Seriously after today’s RWBY episode, I’ve never felt fire light up inside my heart to work harder than ever to get my webcomic moving forward... I want a legitimate lgbt couple... and I’m making it now.

Fuck this...

"I wanted a legit LGBT couple"

DID YOU FORGET ABOUT JAUNES SISTER WHO IS A FUCKING LESBIAN?

also I'm sorry two men cant just be friends to y'all Jesus fucking Christ I hate this FNDM

@psykoknight65 Ah! Nah, I still remember them! Didn’t forget these static characters. I can’t even recall what the wife’s name was. (These 2 aren’t even mentioned anymore in season 7)

I want a foreground lgbt character, a main cast character—not some background character that was put out there on a whim cuz of a trend that many studios like Marvel AND Star Wars have done because to them that’s “diversity” and “representation” and that’s it, jobs done, move on. I want a character that remains on screen, that follows an interesting well thought out story structure that fits perfectly into the story that reflects and anctual relationship.

Frankly, Jaune’s sister looked so generic and out of place compared these other thoughtfully designed main cast.

And I do agree, the FNDM sucks (I’ve looked into this community after so many years) but there are still people who care about the story and development of the characters—which for RWBY, there really hasn’t been any.

Nice of you to move the goal posts ok, then how about Coco who is more or less a main character and is a lesbian? Or Illya or is also a lesbian and is confirm to have feelings for Blake or May marigold who is a trans woman or Scarlet or is a gay man?

These characters are in the front for fucks sake Illya was in a majority of volume 5, there are plenty of LGBT positive characters in the show but it doesn't matter, this famdom wants more and more and more to the point where people send death threats to this company just because the character they wanted to be gay wasn't gay and I'm tired of it.

These characters are waaaaaaaaay in the background with the exception of Illia. Scarlet makes one mention of his sexual interest and that’s that, and again, it’s in one teeny tiny panel.

Coco, you have to read a short story.

If any new viewer wasn’t aware of the tweet from CRWBY confirming May as trans, then they would have been completely unaware. Also this character hardly ever speaks or gets any major scenes unless it has to do with Robyn Hill.

Illyia is another background character, but shes definitely more interesting and holds more backing compared to Jaunes generic sister.

And let’s be honest, the majority of the audience is less interested in underage relationships. There’s a creepy obsession between Yang and Blake that has always left me uncomfortable, that CRWBY has no problem blatantly shipping but again, have these two even outwardly spoken about their relationship being legit. Eh...

My issue isn’t the lgbt, it’s—as you’ve said—the constant pandering and focus on shipping itself rather creating a legitimate character and/or plot structure that fits into the story. And it felt like Clover was a part of it where his story would align with Qrow just as Illia’s aligned with Blake’s past. At least with Illia, Blake learned some level of self growth. Qrow could have learned self love and acceptance in what he is but no—Shock Value!

RWBY and Fair Game (Spoilers)

Bit of a rant right now and then it’s back to business with the comics (I know huh, I’m back!)

For those who don’t know this about me, I draw a lot of inspiration from RWBY—well, more specifically, the works of Monty Oum.

When I heard Monty was working on a new show, I was already hooked. I’ve been watching Rooster Teeth since middle school when YouTube was just a website where people put up random videos and not streams. RT back then was just a YouTube channel, and I was beyond proud to follow the company to its rise to legitimacy. Monty’s name was known throughout the animation studios during my college years and his level of world building was often referenced and explored. His death was to me, and to many others, was a tragedy itself as often times many were left wondering in the animation world what could have been had this man been able continue to work. From what I would see in passing, the characters looks less interesting, more generic, and the fights were practically nonexistent. I left the show immediately after volume 4.

Years later, and I spared some time over the holidays to watch volume 7. I was highly encouraged from a lot of my former classmates, friends, and family to skip over season 5 and move on to season 6. I did not do that, and watched the whole series from start to present. Sad to say, the story isn’t great. I don’t want to get too into it, but from I remember watching this show when I was a kid to how I watch it now–theres a lot bad plot points that can’t be ignored.

Looking back at it, you know what really got me into the show back then-the bond between Ruby and Yang. As an older sibling, and whether my brother and sister like it or not, I’m always going to keep watching over their shoulder and keeping tabs on them no matter how far away they were. It was awesome to see a sisterly relationship in similar fashion on RWBY.

Needless to say, I related to Yang a lot–until volume 6. (Don’t wan’t to get into cuz then this isn’t going to end)

Now here’s the part that got me back into the show and from here on I’m gonna start elaborating why this story plot really hits me hard in all the wrong places both as a fan of Monty, an aspiring writer, and an LGBT.

I don’t think I’ve ever been more fond of a character like Clover Ebi since Negan from the Walking Dead (still love that ASS)

Now at first I was curious because I heard there was a character that had the lucky charm semblance. That already in itself would have been such a tricky plot point because to have anything like that would make this character too powerful to keep around the main cast. It would have made things too easy for the crew, and the plot would go by too smoothly to be interesting.

What really changed my opinion of Clover was his relationship to Qrow Branwen, my favorite character in the show.

