WARD YOU PIECE OF SHIT
Oh my god. He saw how on edge Fitz was, he knew he was the cause of Fitz’s uneasiness AND HE CHOOSES TO TALK TO HIM. TO ACTUALLY ASK HOW HES BEEN AFTER HE NEARLY KILLED HIM AND GAVE HIM PERMANENT BRAIN DAMAGE
That was the best XD
Hey to my peeps who have a hard times with reality, remember that:
Mirrors dont work while youre dreaming
Phones/TV/computer screens dont work while youre dreaming
books dont work while youre dreaming (the letters will keep moving)
If you ever feel like youre dreaming remember this
If you are dreaming you lose your ability to read because your language centers responsible for reading written letters are dormant.
Any time you are reading something, no matter what it says, it means you are awake and that whatever you are going through right now is real.
Thank you
Why I Stand with Ward
I don’t get why people dislike Ward so vehemently. Why they think he deserves to die. I don’t see it.
This is a man who was raised by abusive parents, and was mentally tortured by his older brother who used fear, lies, and intimidation as weapons. His home life was so terrible, he tried to burn his own house down. He was witness, and an unwilling accomplice, in the death of his younger brother. An experience like that isn’t something you walk away from, as is made obvious in “The Well”. Those memories were so terrible to Ward that he buried them so deep that only the effects of the Berserker staff could bring them to light.
His entire life, up until he was sent to juvenile detention, was hell. At this point, Grant is a teenager with no future, and no positive role models. Then along comes Garrett, a man who promises Grant freedom, strength, and independence. If I were Grant, I’d take the offer.
We all know the story. Garrett takes Grant out to the middle of the woods and abandons him there with only a dog for company, for 6 months. Why didn’t Grant leave the woods? He could’ve. But I honestly think he was mentally imprisoned there. Similar to what Grant said to Christian in “The Things We Bury”, he allowed both his brother and Garrett to put thoughts in his head and convince him they were his own. Garrett tried his best to convince Ward that anything resembling affection was weakness, but at the same time demanding Ward’s loyalty. Garrett shaped Ward with just the right mix of paternal care and manipulation into a warrior dedicated only to Garrett.
John Garrett was Ward’s savior, who rescued him from a dead-end life in prison. Because Ward had no one better to admire, he practically worshipped Garrett, and viewed him as a father figure. Add into the mix the fact that Garrett was dying and searching for a cure, and you have a loyal son who would do anything to save his “father”.
To that end, I completely understand Ward’s motivations when he betrayed the Team. He had a prior loyalty to his “father”, that was a stronger bond (at least on his end) than he had to any of his teammates. But just watching his and Garrett’s interactions, it was painfully clear that the affection was strictly coming from Ward. Every word that came from John Garrett’s mouth was manipulative, and Grant just couldn’t see it.
Cut to season 2: Garrett is dead, and Ward is tucked away in a high-security, underground prison cell. He’s back where he started 10-13 years before, only this time there’s no one coming to offer a way out, and he knows that. He tries to suicide on multiple occasions because he has no hope. But somewhere amidst his despair, he realizes the truth: Garrett never cared about him. And he begins to ask the question, who am I, really? And in addition, Ward faced up to his own actions, and took responsibility. He didn’t try to excuse his crimes, and he didn’t try to make others forgive him. He doesn’t believe that what he did is forgivable (though I believe in forgiveness and hope he gets it).
When Ward told Skye that he was never brainwashed, he is incorrect. What Garrett did to him was not the same kind that happened to Agent 33, but it was still brainwashing. One definition of the word brainwashing is “any method of controlled systematic indoctrination, especially one based on repetition or confusion”. If that’s not what both Christian and Garrett did to Ward, then obviously I don’t know what brainwashing is.
The one thing Grant Ward never lied about (aside from his love for Skye) was his inept people skills. Obviously, there were better ways for him to deal with his family issues, though Grant Ward shouldn’t be held to the same standards as everyone else. He was beaten by his parents and mentally abused by his older brother for half his life, then isolated and trained to be a killer by a psycho for the other half. Add those two together, and it’s not surprising that his “path to healing” involved the deaths of the three people who had caused him the most suffering.
There were also better ways to reunite Skye with her father, though Grant’s options were obviously severely limited. It’s not like he could’ve waltzed up to Skye alone and said “hey let’s go meet your dad”. And he also knew her father was in cahoots with Hydra, so what else could he do?
Grant is honestly trying to change himself. He can’t be the Grant Ward he pretended to be on the Bus, and he is no longer the Grant Ward who was loyal to Garrett. He is discovering who he is without deception or manipulation. And I think it was pretty awesome of him to do the same thing for Kara, in his own messed up way.
Lastly, he wants to mend fences with the team, and I hope he gets the chance to do so. Even if they don’t forgive him readily, I hope that they realize he genuinely is sorry for what he did.
So all you Ward haters out there, before you judge this man, please take into consideration that you probably would do no better in the same situation. In fact, most people wouldn’t be strong enough to pick themselves up out of the dust and rebuild their lives with their own hands. Ward is amazing, and no one can convince me otherwise.
Why are we having Tough Enough. Why are we having a Divas Search?
