Okay so I'm a senior in high school and have been playing clarinet since 5th grade. Up until this Christmas I've used the same clarinet. It's a plastic Omega brand. It started having a lot of problems, so my mom surprised me this christmas and gave me a brand new wooden Selmer USA 103. I love it but I just feel like there is a resistance when I play. Is this just because it's brand new or am I doing something wrong?
If you’re switching from a plastic clarinet to a wooden clarinet, it’s going to feel like there’s a lot more resistance (because there is a lot more resistance). Use more air and the new clarinet will start feeling better soon.
I'm a senior in high school and I'm scared to go for music performance :/ I don't wanna be poor and playing clarinet on the street after college :(
Don’t be silly. You can’t play clarinet on the street. The weather will make your instrument crack.
Even if you are a clarinetist, I like your blog ! And we'll never steal Brahms :P
Saxophonists playing the Brahms clarinet sonatas is totally a thing. Thank you for not personally doing it.
This stuff is really hilarious, and it's pretty chill that you post original stuff instead of just reblogging kudos to you
Okay I know I sent you a message before but after scrolling through your blog I noticed some similarities. My name is also Leah, I used to be a music ed major (now general), and my main is also clarinet (and voice)..... ARE YOU MY LONG LOST TWIN???!!!
If we're long lost twins, our parents have a lot of explaining to do.
Hi! It's so refreshing to not only find another fellow clarinetist but also someone who finds music theory tedious. Especially when it's dealing with jazz chords and everything you thought you knew has now been thrown out the window -_-
As an avid music player for a few years, starting on handbells is fairly easy right? But also fairly fucking annoying when the whole class needs to restart to play 2 fucking quarter notes and a half note please help me pleASE HELP ME
I'm sorry, but I've never played handbells before outside of Wii Music. But people are stupid.
