just a reminder to COMPLETELY boycott Eurovision this year; Azerbaijan and Israel, despite committing genocide, are STILL allowed to compete & have NOT been banned. by refusing to ban both countries, Eurovision is profiting off of the genocide of Palestinians and Armenians.

do not listen to the artists. do not pirate or stream the artists' music, and this applies to ALL the artists who are competing and performing this year. do not listen to the songs on ANY platform, do not give them ANY attention.

write to your broadcasters and tell them you REFUSE to watch the channels until they recognise the Armenian and Palestinian genocides & that you find it disgusting how they are allowing Eurovision despite Azerbaijan and Israel's entries.

do NOT give eurovision OR the competing artists ANYTHING but silence.

boycott ALL of eurovision.

some sketches I did trying to work out a Taako design! I think Iโ€™ve got him close to where I want him now. I love this terrible boy

Avatar
anistarrose

[Image description: digital art, mostly shaded in purple, of Taako from The Adventure Zone. Heโ€™s shown with slight variations of design, but heโ€™s a chubby elf with medium tone skin, long cornrows, and a mole next to his nose.

The first drawing shows him in a neat coat and skirt, labeled: โ€œnot sloppy enoughโ€. The next shows him from the shoulders up, smiling relaxedly. Next, he has shorter hair and wears a chefโ€™s hat and apron, smiling confidently. Heโ€™s labeled: โ€œSizzle it Up with Taakoโ€.

Next are Tres Horny Boys: Magnus is a bald man with sideburns and a muscular build, smiling and carrying Taako over one of his shoulders. Taako is hanging limply. Merle, a dwarf with a braided beard and glasses, watches from behind.

The second image shows another full-body Taako design: he wears a cape over a slightly rumpled tunic and skirt, and he has the brim of his hat slightly lowered as he smiles confidently. The last image has the same design, and heโ€™s pointing back over his shoulder, saying: โ€œTaakoโ€™s good out here.โ€

End ID.]

Here are some gay wedding additions:

India

India-Pakistan

South Africa

Thailand

Japan

Georgia

This last addition to this ^^^ is my genuinely my most favorite part!

I rbโ€™d a different version of this and added other cultures (including that Georgian one โ€“ which, ftr, notes that these guys are Georgians in America, because if theyโ€™d worn those clothes [chokha] in Georgia as openly gay men having a gay wedding, thereโ€™s a not-insignificant chance they wouldโ€™ve gotten killed, since gay men arenโ€™t consideredย โ€œreal menโ€ and onlyย โ€œreal menโ€ are deemed worthy of wearing chokha. Which I think is contextual information worth sharing here โ€“ that this isnโ€™t just beautiful cultural garb but also a very deliberate act of defiance and pride using that clothing in the face of the intensely hypermasculine, homophobic culture it comes from).

Rbโ€™ing this alternative version just because I love the inclusion of some of the other same-gender weddings.

Also, interestingly, American wedding culture diverged in a weird way from British formalwear culture. So thereโ€™s a weird thing where British formalwear is flashier than American!

In British formalwear, thereโ€™s a distinction between morning formal and evening formal. In America this still remains reflected in conventions like โ€œevening dress,โ€ which is a phrase and class of dress understood in America. The โ€œmasculineโ€ counterpart of the โ€œfeminineโ€ evening dress is the evening suit or tuxedo, which is further divided into black tie or white tie tuxedo, which are worn with a bow tie.

As a result, American weddings are usually a business suit (matching jacket and trousers) or a slightly nice everyday suit (blazer, trousers donโ€™t have to match, maybe a fun tie) or a tuxedo type event.

However, British formalwear still recognises the importance of the โ€œmorning suitโ€ as different from the evening suit, and it is fairly flashy. Itโ€™s an option for a fancy event or formal wedding in the daytime. You would not wear a tuxedo to a morning wedding if you were old money classy.

Morning wear usually incorporates multiple colors and canโ€™t be just black, has the distinction of a waistcoat, can have interesting patterns, usually has flowers and jewelry as accessories. Minimum handkerchief or boutonniรจre, cufflinks, snazzy buttons. People might feel self-conscious about the hat and cane, but theyโ€™re traditional options.

