      “Sorry kid.         Maybe next time.         I recently returned from a mission and the only thing i want is to relax.         I hope you understand.”

    Salmen colored eyes brows twitched at the sound of being called kid. There was nothing more that he hated then being called. All the cutesy nicknames that Gray spout never come close to being called kid. Despite his internal struggle, Natsu was upset about being turned down. 

   "One; don't call me kid! Two; I've been waiting for you to come home and you turn down such a battle between two awesome dragon slayers?! Laxus, you've become boring!"

Lucy saw his smile and couldn’t help but return it. “We can ask Wendy if you’re still in bad shape when we get back to the guild okay? But first we need to get you some rest,” Soon they could see the town, which caused Lucy to give out a sigh of relief. since they were close to resting. “Almost there” her wounds may not have been as bad as Natsus but her body felt like giving out soon if they didn’t get to the inn.

   Suddenly approaching the Inn, Natsu let out a huge sigh followed with a, "Finally..." as he thought about a nice cold shower and a soft mattress to rest upon. As dawn broke through the clouds above, the slayer caught himself yawning. "Let's hurry up and find our room before we both just pass out here on the streets..." He nudged Lucy as he put forth the effort to move ahead and threw those seemingly heavy doors.   

"I’m sorry, I was careless and underestimated the situation, I was over confident because I was with you. I promise I will not make you worry like that again" she did feel bad that she allowed herself to be put in that situation, she made a mental note to start training with Capricorn so she wouldn’t make Natsu worry about her as much.

"You’re right, It’s best to get back before sunrise," She did her best to support him as she started to walk faster, though she didnt want Natsu to push himself too much and make his injuries worse

   Now he felt horrible. Natsu should have kept his mouth shut, but at the same time, he felt a bit relieved to let out what he had felt. If he didn't, the slayer would have been consumed in his thoughts and--- well-- probably would have flipped out on poor Lucy for no reason. He looked to her with his emerald hues observing the damage that was done. Natsu felt shame, but happy.

   "I'm just glad you are safe from harms way." Just then, he glanced quickly down at his condition. "Unlike me, I could use some healing magic right about now," Natsu chuckled trying to lighten the mood. "but thats alright because I heal fairly well and I'm happy to not see you hospitalized. That would be heart breaking! Just means I did my job... no... how can I word that... I saved a nakama that means the world to me!" With that, a huge grin followed. 

"Yes, yes very funny… Now give my pants back…"

            "No way! Suffer the punishment you stripper!"

"I got you" She said helping him up letting him lean on her for support. "It sure was a tough one wasn’t it?" Lucy smiled at him as they walked towards the inn, a faint blush touching her cheeks as she heard his whisper but said nothing for the moment. 

   "It really was and that's kinda scary when you think about it... I almost lost you forever. Just thinking about losing you, Lucy, hurts me tremendously inside." Loose pink strains shade his eyes as the slayer tried so hard not to cry. Yes, he was going to cry. Even though he had just confessed his full heart to the celestial mage, it felt like he had been with her forever. Yet, they were, though only as Nakama. Would they ever get to the simple dating stage? Maybe, but only time could tell. 

   "Anyways, let's hurry before day breaks." Natsu persisted as he put more weight on his wounds just so they could pace a bit faster.

"how about you lean on me? I’ll walk slow for you." Lucy offered to him knowing that she could help keep him up as they walked to the inn, "OR I could call Virgo, she is the most physically strong of my spirits, and i dont think calling Loke would be the best Idea at the moment…" she started talking to herself think of a plan to help Natsu.

   "EIther or.. the way I see it.. the sooner we get there.. the sooner I'll be able to rest.." Natsu exclaimed as he tried to stand back up on his feet. "This was some mission, huh?" A soft smile now plained upon his lips in indication that he was completely alright. "And you made it ten times better.." The dragon whispered softly hoping that she wouldn't hear his awkward confession. 

Lucy knelt beside him, pulling him into a hug. “Lets go to the inn, so you can rest up okay? I’ll start a fire in the fire place too,” She said looking at him now, having a feeling that he was pretty hungry along with being so tired.

   Resting his head upon her shoulder, Natsu nodded at the plan. "Sounds good to me... now if only I could stand..." He chuckled a bit to himself as he thought about moving his beaten and worn body to another location other than where it lied. All he wanted to do was sleep. 

Lucy smiled at him softly. “I’ve been wanting to tell you this for a while, but I could never come up with the courage to say it, I love you too Natsu.” Her cheeks turned red as she confessed the feelings that she had kept in her heart for so long.

   His heart fluttered, but he didn't inch a smile. It was too much work after the beat down he recently received. "Good... this would have been awkward if you didn't..." Natsu sighed as he dropped to his knees once the heavy exhaustion had taken over.

the blue feline jumps a little bit from the sudden loud noise, but it was only revealed to be his partner. 

 “ eating fish! what else?”

   Natsu ginned widely at the response. He should have guessed and yet just hearing the small blue exceed perk up made the dragon slayer all the more happier. It was his best friend after all. 

   "Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go fishing today?"
