genuinely, I'm curious where these people are getting the idea that Biden is less committed to the slaughter of Palestinians than Trump would be. certainly it's not from anything Biden has said or done!

Last US election cycle I made posts about how while, as a multiply disabled and mixed communist lesbian from the global south, I'm not a fan of Trump in the least, I was way more terrified of a Biden administration because part of his campaigning was centered on him basically being better at violent US imperialism than incompetent Trump had managed to be, and since my country already has a history of the US meddling concretely and very bloodily with our democratic processes and we at the time were going through a massive one, in addition to the 2019 coup in one of my immediate neighboring countries, that was genuinely bone-chilling to me.

I also commented that Biden was most likely bluffing about his promises on minimum wage, protections for oppressed minorities, and so on.

And all I got were responses like the one in the screenshot as well as some very violent ones, a lot of talk about how American liberals would "push Biden left", and each time I said HOW? How are you going to push him left? And never got an answer.

Luckily for me, and very unluckily for thousands upon thousands of others, it wasn't my country this time around that was the target of increased tangible US imperialism.

I know you (op) and most everyone reading my words know this, but they won't push him left lol. In what way could simple citizens who don't even have enough of a spine to boycott fucking Starbucks "push" the most powerful man in the world "left", aka, towards minimally decreasing his dedication to his own thirst for absolute power? Especially when all you all (US liberals) keep doing is rewarding him and his ilk with more access to power?

Biden knows you all don't give enough of a shit to do anything even remotely pressing to force him to even pretend he's sorry about genociding tens of thousands of already disenfranchised civilians, let alone actual radical action that could be any sort of threat.

Biden knows all you all want is the comfort of the appearance of Normal Serious Politics. He not only didn't fulfill any of his promises around Kids In Cages, minimum wage, the pandemic or anything of the sort, he actually went out of his way to actively fuck you all up. He hasn't done shit to protect transgender people in the US during this intense of a tide of incredibly violent backlash, he wiped his ass with disabled Americans during his turn handling the pandemic, he made no effort to protect the federal right to abortions, he's done nothing about antisemitic hate crimes and instead is using the very legitimate fear of those hate crimes to feed into manufactured consent for a genocide elsewhere, and so, so much more.

I'm not even touching on the things he's failed to do for Black Americans and other Americans of color because those communities already know and even if they do vote for him they're mostly not out there campaigning for him and proudly chanting that they don't give a shit about Palestinian lives. They're, for the most part, going to vote for Biden through gritted teeth and in silence, as they've mostly voted for any other democrat. And the rest of you all? You don't care what happens to these communities either anyway, so why bother bringing the details up?

None of you care. You don't even care about yourself as you happily beg Biden to stick his geriatric dick into your eyesockets and after all you say is "Thank you, sir! Some more please?"

He knows you don't care. He knows you'll reward him with another term for it all, and he'll keep happily fucking over the literal entire world. Hope you're happy and can sleep soundly at night. The rest of us, in and outside your country, very much do not thanks to you people's sheep-like behavior. Not only walking joyfully to the slaughter house but screaming in the faces of anyone else who'd rather not at least go there without a fight, because, hey! This time the butcher is wearing a rainbow pin I guess.

Not that mainstream media would make a note of this, but Iran has said multiple times that it’s wishing de-escalate. Israel launched a drone attack against Iran a few days ago, but Iran shot it down without retaliation. It even actively played it down so that it didn’t have to retaliate, so that the confrontation could end where it did. It’s Israel that’s continuously attacking Iran and its allies. It’s Israel that’s trying to escalate this. It’s literally them.

If Iran does decide to retaliate on a bigger scale, you best believe every western media will be painting it as the aggressor. Meanwhile, Israel is launching air strikes on every possible Arab country you could think of, as well as Iran. So many people are dying every second. Still no word of aid or medical supplies being permitted. Settler violence AND IOF violence has been getting so much worse in the West Bank. None of that resolution talk amounted to anything

(talia was the first reporter to break aaron bushnell’s self immolation in february; she was one of the reporters he contacted personally prior to the protest.)

Btw Israel let Palestinians celebrate not one (1) holiday in peace. They didn’t grant Christian Palestinians access to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday, they actively attacked families who were already starving at Iftar during Ramadan, and now there are several reports of families being killed on Eid al-Fitr—a sacred multi-day holiday practiced by lots of Arabs. It breaks my heart imagining the Palestinian families in Gaza right now, most of whom are spending Eid mourning loved ones who were taken by Israeli strikes. Most of us will never understand the sheer magnitude of that pain.

I’m being completely serious when I say I can’t think of anything more dehumanizing than deliberately terrorizing Palestinians on their sacred holidays. It’s saying their culture is not worthy of being practiced with safety and security, it’s saying that they as human beings are not deserving of the luxury of culture and safety, it’s saying that they can do this over and over and get away with it because Arabs are invalids to the average person not directly affected by this. It should make you incredibly angry that every holiday so far has been grounds for a heightened volume of war crimes from Israel. It’s making me incredibly angry just typing this. Palestinians deserve better.
