McBusted: Year One
It's crazy how it's already been a year since McFly and two members of Busted came together for real, three months after the four nights of McFly's 10 year anniversary shows. I never noticed how long they've been together, but that's probably because the majority of that year, I was against the idea of McBusted. McFly had a highly anticipated sixth album in the process that fans have been waiting for since Above The Noise in 2010. I was upset that they pushed back their album for a supergroup. I held that grudge for so long, I never bothered or thought to give them a chance. Looking back at that now, I realized how selfish I was being because McBusted as a whole is actually pretty awesome.
What changed my mind about McBusted was the documentary they filmed with Fearne Cotton (I wrote a review for it in my blog here). You can see clearly how the six of them get along so well, and how genuine and special their friendship is. You see how much fun they're having on stage. From then on that opened my eyes and ears for McBusted and their upcoming music.
So far they have done a tour, singing mostly their respective greatest hits together, headlined Hyde Park for a summer show, released a concert movie that was only in theaters for two nights, and released a music video for the first single off their upcoming debut album. Those were the high points of McBusted for one year, and it was a really good one! Coming now into the second year, with the album out in December and another tour happening, it looks like McBusted is going to have another great year.
And I am excited!!! I'm so excited to hear their album. True, it may not be just a McFLY album, but at least it's an album that McFLY is a part of! I can't wait to hear what they sound like with Busted. :)
So, happy anniversary, McBusted!! Cheers for another awesome year. <3
