In early drafts of “The Secret Circle,” one of the main characters — Melissa, played by Jessica Parker Kennedy — was gay. The show was based on a series of books first published a decade ago, and because Melissa was one character who didn’t exist in the source material, there was a license to update the story. Initially, Melissa had a crush on her best friend Faye and was struggling to come to terms with her sexuality. THE SECRET CIRCLE - “Slither”

People who think Coriolanus didn’t love Lucy Gray need to realise that love doesn’t have to be *pure* to be true. Love can be toxic and complicated and messy. Using his own words, love can destroy you. His love for her wasn’t pure and perfect but it was true. In the end he just loved himself and power more. You don’t spend 60+ years being haunted by someone you didn’t genuinely love. You also don’t marry someone you hate so that love can never make you feel weakness again….

So, so true, and people barely acknowledge this.

I don't understand how anyone can argue that Snow didn't love her.

SPOILERS

When he threw in the handkerchief, he wasn't thinking of money or winning, he was thinking of Lucy Gray. When he asked to be sent to D12, he wasn't thinking of power or the Capitol, he was thinking of Lucy Gray.

I'm not saying he's a good person. He could've picked Lucy Gray so many times over himself and it could've worked that way.

But I'm saying that he was actively thinking of threats to Lucy bc he cared about her. He had the chance to keep her alive, and he didn't to make sure she was safe.

I'm saying that he could've argued to go to D1 OR D2, hoping to do a captain thing that he was later offered, and try to worm back to the Capitol. But he chose Lucy Gray.

He loved her, in his own twisted way. Those last two sentences of the linked post are so on point and accurate.

The point was that he loved himself and power more.
