It's a new month, which means it's time for me to post some pages from my sketchbook and promote my patreon on tumblr. But given the recent tumblr-midjourney news, I truly do not feel like it.
This blog is going to be very light until I get off the waitlist for Glaze. I already checked my "opt-out" option for getting my posts scraped, but I don't think that's going to count for much.
I'm very disappointed. I really don't want to abandon this blog or delete it. As another poster pointed out, anything you've ever put online anywhere in your life have likely already been scraped, so it's not like this is a sudden breach, just a newly obvious one.
Tumblr was the only social media where I felt like people were actually interested in making and discussing visual art (as opposed to cultivating personal brands as artists and performing "being an artist" but that's a whole other conversation) so I'm really reluctant to abandon it.

2023 Wrap Up
A strange year that was both long and short. The main lesson to learn from 2023 is the same lesson I have been learning every year since I was 6 years old: Things happen if you try!
