncharted emotional topography, trailblazing our way just beyond the known? Or rather, do we meander, rest and reflect, linger, languish, and give our innate sense of observation, exploration and understanding a chance to quietly expand?

I am looking back through past work in order to glean insight from my own images, hoping to strengthen, power, and sustain my practice in the present. Revisiting these moments of pure intention, happenstance, and curiosity in this way, shows me not only where and when I’ve been, but how we all may celebrate the lovely textured details, delicate and bold alike.

I invite you to sit with these selections out of my living archive, and see elements of a template for how to be a mindful and active participant in the world.

2nd Annual Makers at the Mill Holiday Bazaar

we are happy to participate in the Makers at the Mill Holiday Bazaar Saturday, November 18, 10am-5pm at the Eno Arts Mill, hosted by The Orange County Arts Commission (OCAC) and Orange County Arts Alliance (OCAA)

we will have photographic prints and Work in limited editions, signed and numbered on offer. please join us at the bazaar and bring home or gift something to support your local arts.

The Eno Arts Mill is a multipurpose arts space that includes a gallery, classroom, and 17 artist studios. In addition to the show vendors, the event will feature festive food and beverage, open Eno Arts Mill Artist Studios, Paint it Orange Plein Air Paint-out and Clayworks Pottery Guild exhibit in the gallery, live music, and more.

Based on last year’s overwhelming community response, to allow for more vendor and shopping space, this year’s Bazaar will be held outdoors. The Eno Arts Mill will be open for visitors and restrooms, but all vendors will be located outside in the parking lot.

come meet the artists of golden belt artists studio #13 at the 3rd Annual Fall Saxy Artisan Faire at Haw River Mushrooms Farm. if you haven’t been able to come to durham to see our new "SMALL WALL," which offers choice artist's prints and other one-off limited pieces all designed to be under $25, this will be a nice opportunity to peep them in person.

bring a friend, bring yourself; we'd love to meet and greet you, and send you home with an awesome piece.

From the hosts:

Have yourself a Saxy Time at the 3rd Annual Fall Saxy Artisan Faire at Haw River Mushrooms Farm. We'll have 25 of your favorite food, farm and handmade artisanal vendors on site to share their goods and talents.

Entrance is free, attendees are encouraged to TAKE THE CHALLENGE to source 75% of their upcoming week's menu and 50% of their holiday shopping from local businesses, and we'll have everything you need to get that deliciously done on November 5th!

Onsite food will include the Faire Food Favorite "Potato Tornadoes", Lions Mane "Crab" Cakes, and Grown Up Grilled Cheese from Haw River Mushrooms. Live music and kids area with bubbles and play space.

Zine Machine Durham Printed Matter Festival

"THAI TIME: I’m dreaming for you too" ongoing installation

This work is exhibiting at the Golden Belt Artist Studios Main gallery, from September 4th - 30th, 2023, in Durham, NC.

about the work:

These images represent part of my ongoing exploration of immigrant familial memory, echoes of legacy and expectation, and how unknown and unspoken generational traumas shape our present sense of Self.

I’m making an attempt at moving forward in my life, through a studied consideration of past and present. It’s one uncomfortable and necessary survey out of many, looking to see where you exist in that place between ancestral histories and present day. Perhaps we find more of our substantial truths in the basic questioning. Who? What? Where? Why? When? And How?

The Installation:

Through the active compilation of new photographic prints, images from family albums, personal artifacts, and connected via representative Thai-Buddhist sacred threads, I hope to rediscover connections of what was, what might have been, what is, and how it all could be.

Original archival giclée signed art prints will be available for purchase in Studio 13.
