this ramadan we pray for peace and aid for the people of palestine. this ramadan we remember the previous ramadans, where thousands of palestinians were massacred. this ramadan we honour palestine, and may we see a free palestine next ramadan

There's not a single pair of elvish or half elven twins before Elladan and Elrohir who get a happy ending. (See Amrod and Amras (dead), Elured and Elurin (probably dead, definitely separated forever from parents), and Elros and Elrond (separated from one another).) This leads me to two thoughts:

  1. What a weird liminal space for the twins to live in. And Elrond with all his trauma is probably prone to paranoia sometimes, so it's hard for him to raise them without imagining it all falling apart. (The year when they were 6-7 was most difficult for him bc that's how old he and Elros were at the kinslaying.)

2. On a more cracky note:

Elladan and Elrohir: dad are we cursed

Elrond: I wish I could reassure you but it kinda looks that way

I like to think that the real reason Elrond left to Valinor was because Aragorn and Arwen’s daughters were actually twins and he wasn’t ready to face the chaos the first girl twins of the House of Finwë would unleash upon Midde Earth

The day Sauron dragged himself back into corporeality and discovered Elrond and Celebrian had kids while he was MIA was one of the worst days of his life.

He’s not scared of Galadriel is a mantra he mutters to himself sometimes when things feel tough. She’s just… a lot. And Elrond has been a thorn in his side for ages, with his stupid Numenor connections and tendency to show up with an army at exactly the wrong time. Sure, he doesn’t seem to take after Luthien much, but Luthien didn’t seem to take after Luthien much until one day she showed up out of nowhere and just started destroying evil fortresses and ripping people’s throats out.

Now these losers are just throwing their genetic information together and seeing what pops out? Incredibly rude. The chances of a Luthien 2.0 (With Even More Menacing Prophesy) is not 0.

Fortunately news trickles out of Rivendell that the twins are just very intense jocks, but the best intelligence he can find on Arwen is “grandma’s favorite” and “kind of quiet” and that concerns him

Miss Fisher series 4 should open in Phryne's bedroom in the dark, all of the focus on her sleeping contentedly, then a knock at the door and Mr Butler calls out, "Sorry to wake you, but that was Constable Collins on the telephone. There's been a murder."

And then Jack's voice very quietly mutters "Damn" and he sits up, kisses Phryne's cheek and tells her to give him a head start, and she says "Always, darling" and he tells her that's a lie and he'll see her at the scene and to bring a Thermos.

One of the reasons for my absolute devotion to Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries is that the long suffering (and mostly celibate) love interest is a man, and the sexually adventurous, devil may care, rich love interest is a woman.

the thing about Hozier is that he's gonna use mythology, literature and folklore to be horny and to make his songs political every time and i'm gonna eat it up every time

@ hozier, try singing in irish on the opening track of your new album and take me by such surprise that it makes me tear up at work thinking about the fact that our language was so close to being stamped and shamed out of us only for me now to be halfway across the globe listening to someone using it so beautifully and giving it the space to reach past the limits of its survival and to know beauty once more. try that shit one more time man see what happens.

ok edit: just listened to uiscefhuaraithe and butchered tongue.................
