"Oh no! No need to thank me, it is only polite. What kind of man would I be if I didn’t allow a lady to see the tradition happen simply because I am selfish?" He smiled then looked back to the tree. They were placing the last few ornaments on the tree then they would light it up. Though the person he just spoke to seemed familiar. A little too familiar. 

Sycamore frowned staring at the tree then down to the girl. A face of shock came onto his face as he recognized her. “My dear! Valerie is that you? You look pretty as ever but today I couldn’t even recognize you. Is it too cold for your normal outfit?” He laughed sheepishly as he looked down towards the girl. “My apologies for not noticing you earlier.” 

Polite as ever, Sycamore seemed to fail to recognize her right away, something that Valerie was not offended by. It was rare for the gym leader to venture out of the gym, let alone dress in something less than spectacular. If the weather had allowed for it, she would have been draped in yards of silk, tufted to look like some type of Pokemon's torso. Today, she'd have to settle for less.

"It is. I arrived in my usual, but found it difficult to remain extravagant and comfortable." Gray eyes peered up toward the top of the tower, narrowing slightly, helping her vision focus on it's peak. "This is my first time in Limose during the holiday season. Laverre isn't as festive as the larger cities." The sound of her voice carried, although Valerie rarely ever spoke up. "Do you enjoy the holidays, Professor?"

"O-Oh….They do?" he asked curiously. "I just wanted to really see the world and catch some pokemon and make tons of friends….Though I suppose if I am supposed to and it will help the Professor I guess I can battle and get badges."

"They usually do. It doesn't mean that you have to. A journey is something personal and everyone takes a different path. Only you can really decide what you're going to do, and what you get out of it varies from person to person." She leans her elbows against the edge of the table, bringing the cup up to her lips and taking a long sip. "You should get going. It's getting late and the Professor's lab doesn't stay open all night, you know."

Jason made his way over to her and gently took her hand in his before his eyes went wide. “W-Wow you’re a gym leader? You must be really strong then.” He said in amazement before he began to blush again.

She shook his hand, smiling wide at the compliment. "You'll find out, one day. You're going to challenge the gyms, aren't you? That's usually what young trainers do after the Professor gives them their first Pokemon." She assumed he was heading to the lab for that reason, but she may have been wrong.

"Well here is hoping that this warm chocolate keeps me warm while I make my way down there." He said as he was handed the very drink he was talking about. "Anyway thank you for the information." he said with a gentle smile. "Are you a pokemon trainer?"

Valerie nods her head, lifting one hand and offering it to Jason, who was still some ways away. It'd encourage him to come over, though, wouldn't it? "I am Valerie, Laverre City's gym leader."
