ROSE’S SWORD TUTORIAL (?)
First of all I’m 99.9% new to prop making, this being my first bigger project made for cosplay. Some week(s) ago I recieved asks on how I made the sword for my Connie cosplay, so here goes! I hope this powerpoint will be useful! I’m also happy to answer to any questions - in case something is unclear of if you’re just curious.

Edit: I accidentally wrote fiyrofoam (slide 3) or frigolit (slide 4)! On both of those I meant to refer to Styrofoam, sorry for the trouble! (Frigolit is the Swedish word for styrofoam)

As a former master of Sword Dancing in the capital, duelling a student seriously would be illegal. One of her overly proud students managed to force her into a position where she had to battle him. Upon losing, the student broke his part of the deal and had her arrested for duelling a minor. She was marked as a dangerous woman- equivalent to an outlaw.
They were right about one thing, though; with a sharp blade at hand Bolorma’s dancing is as deadly as it is beautiful.
Currently she’s joined with a pack of Robin Hood like bandits, getting on the same level as those who played her by playing them

|| The Lamina Family || Luminita Tian Lamina - the youngest daughter of the Lamina family (4 daughters and 2 sons) In tradition, her family line had always ended up working for the family business, which means a shop in a basement area from which nobody can leave without buying something (If they didn't bring money, they'd be sure to return). Inspired from a Chinese shop close to my school where they really have EVERYTHING. //might add that the shop is pretty much the only place they can turn unless a miracle occurs Luminita's dream is to follow in the footsteps of her eldest sibling, Min, the only one who had successfully "broken free" from the family-business-curse and made herself a big career. Though her hard work, Luminita lost her one chance to escape when she was accused for cheating on the entrance exam to the prestigious Pimpin University of Magic Studies - and the board couldn't bother to look into her case before accusing Luminita and stealing her future away. Instead she has to spend her days helping out in the shop and saving money to explore the world. Luminita dreams of the day Min will finally respond to her letters and take Luminita away with her. But Min, a leading engineer in the development of travelling by flight, is very busy and is practically married to her work. But what if- just if- the family's shop really has everything? Even something which could fulfil Luminita's dreams? Even if it wasn't FULLY legal?? (I might make this object in the same of a plush, relic or something but we'll see) Doing the illegal magic- Luminita's ("sister" at the time) brother first came out as transexual after the magic-thing accidentally fulfilled his wish of being born with a male body (kind of hard to keep it in the closet when your body suddenly change) The wish-thing can only grant one wish to each of the members of the Lamina blood line (though they need to be present at a full moon to get the magic to work) In Luminita's case, she wished for the board to realise their mistake and accept her at the Pimpin University of Magic Studies Of course all of this will lead to more dramatic things in relation to the magic, but thus this is the development of the Laminas
|| Poppy the Werewolf & Jezebel the ex-Cultist || New lesbians! or lesbian-romantic? I'm not sure about the actual term, but Poppy don't do the do (Jezebel do the do) Anyhow, meet Poppy and Jezebel! They met at the cinema; Poppy was crying her eyes out for an animal they killed in the movie and the girl next to her, Jezebel, couldn't stand how nasty she was looking with buggers and tears. She tried to get Poppy to stop crying, and while doing so the security came to take Poppy out for disturbing the movie. The security member ended up believing that Jezebel was there with Poppy, and had her leave as well. Good going with first impressions there Poppy has problems with sleeping, and is often seen with bags under her eyes. Poppy dropped out of school due to issues between her family and another clan within the werewolf community. Jezebel's family was part of a weird cult, in which she was raised. She was eventually able to escape, and is now adjusting to society. Poppy and Jezebel's first encounter may have been at the cinema, but they would soon after meet again at the education centre for adults.
(One traditionally coloured in charcoal and markers, the other two are digital alternatives) || Pandora Oebney || This fancy lady comes from a planet in an alternative universe, where kewl fins, scales and fish-like traits are the norm. Though it was only their ancestors who could actually live under water. Many millenniums ago the people were forced to leave the water and live on land, hence the ability to breathe under water was lost. Though compared to humans, they can stay under water for much longer. Point being, the more scales and fish-like features- the more attractive do they consider you. The character herself is a wanted ex-spy who deserted the government. The bounty on her head is equivalent to a year's worth salary of the working class- times five. Though she's worth even more if brought back alive. She hides in a smaller city far far away from the capital, where people don't really care about who you are as long as you take care of your own business. She works at a small billiards club to make a living. And for the free booze after working hours. The club is open from 02:00pm to 02:00am, which gives her free time during the morning. Her neighbours kid got himself expelled from school, so she earns some extra cash by giving him private tutoring. With a lot of homework to keep him busy in the afternoon when she leaves for work.
|| Noah || In search for his drama-lama-runaway of a brother The twins were separated when the older brother left home, in order to steal people's power and gain power for some unknown cause. His younger twin brother has never been without the older twin before, and relies completely on people around him. So the younger one is basically a big mama/papa's boy. They sent the younger twin to find his thieving brother and stop him, as they don't think anyone else will be able to. (The twins abilities are to steal powers after all, and they want the younger to steal his brothers powers and return it to the people it was stolen from. But as mentioned before this younger twin needs to rely on others, there's no way their anxious and independent kid can travel on his own. And this is the point where he'll probably start this cliché journey of searching for his brother, meeting friends on the way and forming a crew // in order be able to handle it since going solo is a no no// what is wrong with his parents //maybe they'll send a baby sitter to go with him // but then again they'd have to pay the babysitter a lot in order to have him follow him on that long dangerous journey // what about travelling expenses and food // let's go with the help people on the way and receive a price (food, housing) - cliché // wow what if the baby sitter is really good at arguing or manipulating people - I mean it's useful // and that's an issue because the younger twin will probably not stand up for what he thinks is right or wrong in the baby-sitters doing, as he's afraid of being left alone // a lonely kid is dangerous too // but them again he should burst and tell the baby sitter off for reals at some point (( whoa somehow it reminds me of how Zuko from Avatar was rude and stole stuff and Iroh had to go along with it since he knew that it was necessary for their "survival" or something (or was it because of his love for Zuko??))
|| Pussy Willow - Videung || (I'll be referring to him as "Vide" ) Vide was raised in the safe community of the Willows, where he at an early age learnt to help out, and was given a fair amount of responsibilities. However, he realised that many of the beautiful flowers outside of the community were fragile, and soon died - in comparison to his family of plants who had very long lives. He got obsessed with the thought if that if he was strong, he could protect the other flowers, keep them alive for longer than they naturally would. He was, and is too stubborn to accept that some flowers has a shorter life span, and freaks out at the smallest skratch on others. In that way, he has the issue of forgetting about his own safety at times. Though he's young now, He has many many "plant years???" ahead of him. While he yet wants to, he fears getting too close to short-lived flowers, in fear of out-living his bestest friends.
