CHARACTER INSPIRATION SERIES: psychic vampires.

Have you ever gone outside, passed a person, then felt absolutely drained afterwards, be it emotionally or physically? Then you are one of many to run into a psychic vampire. These vampires, unlike their sanguine brethren, are living people or beings that survive on life-force (chi, prana, life energy, etc.) as opposed to blood.
Many of these types of vampires may not even realize what they are doing or what is going on with their interactions toward other people. However, some have investigated the oddities of their bodies and the way they draw on the energies of people near them to discover the truth of their vampiric qualities. Those that are able to learn and control their powers can often learn to find transfer points, and willingly drain the energy of others.

General Myths - Persephone/Love

A collection of CANON things that I’ll later figure out which I’ll strictly adhere to when it comes to silly, flowery Seph and her weird ass love life.

I’m gonna post more myths relating to Psyche and Hercules and Orpheus next~

Adonis:

  • Persephone was charged by Aphrodite for taking care of Adonis. However, when the time came for her to give him up, Persephone, who’d become fond of him, refused. She was part of a deal where Adonis would spend 1/3 of his life with her.

Apollo:

  • Before Hades’s abduction of her, Apollo sought to marry Persephone and offered the gift of his favorite, golden harp.

Ares:

  • Ares was also a suitor to Persephone that she and Demeter both denied, and he offered the gift of his spear, cuirass and a shield.

Pirithous:

  • King Peirithoos of Lapithai attempted to kidnap Persephone form the underworld to make her his bride. He was, however, captured by the infernal gods and subjected to eternal torment.

Hermes:

  • More a rival with Apollo to marry her than the other suitors; he offered his caduceus (that fancy rod with serpents that’s used as a symbol for medicine, now).

Hephaestus:

  • (While angry at Aphrodite for having affairs with Ares) was also a suitor and offered a necklace of “many colors” and still newly made that it was still warm from the furnace.

Zeus:

  • Citing Orphic myths, Persephone was seduced by her father, Zeus  in the disguise of a serpent and the union bore a son, Zagreus (who was attacked/killed by Titans and his heart was reborn in Semele and, thus, Dionysus. The union also bore Melinoe (likely Hektate).

and, duuuuuh, HADES.

I think the only one I haven’t heard of here is Peirithoos. Dude, you crazy.
