Celestion and Deradune are somewhat analogous, in that they’re far more polished and interesting than their faction’s other starting zone (being Algoroc and Ellevar). But of the two, Celestion is probably the prettier one. Though it has a similar biome to Wilderrun (though is more forest to Wilderrun’s jungle), it also presents a wide variety of areas to play in without feeling too cluttered or too similar.

The storylines here are among the more interesting ones as well, with a couple of Dominion forces infiltrating the area, such as Draken warriors and ICI agents, encounters with nexus natives like Moodies and Torine, as well as an area dedicated to a city district overrun with ravenous Mordesh. I say it a lot, but there’s tons to see in Celestion. Little details like the ones in Deradune help this zone stand out from the rest.

Some of these screenshots were a little tricky to get, thanks to the zPrix that runs though the middle of the river. Hard to take pretty screenshots with the giant holograph rings floating around.

The Vault of the Archon was the last piece of Wildstar story content that was added to the game. Despite what most expected, it was not released alongside, but instead was added sometime later. Once inside, you can see why it might have taken them some extra time: this place is gigantic. If you thought Omnicore-1 was big, The Vault makes it look like a spacehand Expedition.

The first part of the mission has you finding a path through the dangerous Varegor Pass, using the blood of local beasts to keep yourself from freezing to death. The pass is tall and foreboding, with multiple paths to take if you feel inclined. There are also several small cave systems that provide extra objectives if you want a better medal.

After braving the pass, you’ll find the mighty fortress of Kel Havik, where the Vault of the Archon and the frozen Hundred await. Although you can manage to break into the vault, breaking back out might be difficult…

It’s here that we discover that the primeval of logic, Omechron, was responsible for designing the protoplasmic resonator that created Drusera. The next leg of the hero’s journey would be to find out where Omechron is hiding, and if anything can be done to separate the Entity from Drusera. That’s assuming you survive the vault, of course.

Keen-eyed explorers might find several key fragments in Varegor Pass, which can be used to unlock a special door at the back of the Vault. There, you’ll find a Datacube from a previously unknown Eldan: Remiel, the Remanifestation Initiative chief. He speaks of bringing the dead back to life, and the override key can even be used to unlock a special door in Omnicore-1. Behind that door lies a Torine relic, which means… Well, we might never know.

The Vault of the Archon is suitably massive, so there’s plenty more screens below the cut.

Tumblr is dead, long live Twitter.

Hello my friends and followers. First of all: thank you for following me. You make me feel happy and I like you a lot. I’ve enjoyed sharing my artwork with you here. <3

But, basically, since I’m not pleased with the exhausting prospect of getting randomly flagged as “explicit”, I’m going to move my art posting over to twitter. Please follow me over there at Devilferndraws! Easy to remember, ain’t it?

I will be doing the same for my ACTUALLY explicit blog, @devilfernsmuts. Which will not link for some reason. I just haven’t set that one up yet.

I hope to see you there over on Twitter. Link again is https://twitter.com/DevilfernDraws

Kethri: 1 & 6 for Memories

A happy memory of a defining moment

Kethri draws in a shaky breath. “But humans live longer, right? And even then I knew if I died early, you’d…” Her face twists. “Making you sad is worse than anything else I could do.”Ceybal squeaks, burying her face in the crook of Kethri’s arm. “Fuck the world, baby. Let’s live forever.”Kethri nods slowly. ”…yeah. Yeah, you know what? Yeah. You and me. We’ll live forever. We’ll make it happen.“Fuck the world.”

Copying and pasting this from a previous post, but hey yo. Gary Astelford has offered to give approvals to lore suggestions if we give ‘em. And you guys have about an hour and a half (It’s 10:30 AM PST.) to propose alterations before I submit these ideas regarding Marauder race biology and life expectancies for approval/disapproval.

The end of the Wildstar game client isn’t the end of my characters, but I wanted to capture each of them in their ‘forever place’ as a memorial to the game. I may not be able to visit Nexus as a 3-D interactive world anymore, but I’ll never forget Breir leaping through the branches of Wilderrun, Fynn resting in an Auroria field, Bolivar patrolling dark and rusty places, Grexxa guarding the gates of Thayd, Corvic diligent in his never-ending work, or Serrin lost in thought on the bank of a Deredune river. Nexus was special to me, and one of a kind. I will miss it dearly, but I’m thankful for all the memories it gave me.

I will always be gay for Zero. May he rest in peace.

I’d like to address a concern that this note brings up. It’s obvious that you enjoy my character (Zero), and you’re assuming that because the game I created him in is gone, I won’t be drawing him anymore. Let me reassure you that this is not the case, as I am very attached to him and I enjoy drawing him. In fact the wonderful thing about being an artist is that I can continue keeping him alive through my art for years and years to come if I want to do so.However, it’s very concerning that you decided to send the person who created the character you enjoy so much such a negative note; implying that the character is now dead. It really makes me wonder what your intention was. I would think that if you enjoy a certain subject an artist creates, then you would send positive notes that help inspire and motivate that artist to keep creating the content you like so much.

I’m sad that Wildstar is no longer around too. But the fandom is, and probably will continue to be if you choose to help support it.

Thank you for your interest.

Just because the game has come to a close does not mean that your characters and their stories must also come to an end. That is up to their creators.

You are the creator, you have a say in what happens to your character, that is your power as a creator.

Many fandoms and OCs have continued to exist outside out the series/source material long after it has officially ended. This is nothing new.

Do not delete/uninstall Wildstar if you want to play on a private server. If you’ve already deleted, just run the launcher. The patch servers are allegedly running as of right now still so you can download the game. Do this immediately, as nobody knows when they will go down .

In case you already have deleted it but want to download it again this address works (at the moment):

wildstar.patcher.ncsoft.com/WildStar.exe

Copy/paste and boom.

today’s mood

@antimagenta That is a pathetic tombstone for Wildstar.

This is more appropriate.

As long as Nexus and Wildstar are in my heart, it will never truly die.

Do not mourn the past, rejoice that it happened and made you who you are.

We may mourn the lost of the Wildstar client, but we needn’t mourn the loss of Wildstar’s world setting and the wonderful characters who we’ve devoted so much time to. Those can live on forever in our stories.

So perk up, cupcakes! We’ve got so many adventures ahead of us, and nobody can take that away from us.
