DUDES! We have an absolutely huge release announcement for you!  VINCE MOLE AND HIS CALCIUM ORCHESTRA FRIENDS, PSYCHICS, VISIONARIES...LEND ME YOUR HAIR! Recorded in 1993 and originally released as a limited cassette in the Elephant 6 catalog, this collection of songs from Vince Mole and His Calcium Orchestra (also known as Chris Parfitt, who was also an original member of The Apples In Stereo) is a gem that has been lost for too long. We're happy to help bring it back to life in its original format! We've got a limited run of 100 hand-numbered cassettes, and as usual the first 22 will come with a painted/screenprinted slipcover. Fans of the elephant 6 collective, or fans of lo-fi psych pop in general will want to get this one in their earholes as quickly as possible. These should be shipping out by mid-August. Dudes! More cool news today! On June 24th, we’ll be releasing a very limited run of demo tapes by The Concerns (new project from Daniel Cundiff of Eternal Summers, The Sad Cobras, etc) at their show in Roanoke, VA. 

These will be ultra-limited (run will be between 20-30 tapes), and 100% DIY.  

If we have any extra copies left after the show we’ll get ‘em up on the website for you guys to order, and we’ll have some songs streaming soon!

Greetings, Dudes! Bust out yer wallets - we've got 2 more new tapes lined up for June/July!

We're welcoming back Brooklyn native Ben Seretan back to the HFTTD family. Well, he never actually left but you know what we're sayin'. His latest, Bowl of Plums, picks up right where the self-titled debut left off with healthy amounts of expressive guitar, grand choruses and Ben's unmistakable croon. We can't recommend this one enough. Fans should also note that the album will be self-released on vinyl through Ben's Bandcamp. Don't fret, we won't be butt hurt if you grab the wax - we're buying personal copies as well! Sweden-via-USofA's Mike Downey has been smashing out tune after tune under his Shy Mirrors moniker since releasing the super-limited lathe cut 12" on Thinking About the Needle 'way back' in 2010. We've also had the pleasure of being associated with the project via our sister label, Big School Records. We begged Mike to participate in HFTTD and he responded with 14 tape-ready nuggets overflowing with all the right sounds - Guided By Voices meets Superchunk filtered through every great melodic pop-punk record of the past 30 years. Missionaries are set to release their first full-length album since 2007! Half A Creature is a collection of ten songs tied together by a singular theme: relationships. Whether they were romantic, familial, positive, scarring, brief or long-lasting the album attempts to retrace those experiences and bring them to light again. This record was recorded in mid-2014 over the period of a year and finally finished in late 2015. Missionaries for this record were Seanmichael Poff, Marshall Hicks, Megan Glassman, Adam Painter and Jonathan Woods.

The second solo album by Circulatory System, The New Sound of Numbers, Lavender Holyfield, Dream Boat, Old Smokey, Jacob Morris, and The Olivia Tremor Control member John Kiran Fernandes. Featuring appearances by cellist Alec Livaditis, percussionist Courtney Parker, John's two sons Ravi and Kiran on organ, and multi-instrumentalist Charlie Key. Ethnic music and free jazz influenced mostly instrumental music. Deep moods, absorbing textures, and shimmering melodies featuring John on bass clarinet, clarinet, violin, kalimba, and little instruments. You don’t want to miss this one!! Fall ‘15 Batch

Friends of HFTTD, we’ve returned after a brief hiatus to announce 3 more tapes for the fall docket. Don’t forget, we’re still rockin’ the 4 for $20 deal so don’t be shy and stock up on all the sounds you’ve come to know and love!

After a bit of a delay we’re finally prepped to announce our involvement with the latest Blessed Feathers album. There Will Be No Sad Tomorrow will see a limited cassette release (100 copies) with the first 22 orders receiving a unique hand-painted slipcover by Rob Wilson. Fans of the band likely already know that the vinyl release of the album was Vinyl Me, Please’s featured LP for the month of October. We’ve been fans since 2011’s From the Mouths of the Middle Class, which saw a very limited tape release on the wonderful Cakes & Tapes label so we were pretty pumped to see the band get a healthy amount of recognition for their efforts. Read the NPR feature piece on the band, stream the album (arguably their finest work) and pick up the tape. Now shipping!

HFFTD has finally tapped the ever and always fertile Dayton, OH scene for a split release with longtime label friends Smug Brothers and Brat Curse. The Smugs occupy side A with the perfect blend of quick hitting GBV-esque hooks and Replacement jangle-pop. Brat Curse pumps out one infectious garage anthem after another on the B side, invoking two of our favorite masters of the trade, Ty Segall and Jay Reatard. Members of the Smug Brothers are also involved with their own tape label, Gas Daddy Go!, so we’re forever in debt to the band for sharing some of the riches with us! 100 baby blue tapes with the usual first 22 copies arriving with the screened/painted slipcover. French Exit is an enigmatic musical project from Athens, Georgia, led by AJ Griffin (of Laminated Cat, The Olivia Tremor Control, and Circulatory System) and featuring Derek Almstead (of Faster Circuits, The Glands, OTC, etc).