From the very beginning, we’ve followed Qrow’s character start off on a rocky road with visible scars that were presently obvious, especially when it came to his drinking. From his dialogue, to his self destructive behavior, there was an underlying tragedy this man was carrying over his shoulders that was likely set up to be shared in later volumes had Monty lived. With the past volume revealing that everything this guy sacrificed for, and after being told by many of his own peers of not being a good person to have around, a lot of the original audience knew that this guy was going to lead a very interesting and tragic ending.

To having one niece losing an arm and the other traumatized at witnessing the death of a classmate–to his own family betraying him and siding with the main villain of the entire story, being poisoned and putting his family in jeopardy, pushed around at every corner, and at last being told that everything he did as a spy was literally for nothing–its no surprise to anyone that this character would most certainly and literally drink himself to death.

What I noticed in volume 6 was there wasn’t a soft moment for Ruby to come up to her uncle and say it to his face, “you are the reason why I still fight, despite the world trying to stop me” or “you are my inspiration, my role model.” While I was happy she told her uncle he could always talk to his nieces, I was saddened that nothing more came of that and we were left to assume that it was conversation that occurred off screen.

(I was half expecting for Qrow to just not care anymore and be careless in his fighting from then on to the point he kept getting injured but still doesn’t care. Like when Ruby finally used her silver eyes, it would be to save her uncle from a horde instead of a cliche standoff scene where the only good point from that cringe moment was a visual of her beautiful mother, Summer Rose.)

When Qrow quit drinking in season 6, it was fair to say that from here on, healing and a critical rising point for an essential character was going to happen without saying.

And sure enough, we meet Clover Ebi.

While at first I thought it awesome to finally see a character having an overpowered Luck semblance and witnessing what it was like, what got me hooked was how he lifted up Qrow. And that’s when I knew this character would be Qrow’s rising point.

I started shipping these two after that moment in the back of the shipment truck, and from then on I kept a look out for their moments. I also realized how more interesting these two compared to the main cast. Sorry, but there was something about the way Clover kept trying to cheer and support Qrow that was really refreshing and surprising coming from the RWBY writing.

I’ve also been told that there are other characters who are LGBT, but you have to read the side stories and there’s tiny mention in the manga series… okay. great?

I think it’s blatantly clear that Clover Ebi is gay, and could have been the first successfully open at that. And to say that the relationship Clover and Qrow had with each other was just as friends doesn’t hold because we’ve seen bros like Tai and his former classmates, and Neptune and Sun (the ultimate detective best friends). Watching volume 7, it was fairly obvious these were flirting, more so on Clover’s part. Even the moments, especially the tiny ones, gave the impression that Clover was interested in more than being comrades with Qrow. Even past that, but the way these two were starting to joke with each was like an actual coup that was both realistic and naturally brought up. It reminded me of how my parents would joke/tease with each other.

So after watching the latest episode today, all I can say is what a waste of writing.

Why fight in the middle of an aircraft? Why focus your attention on a former teammate than a  neutralize a known mass murderer hell bent on chaos and despair. Really? You gonna have Qrow side with a known pyscopathic serial killer who made it perfectly clear he wanted to kill his favorite nieces and the rest of the kids, over a man you’ve spent time to work out a teamwork routine.

The only think that was good about this is how actions have consequences, and now I’m just waiting for Qrow to fall back into drinking, because how can you trust yourself and anyone around you after that. To be honest, if I were in Qrow’s shoes I would have buried myself somewhere in the snow waited for the snowstorm to sweep me away.

Why make a character and have him talk in such a way, only to kill him off for the sake of shock fact (Shock Factor, as we all very well know, is the laziest form of writing).

Regardless, I still ship it. Maybe the staff of creation can play a part in this, although the limitations of its power has never been explored.

Wishful thinking, but if they really want to make Salem actually dangerous (I think she’s a joke of a villain) have her bring people back from the dead as her underlings. I feel like there was a reason why Summer was never found, and I kept thinking that Salem has her somehow in some fashion, so it would be pretty scary for her to be have such an ability. Who knows?…

… anyways sorry for the rant. But I’m back in business now that the hectic hours at work have finally calmed down.

I’m thinking about drawing Fair Game, too. Maybe give them the happy ending they obviously deserve.

john boyega, oscar isaac, and kelly marie tran endured years of racist abuse and harassment (mostly) from r*ylos. they were sidelined from a film series in which they were originally promised much larger roles. finn was advertised as part of the new generation of jedi in the marketing for tfa, a film with also set up finn, rey, and poe as the new trio. kelly marie tran had to delete all of her social media, and oscar has repeatedly stated that, knowing what he knows now, he would have asked for poe to be killed off rather than have himself and the character treated the way he was. so if john wants to “lash out~” or whatever, he has every right. disney doesn’t own him, oscar, or kelly, and if any or all of them want to say “fuck disney and fuck the people who harassed us”, more power to them.

grow up and realize that not everything revolves around your fictional ship and your white faves.

FINALLY! I'm back and here is some art inspired by the amazing @013vargasart and their clown losers! I really love their stuff and recalled wanted to make my own loser circus. Mine is a bit different however as instead of killing kids they instead kill abusive parents and bullies, either adding to their circus or making the kids forget they even had parents that hurt them.

So we have our ringmaster and leader Bill and his clown-in-training brother, Georgie. The mime Stan and our magician and acrobatic duo of Richie and Eddie. Our juggler Ben and the aerial acrobatics of Bev. And finally but never least our best tamer Mike!
