Thank you for this wonderful, wonderful time. I love Jake with all my heart and he is one of my favorite characters. May I ask if you are you going to keep the blog up, or do you plan to delete it?

Thank you. I’m keeping the blog up for now. I don’t despise the blog or anything; I just can’t continue writing this character at this time, nor do I see myself being able or willing to write him in the future. He’s fun to write and extremely fun to draw but I am making a concerned effort to cut out unnecessary stress in my life. I spend more time worrying about doing something with Jake or waiting on this and that than I do actually enjoying him.

So here he’ll stay. Archived for sentimental reasons and with the chance that things might change one day. Things will always be changing, but maybe they will change in a way that gives this place life. Maybe they will change in a way that has me forgetting this blog entirely. Either way, maybe change will happen in a way that will have me thankful this place is still here. In the meantime, I want to thank you for enjoying him. And probably for writing with me!

Thank you.

This blog was really fun to write but

I’m fairly certain at this point that everything I ever wanted to accomplish on this blog isn’t going to happen. Which is fine. Times change. Maybe they will change again someday.

But. It’s been a good run. Thank you all for your support and for writing with me. It was really a lot of fun...

Assume Jake lived a long, happy life.

The End.

dare you to kiss christopherrose-pa

Jake choked back a laugh when he saw Christopher’s wings. They were so… small. And of course, it made sense, considering they were doubles. Jake’s wings were huge and cumbersome so Chris’ were small and light.

But Jake choked back his laughter because he recognized he had no room to laugh. Chris could just as easy find humor in the way Jake’s wings knocked things over or refused to stay hidden.

Something about that realization softened the PA just enough for him to consider talking to Chris without biting sarcasm or dry wit. Maybe he would just… say hello. For once.

Although, Chris might think he was being sarcastic anyway. So he made his intentions very clear when he approached Chris, giving him a chaste kiss. His wings fluttered, as if to say, look at us now.

And Jake said, “Hey.”

A small laugh did bubble past Christopher’s lips at that, as well as a slight flutter of undersized wings. “It’s at times like this I feel the need to remind you that bigger is not always better, double dear.”

Despite his words a curious hand reached out to run fingers over the silky looking feathers - so different than his own downy ones. They hesitated politely, hovering just above the wings.

Jake smiled, stretching them out a little wider. “I wasn’t going to say anything,” he chuckled. He took a step closer so that Chris’ hand met with his wing, encouraging him to pet the smooth, white feathers.
