Its armor and weapons or massive bling - there's no in between with this kid. She finally approves of the dress.
Tunic is linen from armstreet. Dress is made from bargain bin knit fabic with a fulled appearance to conceal the weave. Panel is cotton with brocaded trim, and beads are plastic so I won't regret if they break. Is it a bit overboard? Yeah, but if it gets her to play then cool beans. Now I need to make something for the wife to complete a full family outfit in norse theme. I look forward to being finished so we can maybe pay a visit to to the land of liripipes next

i would rather someone live out the rest of their life dependent on or addicted to a pain medication that helps with their pain, than suffer in pain that could be helped for the rest of their life just so self-righteous dicks can say "thank god they're not an addict"
This attitude of doctors gatekeeping pain medication ends up effecting black people at much higher rates than the rest of the population
Also this plays a huge role especially in Sickle cell patients, who deal with unimaginable pain daily and opiods are one of the best pain management options we have for them, but many Sickle cell patients have a really hard time finding doctors that will adequately treat them, even though Sickle cell patients are exempt from the opiod guidelines.
Bottom line, everyone deserves access to make informed decisions regarding their own body. Even if you disagree with that decision or think you know better than them.

Also this is, like, very clearly buying into the ableism presented in the screenshots by taking it as read that the ADHD partners in these scenarios are being "shitty" or "toxic" or "bored" or "unfaithful."
ADHD causes some very clear, very well known interpersonal issues in people of all genders and it is possible to recognize that
- "People with ADHD experience relationship difficulties as a result of executive dysfunction" and
- "People with ADHD are often infantalized, demonized, ridiculed, and dismissed by neurotypical partners"
Can both be true statements.
And that's *aside* from the fact that neurodivergent people generally, and neurodivergent women especially, are more likely to be victims of IPV than neurotypicals are, and that many neurodivergent people who are abused or treated poorly by their partners are DARVO'd specifically on the basis of their neurodivergence.
Just. Like. Way to miss the point in every direction.

It kinda makes me want to write one of these stories just so I can try to write a backstory that explains WHY IN THE FUCK their world is like this and no one seems to complain.
It's basically the same trope as "medieval village sacrifices a maiden every year to The Dragon" but modernized. Now there's a Government Agency in charge of Feeding Virgins To Winged Reptiles, and everyone is just fine with that. Scientists at UC Riverside have demonstrated a new, RNA-based vaccine strategy that is effective against any strain of a virus and can be used safely even by babies or the immunocompromised. Every year, researchers try to predict the four influenza strains that are most likely to be prevalent during the upcoming flu season. And every year, people line up to get their updated vaccine, hoping the researchers formulated the shot correctly. The same is true of COVID vaccines, which have been reformulated to target sub-variants of the most prevalent strains circulating in the U.S. This new strategy would eliminate the need to create all these different shots, because it targets a part of the viral genome that is common to all strains of a virus. The vaccine, how it works, and a demonstration of its efficacy in mice is described in a paper published today in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences. “What I want to emphasize about this vaccine strategy is that it is broad,” said UCR virologist and paper author Rong Hai. “It is broadly applicable to any number of viruses, broadly effective against any variant of a virus, and safe for a broad spectrum of people. This could be the universal vaccine that we have been looking for.”
