insane how many people just have these incredible artists in their families who get no recognition outside of crocheting circles because this art form is devalued for its association with women
in my country, the word for crocheting, is used metaphorically, to compliment a surgeon’s work.
every AFAB person my mother’s age and older, had practiced this craft at one point on another.
My mom has made literal paintings, that decorate our house for years (I’ll come back with pictures when I visit next) you can only see that they are crocheting when you go very close.

Hey guys,
It’s been three years since I updated MM. In those three years, I’ve never fallen out of love with this little world (this blog is still active for a reason), but I do think I needed time to branch out and explore other AUs and ideas before coming back to MM. And for the last three years, I’ve been doing that. But now it feels like it’s time to come home. So it’s time for an MMCU Renaissance!
What does this mean? What does it entail?
It means two things.
One: I’ve polished up the chapters/installments I’ve already posted. On AO3, I’ll be replacing the old chapters with the new ones. Major scenes that have changed will be moved to a separate entry called the Grimoire. (This will also contain excerpts I’ve posted and will post in the future.) On FFnet, the current Mirror, Mirror fic will stay the same, but I’ll be uploading the new versions as separate entries, and going forward, all future fics will be their own entries. The old version won’t be updated. The fics will also be posted on tumblr itself.
I haven’t changed much; you could read the old versions and understand the story just fine going forward. The main changes are that I seeded in some foreshadowing for future events now that I have a better idea of where I’m going with Leila’s story; the tests on Leila’s powers take place before her tenure at SHIELD’s Academy of Operations, not after; chapter 3 of Battle Royale is now told from Leila’s POV; and Leila’s last interview before joining SHIELD is with Coulson instead of Hill.
Two: I start updating the fic regularly again. Once I have the fics I’ve already posted updated to the newer versions, I’ll start publishing the next installment, called “Falling Down,” which I already have written. That will be posted a chapter a week, during which I’ll work on the installment after that, Royal Flush, and it just goes on like that (this was my process before I took the extended break that I did.)
