I must say, I am very disappointed in Scott Moir’s spatial awareness. His aim is clearly terrible. So many times during these Olympics he had clear and easy access to the target and yet not once did he manage to get his lips to touch her mouth. Always so close but no gold medal. He needs to really think long and hard about this, get some training, maybe a good team around him, and get this difficulty sorted out.
I offer this for his attention: http://occupationaltherapyforchildren.over-blog.com/article-spatial-awareness-108726104.html
This is everything.
So. Freaking. Happy!

Three of your favourite qualities about their partnership
Trust
There is so much trust in this partnership. It’s such an important part of any partnership, but even more so in one that involves spinning blades, the pressure of public scrutiny, and elite sportsmanship. It is easy to see why some might prefer to go it alone and compete in singles - apart from the obvious higher prize money - to not have to rely on anyone else would be a big draw, what if they let you down? But in the case of Tessa and Scott the opposite is proven. What if they hold you up?
Respect
Their respect for each other is huge. How many times in interviews have they applauded one another, praised one another, handed each other all of the glory, despite the fact that they are equals. They aren’t selfish with their respect, neither one tries to take it for themselves. They believe in each other’s abilities. On and off the ice. Consider Tessa’s jewelry line, Scott had only great things to say about her just as she has great things to say about him.
Love
Whether you think their love for each other is romantic or not, it would be difficult to deny they love each other at all. This is an integral part of their partnership and builds out of - and enhances - the first two. They know they will always be there for each other and that they see each other as the best, that sort of support is hard to find, it has to be created. That sort of love that only comes after many years of living closely with someone and seeing them as their best selves and their worst. It’s a love that can’t be hidden and won’t disappear.
Three of your favourite qualities of them on ice
Connection
This is really something they have that I feel is unique to them. Yeah, other teams have connection for sure, but somehow with Tessa and Scott I always feel drawn in to what they’re doing in a much deeper, spellbound sort of way.
Lines
The match so perfectly. The ‘find Tessa’ game is real. I don’t know how they do it - possibly it has to do with their connection. In fact I think that’s highly likely. A sort of deep awareness of where the other is at all times and what they’re doing.
Costuming
Potentially this is more Tessa than Scott, but I’m certain he helps out and his opinion counts for something. I love their costumes. They’re always so accurate for the program and feeling they’re trying to convey. Seeing what they’re wearing is a close second to seeing them as they start new competitions.
A Post About The Program That Made You Fall In Love With Them
The first program I ever saw them do was Stay, so that would be the answer to this question. Even though there is that one lift in it that I still get a bit cringey over - you know the one where she’s upside down? yeah - but I love the rest of the program. Everything about it, the song, costumes - particularly Sochi gala - and how they move around each other. I’d never before seen people actually look like they were dancing on ice. I’d seen ice dance before, I’d seen figure skating before, but until that moment I hadn’t seen anyone actually dance on ice.
Things Scott said to Tessa that are more likely than “Take in the moment.”
- “I love you.”
- “Marry me.”
- “Let’s have babies.”
- “Want pizza?”
- ... literally anything else.

(they sat in different places but were told each other’s answers)
-When is your birthdays?
Tessa/Scott (at the same time): May 17th 1989
Scott: god if I didn’t get that one right uffff
-Interviewer to Scott: And when is your birthday?
Scott: Ooo that’s a good one
Tessa: Scott’s birthday is September 2nd 1987
Scott: September 2nd 87′?
-Interviewer to Scott: You got it! What is Tessa’s favorite music?
Scott: Tessa’s favorite music?
Tessa: I’m into oldies so, Hall & Oates, Marvin Gaye, Spinners…
Scott: Her playlist is like similar to an 80 year old’s
-Interviewer to Tessa: And what is Scott’s favorite music?
Tessa: Country music for sure
Scott: She just said country? Well I do love country music
-What is your least favorite trick?
Tessa: Ooo my least favorite trick
Scott: probably spinning?
Tessa: I gotta say I’m not a big fan of spins
Scott: For me probably would be preeetty similar
-Interviewer to Tessa: That seems like a large part of…
Tessa: We only do one spin in our free dance so I can deal with it
-What was your first skate routine?
Tessa: Oh my gosh his most memorable solo was Austin Powers. I should find that footage.
Scott: I don’t remember. Her actual first solo? My aunt could tell me because she was her first coach.
Tessa: My first skating solo was to The Little Mermaid
-Interviewer to Scott: and your first was?
Scott: uhhh
Tessa: Oh what was that song? some like horse thing
(now he came back into the room)
Scott: Yeah that wasn’t the one though, it was Sesame Street Rock, and that was even before you were around to tell you though.
-What advice do you have for couples?
Tessa: Oh I’m not sure we’re in a position to give any advice
Scott: Yeah for true
Tessa: But really understanding the root of the other person’s insecurities and defense mechanisms, it just helps the communication because you know I appreciate where you’re coming from in a different way.
Scott: Yeah, I love that
Tessa: Maybe that was too deep
Scott: No that wasn’t, that’s so great