Of course you can wear whatever you want forever, but if youโ€™re interested in clothing rules or are saddened by the apparent paucity of masc options (especially if youโ€™re trying to stay in your cultural lane) you can still get character and excitement in masculine stuff too. And itโ€™s an open piece of culture that anyone can use because colonisation. So for example, if youโ€™re a trans guy of no particular white background reading the post, and feeling a bit sad about your options to get married in, I am psychically fixing your boutonniรจre, king. Everyone loves a guy in a morning suit.

Additional context because I know the radfems are going to get their hands on this and love it:

  • "Korea has the largest gender pay gap in the rich world, with women earning 31 percent less than men, and women still face widespread discrimination in the labor market, something the movement recognizes."
  • "In 2016, a young man murdered a young woman in a Seoul public bathroom, telling police after that he killed her because women had always ignored him. Despite the perpetratorโ€™s own statement, police refused to label the murder a hate crime. Furious, women flocked to online feminist message boards, communities, and chat forums. This wave of digital feminism attracted women from all backgrounds, including working-class women like Minji and Youngmi, making it different from traditional Korean feminism, which was largely confined to universities, NGOs that often received government support, and other elite spaces.
  • In December of that year, as Koreaโ€™s fertility rate hovered at 1.2 births per woman (it has since slid to 0.78, the lowest in the world), the Korean government launched an online โ€œNational Birth Mapโ€ that showed the number of women of reproductive age in each municipality, illustrating just what it expected of its female citizens. (South Korean president Yoon Suk-yeol won the election in March 2022 with a message that blamed feminism for Koreaโ€™s low birth rate, and a promise to abolish the countryโ€™s Ministry of Gender Equality and Family. ) Women were outraged by the map, observing that the government appeared to consider them โ€œlivestockโ€; one Twitter user reportedly created a mock map illustrating the concentration of Korean men with sexual dysfunction. Several of these digital feminists responded with a boycott to the reproductive labor expected by the state and decided that the surest way to avoid pregnancy was to avoid men altogether.
  • It was through these online communities that 4B emerged as a slogan, and ultimately a movement.

It's not just about hating men.

It's a political statement and protest for equality that specifically seeks to eliminate the way the way Korean women are used, abused, discarded within the patriarchy by their own refusal to participate in any of it or associate with anyone who benefits from it.

It's very specifically about Demanding equality from men in power by refusing to take part in the patriarchy and challenging the way it perceives women.

It's becoming a topic in the west now and so I wanted to add all this context with the addendum that this is NOT an inherently transphobic movement. It's also completely autonomous meaning there is no "leader" of it.

Each person will have their own reasons and method of participating in this movement. Anyone can join or be part of it. Yes this includes radfems and TERFs so when they eventually try to co-opt this movement as their own let's remember that they don't speak for all feminists and theyre definitely NOT the voice of oppressed Korean women who started this, and as such have No reason to put themselves in the spotlight of this movement. And we have no reason to let them.

hate how much im enjoying watching house. i didn't remember it being this unhinged. something is deeply wrong with every single person in this show and it's awesome

vogler trying to get rid of house as if people would not want a huge offputting bitch of a doctor who does absolute insane shit to fix you no matter what, over someone who says "have you tried losing weight" when you show up with chronic fatigue and then charges you $300 and makes you leave immediately

for once in my life i can accept house being a bitchy horrible man because it's funny but also i think he's make a really good bitchy horrible butch dyke

btw! I was made aware that many people don't know that we're boycotting Eurovision this year, so.

we are boycotting Eurovision, as per BDS guidelines.

don't watch the stream, don't engage with the videos, don't post it about it on social media using hashtags that are going to trend. whatever you're getting from the show isn't worth it

ive found that partially treated mental illness can sometimes look to uninvolved onlookers like faked mental illness.

"someone who really has pOCD would be disgusted and horrified at their intrusive thoughts" or maybe i'm in therapy & am going by the books, being radically ambivalent to my intrusive thoughts instead of wasting energy mentally washing my paws of sin. i'm not going to perform my rock bottom for you for the sake of being believed.

also like... something something, being afraid of healing because you're afraid of letting go of the stability of misery, letting go of the narrative you made up to feel worthy of attention, letting go of your "sympathy cred," this narrative has probably killed a few ppl.
