When I was a kid in Hebrew school years ago, I remember one of the times we had the chance to listen to a Holocaust survivor tell us his story. I don’t remember many of the details of what he told us, but I do remember that at the end, we had a chance to ask him questions. One of my classmates asked if he had any advice for us. His answer was “Always be ready to run.” Being ready to flee at any moment had saved his life, and he advised us to always be prepared to do the same.

With the election results yesterday and the anniversary of Kristallnacht today, I’ve been thinking about those words a lot.

if you’re ever feeling overdramatic just remember that zelda fitzgerald once threw herself down a flight of marble stairs at a party because her husband was talking to someone else

I think dark premise-happy show is my fav genre. like

  • two kids stay in a weird town with a relative they barely know for an entire summer. A summer which they spend constantly fighting for their lives against all sorts of evil things.
  • A child wakes up after being frozen for 100 years to find the world has gone to hell since he’s been gone, and it’s up to him to fix it.
  • A boy literally dies in an accident and then has to protect his town from all sorts of otherworldly threats.
  • two kids are lost in the woods, plagued by a shadowy beast which wants their souls.
  • the half human child of an ancient alien leader now has to deal with monsters and world ending catastrophes on a daily basis, all while keeping together a team of aliens who still mourn his mother’s passing.

see? dark premise- happy show is the best genre. feel free to add on if you like.
