Astro’s debut is rapidly approaching and I just wanted to say a few things as some reminders :
- Smut. This has been said dozens of times, but I just feel the need for it to surface again. Most of them are either still minors are only a few years into their adulthood. Please consider their age before writing smut about the boys. Just think about being in their position, and coming across a smut. I’m positive that any of them would be uncomfortable, much less violated. Because the maknae is only 15 and the oldest 21, a lot of us are older than them. It’s even more disturbing when an older woman/man sexualizes them. It’s still as disturbing for their youngers to portray them in such a manner. Please consider their age before you write smut.
- Fanwars. This one is pretty much self-explanatory, but it is needed as well. Seeing as we are now, Astro’s fandom is pretty calm and chill. But as they progress further and gain more fans, fanwars become inevitable. If someone does mention something about the boys that isn’t appealing to our ears, instead of arguing with them and making the situation worse, how about we just calmly remind them that we are not interested in fighting? Our boys would sure disapprove of their fans reacting harshly to other fans from other fandoms.
- Love for the members. This frequently occurs with other groups as well, (EXO, BTS, etc.) That said, even if you don’t stan one of the members of Astro that much, please still give them love and support them, because as they adjust to the idol life support is probably going to be the one thing they need. (Mentally, of course) Make sure to never leave an Astro member out, and please treat each and every one of them fairly. If a member or two ever post a photo of them or upload a video on Youtube, please do not comment such things like, “Where is ___?” “Tell ___ I miss him!” It is extremely rude and inappropriate. Instead, we should write encouraging, supportive, and loving comments to them, letting him/them know that they are loved and well supported.
- So basically, please, before you do anything too bold or something you’re not sure will be welcomed or approved by the rest of the fandom, either don’t do it or think about what Astro themselves would think if they came across it.
Wow, okay, sorry for the long rant. I just thought that before ASTRO’s debut, these couple of reminders should be addressed and well considered to the old and new fans of our beloved boys :)
