The Abandonment of Reason is a Survival Mechanism

Art for the lovely @touchofstrange (who bid on a commissioned piece to help fundraise for @coinelot years ago...) I really enjoyed illustrating this touching scene from their story: “All Things Bright and Beautiful” (on AO3). I won't spoil anything beyond what my drawing suggests, but do certainly recommend reading the fic for context! ;)

For those unable to get to the story, I still hope you enjoy seeing these angsty, magic boys - and the cat! ❤

(Festival season coming up, so expect me to be a touch more active! Doing @aftercamlann ... and probably @kinkalot ... I've repressed myself from Merlin smut for too long, haha...)

Whimsy! OMG This is amazing!! I absolutely love what you’ve done!! It’s so beautiful and I adore the direction you went!! Such a phenomenal idea and executed so brilliantly in your gorgeous style! I love it so, so much!!!🥰😍❤️🧡💛💚💙💜💖

I'm a graphic designer for a college these days, and just had the opportunity to meet one of the directors of our design program. She lit up when I mentioned the value of handmade things in graphic design, and said "will you please say that out loud? So many of my students think a graphic design career is only about digital work."

So let me underline this, design students: your traditional work has value. Your handmade things have value. Learning software is important, but your ability to make handmade things is valuable to your graphic design work too. In a field where automation and pre-built templates already streamlines so much of the grunt work of design, your understanding of the mechanics of traditional printmaking, drawing, painting, sculpture, and photography will make your work stand out. There will always, always be a need for designers with paint and ink and graphite on their hands. If you love those things, you don't have to give up on them to pursue graphic design. They'll make your projects better and inherently yours just by doing them, whether an art piece figures into your projects or not.

And let me be the voice in your head whispering do iiiiiit... put your art in your design work...

What's more, it'll be the works incorporating art and design that shape future design trends. If you love art, it can be a part of your design work. They aren't mutually exclusive.

They have called this day the eleventh of March! And whomsoever of you gets through this day, unless you are shot in the head or somehow slain, you will stand at tiptoe when e'er you hear the name again! And you will get excited at the name March the eleventh! We happy few, we few, we band of brothers. Our names will be as like household names!  And those who are not here, be they sleeping or doing something else, they will feel themselves sort of crappy!  Because they are not here to join the fight on this day the eleventh of March!

Due South fam, its hereeeee

“Scared? Why should you be scared? You’re the one with the gun… And you like guns, don’t you?” // “He’ll kill you.” // “Of course he will. That’s what guns are for. Pull a trigger. End a life. Simple, isn’t it? Makes sense, doesn’t it? A life, killing life. Why don’t you do it then? Look me in the eye. Pull the trigger. End my life.”

Ohh, I love this gifset!!
