When Megan the Stallion said "he shot me and I still tried to be protect him" it broke my heart. And it's proof a conversation needs to be had regarding situations like this. It has been so ingraved in black women's minds to be "ride or die" for a man no matter how bad he treats her. The whole "struggle love" story needs to be deaded. And as we've heard before from Megan, this is not the first time she's protected an ain't shit nigga from the cops.

Y'all remember a few months back when Megan's old mugshot resurfaced? The story is once again she protected a nigga after he did her wrong. She finds out he had a baby on her, they of course argue, she tries to leave and he won't let her and puts his hands on her. She fights back, they're in public, and the police get called. She lies to the police and say he didn't hit her, but he immediately tells on her and she's arrested.

The amount of times I have heard a black man flat out tell black women that even if her man is beating her, she still shouldn't call the cops on him. I've heard that black women need to "be patient and understand that as black men they are at war every time they leave the door" and while SOME black women are being killed by the police "all she needs to do is go home with her protector and she will be safe." Fuck all that noise. A lot black men need to get it out of their heads that the fear of police brutality is not a shield you can use to continue to hurt others, especially women.

When Megan got shot, a lot of y'all men and women showed your asses. From downplaying her injuries to outright saying she did something to Tory Lanez to making jokes. People were using her height and her music as definitive proof she was the aggressor. Y'all just didn't want to believe her, you refused to.

In my 23 years of life I cannot count the amount of times I have seen actual video of an innocent woman being assaulted and people laughing and trying to put blame on her when the video is clear proof she did nothing wrong. A video of a man hitting a woman with a skateboard. A woman being surrounded by 10+ men catcalling her and trying to smack her ass, as she's trying to get in her car. A group of trans women being hit and having their purses stolen in the middle of the street by men. These are recent but the pattern is clear, men feel so comfortable and bold about abusing women that they film it and put it on the internet for laughs.

As a community, we black people need to have a serious conversation on why it is seen as acceptable to abuse black women. Why there is such a lack of respect for women's mere existence. As a man you cannot claim to be pro black but sit there at laugh about a black woman (and yes this very much includes trans women) being assaulted. Pro black means VERY everybody black, not just the people you hand pick based on your own fucked up reasoning.

Children don’t get more disrespectful as they age, they just slowly feel that they are mature enough to express their own feelings and concerns.

i took a deeper dive into the racism in the film industry, the hair and makeup aspects of it.

Can’t believe I have to say this, but normalize having empathy for Black women when they go through traumatic experiences.

Everytime a BW is in the media for something traumatic, jokes are made. EVERY TIME!

The lack of empathy for Megan is very unsettling.

I don't know who needs to hear this but you CAN and SHOULD terminate a doctor patient relationship at any time if you are dissatisfied with their service or uncomfortable in anyway.

I stopped seeing an allergist who said "Get rid of the cats and put that dog outside" as response to a description of my allergies, without ever giving me an allergy test.

(My next allergist actually did his due diligence and discovered that half the reason I couldn't breathe was because I had allergic scar tissue in my sinuses).

I stopped seeing a gastroenterologist when he didn't make an effort to learn my name, familiarize himself with the treatments I had tried that did not work, or read the list of known medicine allergies attached to my chart.

(He asked me when my last colonoscopy was LESS THAN 48HRS AFTER HE PERFORMED IT and re-prescribed me a medication that had hospitalized me)

I stopped seeing a certain psychologist because, despite my complaints about the damage that it was doing to my stomach lining, he wasn't willing to switch my meds in favor of something less destructive.

(My next psychiatrist agreed to see me WEEKLY while she weaned me off the meds he had put me on, and spent months checking in with me and tweaking my medications until we found a medication that helped my depression sufficiently without killing my stomach.)

Don't pay to see doctors who refuse to run tests!

Don't pay to see doctors whose bedside manner makes you uncomfortable.

Don't pay to see doctors who ignore your complaints about medications.

Don't pay to see bad doctors!

Wish I had known all my 20’s that I was in charge, not the doctor.

Two men are walking their dogs (a doberman and a chihuahua) when they see a restaurant.

They’re pretty hungry, do they decide to head in for a bite to eat. Unfortunately, they see a sign out front that says “NO DOGS ALLOWED”.

The man with the doberman says “I know what to do, just follow my lead.” He throws on a pair of sunglasses and walks in.

The waiter tells him “I’m sorry sir, we don’t allow dogs here.” The man says “Oh, you don’t understand. I’m blind and this is my guide dog.”

“A doberman for a guide dog?” The waiter asks, skeptical.

“Yes.” The man replies. “Dobermans are very loyal. They’re easy to train and protective too. They’re born for the job.”

The waiter sighs and leads the man to a table.

The second man, excited by this idea, throws on his sunglasses and walks in.

The waiter tells him “I’m sorry sir, we don’t allow dogs here.” The man says “Oh, you don’t understand. I’m blind and this is my guide dog.”

“A chihuahua for a guide dog?” The waiter asks.

“A chihuahua?” The man asks. “They gave me a chihuahua?!”

A guy calls a company and orders their 5-day, 5lbs weight loss program.

The next day, there’s a knock on the door and there stands before him a voluptuous, athletic, 19 year old babe dressed in nothing but a pair of Nike running shoes and a sign around her neck..

She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company. The sign reads, “If you can catch me, you can have me.”

Without a second thought, he takes off after her. A few miles later puffing and puffing, he finally gives up. The same girl shows up for the next four days and the same thing happens. On the fifth day, he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost 5lbs as promised.

He calls the company and orders their 5-day/10lbs program. The next day there’s a knock at the door and there stands the most stunning, beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life. She is wearing nothing but Reebok running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, “If you catch me you can have me”.

Well, he’s out the door after her like a shot. This girl is in excellent shape and he does his best, but no such luck. So for the next four days, the same routine happens with him gradually getting in better and better shape.

Much to his delight on the fifth day when he weighs himself, he discovers that he has lost another 10lbs as promised. He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7-day/25 lbs program.

“Are you sure?” asks the representative on the phone. “This is our most rigorous program.” “Absolutely,” he replies, “I haven’t felt this good in years.”

The next day there’s a knock at the door; and when he opens it he finds a huge muscular guy standing there wearing nothing but pink running shoes and a sign around his neck that reads, “If I catch you, you are mine.”

it's literally so draining to work so closely with the public right now. legit had a panic attack at work today and can't find anybody to cover my shift tomorrow. 🙃
