Alright! Since it is very relevant around this time because of the things I see on my dash & from past experiences, here is some very friendly reminders & protips!
1) Read people’s rules! They put effort and time into drawing the lines within which they feel comfortable about their hobby. It is beyond unlikely that you will be an exception to anything on their list, so asking them anyways even after reading is terribly uncomfortable! Writing is and should stay a fun activity and shouldn’t become a stress factor.
2) Do not get close to people just for the sake of having them make you things! Be it icons, themes, any kind of graphics, roleplay advice, or ‘popularity’! People are not resources and if you treat them so they will most definitely notice it & will not LIKE it. Your friends can make you things but they are not for you to talk to only when you need stuff.
3) Do not resent people for taking their time! Its a human being with an actual life behind the screen & no one can be expected to rush or stress about not being late about a fun time activity. They may be having problems irl, they may be distracted, they may have muse for other things and many other reasons. Do not take it personal, do not blame, rush or guilt trip them.
4) Do not confront people if they have unfollowed you! It is beyond uncomfortable for each side. Unless you are absolutely sure there has been a mistake or a glitch, do not ASK people why they have unfollowed you.
5) Do not like starter calls or plotting calls unless you actually intend on replying! People spend time & effort on those and it is disheartening beyond measure when they go unnoticed. If you think the starter is not SUITABLE or fit for you or your muse, instead of ignoring it altogether contact the owner of the blog!
6) Do not judge people about how they want to run their own blog! If someone is exclusive, private, selective or mutuals only, it is their decision and you should respect it as it is. Do not try to teach people what they should do about their own comfort zones.
7) Do not copy people’s work! Be it graphic related or writing. Do not make their efforts into nothing, be your own special snowflake!
8) Having a beautiful theme does not mean being a good blog and vice versa.
9) Do not compare muses! For yourself or others! That is meaningless and a tad rude. Everyone has a different understanding and a different interpretation.
10) Don’t be so angry! Not everything is a debate! Everyone can make mistakes, everyone can mess things up. Do not label people, do not hate, do not be so ready to attack. Nobody has to like anyone but everyone should at least have the decency to respect each other.
11) If you decide you are somehow not comfortable with someone or how they write their muse, do nothing else but unfollow them unless you wish to give positive criticism, even which can be displeasing if unwanted.
12) Remember that this a HOBBY, a fun time activity! Do not turn it into a stress factor, for yourself and the others!

i recently reached 300 followers ( i still don’t really know what you all are doing here, but i appreciate it so much, regardless of whether or not we’re mutuals ) & figured it was a good occasion for some sort of follower appreciation post. i made this account back in january & honestly never expected for so many of you to follow me ––– let alone actually ENJOY my portrayal of ruby, since there are so many wonderful renditions of her out there. i still get insecure about writing her sometimes, but i’ve loved every second of being here & you guys definitely make it worth the while. so, THANK YOU for sticking around.

who holds the umbrella when it rains: more than likely dean would insist on holding it, but knowing lydia she’ll probably have his arms wrapped around her from behind while they try and hurry to shuffle under the awning of her front door. she’d try and be all grumpy when the rain wets the ends of her waves, coming in from the sides, but it wouldn’t take long for her to slip into short little giggles. honestly i wouldn’t be surprised if the two of them just ditched the umbrella all together, whether its because they’re bickering like little kids on how to properly hold it to keep the rain out for both of them, or as some playfully bold move on one of their ends. always teasing.
who is the grumpiest in the morning: DEAN BEAN. despite the fact that i as a mun detest mornings, i can see lydia being radiantly active during them. she enjoys fresh sunlight, waking up and having plenty of time before afternoon hits. as soon as she wakes up she wouldn’t hesitate to curl and vine herself through each of his limbs and pepper kisses across his face to wake him up. she’d ignore his grumpy lil mumbles. on occasions where she knows he needs it, she may let him sleep, but honestly i wouldn’t count on it.
who worries more when the other is sick/hurt: dean. tbh i see him being a lot more panicky that something drastic is wrong when she might only have nothing more than a mere cold, whereas lydia is very level headed with sicknesses and injuries alike, given her digging into the medical field. she’d just roll her eyes at his paranoia, but she wouldn’t be able to help kissing him for it, whispering against his mouth that she’s fine. but she’d let him baby her however he needed to calm himself. she knows the amount of loss he’s suffered, so whatever she can do to assure him he’s stuck with her, she will.
who plays pranks on the other: both of these little shits. more than likely they’d branch out into a full on war. all i can imagine is mischievous little snickering and shrieks as as lydia sprints down the hall after pulling something on him, and him just barreling down after her and scooping her up onto his shoulder. she’ll do a lot of silly things to get his attention, especially if he’s drawn into some sort of paperwork or a case.
who is always the first to suggest cuddling on the sofa: dean. sometimes lydia will sprawl out with her head rested at the opposite end, but he’ll end up wrapping his hands around her ankle and tugging her til she cooperates to either come sit in his lap and give him kisses, or curl up in front of him so he can spoon her.
who insists on creating nicknames for the other: lydia forever. aside from the normal ‘ babe ‘ or ‘ baby ‘, she’d throw in some playful, warmly-hummed lil things like sugar bottom, and tbh probably deenie weenie until he gets frustrated enough to shut her up with kisses. moral of lydias behavior always: to win kisses.
who drools on the other when they’re asleep: probably dean. precious lil babe entwined around her from behind with his face buried into the crook of her neck, or maybe even at some point when she’s awake in the morning he’d curl up onto her chest and hug himself around her. lydia’s a near silent sleeper aside from her night terrors. she wouldn’t be grossed out, though, she’d just tease him for it.
who says ‘I love you’ first: lydia. she’d understand wholeheartedly ( this is huge, huge huge huge head cannon for her ) that those words might not be something she hears from dean, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t feel it for her. she’d whisper it against his mouth for the first time after they make love, interrupt him in the middle of him acting goofy or getting really into a topic she knows nothing about. fuck, she would love him so much. she wouldn’t say the words often, because she doesn’t want him to feel pressured to return it. but the way she says it, just, its an i love you, and it’s okay if you can’t tell me. i know. i know. i know. UwU
