The angel came to me in a fever hallucination, perched upon my bed as I returned from the bathroom.
How I look explaining that MCR are totally releasing new music because they have studio time booked and they've already played a new song multiple times they're just pretending it isn't new to trick us because they never want us to know their next move and that's why they released foundations out of nowhere because their whole band was built out of subverting expectations so of course they wouldn't announce that they're working on a new album but they absolutely are and they'll release it eventually and it'll be so good that no other music even matters anymore because they will always be the best band forever and ever and we just have to wait it out because they would never leave us again and

I don’t like knights in the “glorifying a military police force as symbols of power, wealth, and tradition” way. I like knights in the “cult of chivalry and psychological fallout of raising sons to die like their fathers for a king they’ll never meet” way but also in a “swords and armor symbolic of the heaviness and impermanence of manhood” way.
it is really hard to not have social anxiety when every social experience you have keeps reinforcing that “even if it seems like someone likes you and enjoys your company, they probably actually think something is wrong with you and never want to see you again” is a rational and accurate belief
And that’s on social anxiety largely being misdiagnosed blends of CPTSD/OCD/Autism
We are all alone in the dark, little boy.
at some point you have to realize that you actually have to read to understand the nuance of anything. we as a society are obsessed with summarization, likely as a result of the speed demanded by capital. from headlines to social media (twitter being especially egregious with the character limit), people take in fragments of knowledge and run with them, twisting their meaning into a kaleidoscope that dilutes the message into nothing. yes, brevity is good, but sometimes the message, even when communicated with utmost brevity, requires a 300 page book. sorry.
lovely story from a friend today.
Look, this post has been wildly more popular than I thought it deserved, apparently at least in part because "don't burden others; be independent" is far more ingrained in people than I realized. So here's the thing: society works when people help each other. Helping others gives people a chance to know each other, and gives them an investment in the people they help. Helping creates bonds. People enjoy helping, and you are doing a good by letting them help you if they so wish.
Offer help; accept help. You will be a part of creating a helping culture. Which, incidentally, weakens capitalism and the fractionation between people that benefits those who would use us.
Danhausen you are correct
