Shout-Out-Sunday 2-26-2017

Yo! What’s up everybody! Did you guys like the video intro? I think I might start doing that for every blog. Wild week at the SJC shop, we just dropped a bunch of new instock drums, a few Panic! At The Disco used tour kits (I want both of them), and a few new hand-painted Jay Weinberg snares! You guys have been killing it with the new drum covers, unboxing videos, and shout-outs to SJC! It really means a lot to see everything you guys post for/with SJC.

Check out how rad Bea Leighton’s rig is! We really dig when you show us your kit fully set up the way you like it! Post your rig-rundown in The Shed! We would love to see what you’re working with! http://www.sjcdrums.com/pages/theshed?p=%3F

Photo: Jenn Curtis

My dude Steven Garner is out on the road with Megosh! If these guys roll through your area, make sure you catch a show and say whats up to Steven!! Sorry for mis-pronouncing the band name in the video guys! haha my bad.

How about this tour! Pvris will be out with Muse and Thirty Seconds To Mars this summer! Justin Nace rolled through the SJC shop this week and he maaaayyyyybeeeee brought something rad for us to show you soon! Keep an eye out over the next few weeks.

Check out the new video from Brais Lomba and his band We Ride! I’ve been thinking about re-taking up skating, and this juts reinforces that.

My dude Charles Haynes is out with Ed Sheeran in the Uk. Did you happen to catch their perfomance at the Brit Awards? I’ve seen Ed Sheeran solo, and he’s awesome, but I want him to tour with this full-band so bad. Keep your fingers crossed that I someday get to post about that in this blog. Also, how rad is stormzy?! (non-SJC news....his new record is so sick.)

This week I had the pleasure of meeting Jackson Ledbetter and his dad Larry. Jackson just ordered a Tour Series kit, so him and Larry drove 8hrs to come check out the shop and pick it up! I love doing shop tours, it’s one of my favorite parts of my job, and these two guys were some of the best! It’s such a great thing to see a Dad so supportive of his sons dreams of drumming, and a son who is just an absolutely great dude. Thanks for being so awesome guys! The 60′s oyster wrapped snare looks fantastic with that Tour Series kit dude!!

Capsize dropped a new video for “Favorite Secret”! Make sure you catch these dudes on tour with Norma Jean this spring!!

Our bud Lee Runestad and the boys in I Prevail are out on tour right now!

All Time Low dropped a new single, announced a new record, and announced a new tour! We’re stoked. You’re stoked. This will be a party.

My homie Kyle Thompson hand-painted the SJC shield logo, and I’m all about this color scheme he went with! it’s rad that you guys take SJC and bring it to other parts of your life, not just behind the kit. This is so dope, I hope we make a shirt or a sticker in the future using this blue/red distressed vibe.

Evan Chapman & Square Peg Round Hole announced a tour! I’m so stoked to catch one of these gigs, these dudes are so insanely talented....maybe I’ll make it to two.

Panic! At The Disco just kicked off their spring headline tour. james and Emily went to the show in CT at Mohegan Sun on Friday night, judging by their Instagrams, it was a blast! I’m going to try and hit the MA show next weekend, if your going to be there, let me know and lets sing-a-long together. I’ll try and post some videos from this tour as they come out, until then, check out Dan’s new kit on our Instagram (@sjcdrums) now!

The worst part of this past week was Modern Baseball announcing a break. I’m so stoked for these guys to get some rest and get everything healthy again, but I’m a little selfishly bummed I wont get to see/hang with them at Boston Calling Festival. Go listen to MOBO. This band not only put out AMAZING records, but they also brought a whole new meaning to taking care of their fans. They put together a hotline to call at their shows if you see/have a problem, and they brought mental health to the fore-front of the music scene. I thank them, and i miss them already. Plus, what other band takes a photo with a Descendents shirt AND a Van Halen shirt right next to each other!

That’s whats up. Cheers. MOBO forever.

Shout-Out-Sunday 2-19-2017

Yo! Sorry it’s been a minute since the last blog! My bad. The Patriots won the Super Bowl, so that happened! My Bruins got a new head coach, and I was lucky enough to see Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls twice....all since my last blog.

Shout-Out to Josh Ruiz and his band Wineville, who just released their video for “Paris”.

Keep an eye out for Nicolas Espinosa’s band, Deaf Poets, to release their new record in April!

Carlos Barroso with his newest snare! I love this shell, look for it to be added to our shell-options soon!

My dude Ben Spoliansky ripped a headline gig with his band Shatterproof at the Summit Music Hall in Denver recently!

Give the new video from our boys Villes a spin! “Don’t You Worry” is a jam! Make sure you check out there record, “The Cure”.

Funeral Attire’s Frankie Hardy, sent us a rad video of them playing “Fractures”! If you get a chance to see this band, do not pass it up!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Michael Garret when he came up to the shop to pick up his new kit! It’s always great meeting more members of the SJC Family, and it’s even better when they send up the nicest emails!

“Hey Jason,I wanted to take a minute and thank you for all you did during the whole buying experience! Right from the first time I talked with you, I knew I was doing the right thing by becoming part of the SJC family. From pricing, to the customer service I received and of course the pickup process- it was all nothing short of phenomenal! The drums look amazing and sound even more amazing! Even though I'm not a "big name" drummer, the service and treatment I was given made me feel like I was. Hats off to you and the whole SJC crew for all that you did for me! I've already been bragging to people and will recommend ANYONE to experience what I did.Thank you again Jason! You guys rock! Here's how they lookRegards, Michael Garrett”

Thanks for this email, It really made all of our days.

Would it be a blog written by Ricky....without Bad Rabbits? Sheel and the dudes in BR just released their live video for “Stalker” off their newest record, American Nightmare. This was the first time an SJC artist recorded with the SJC-UFO drum! Needless to say, it’s a jam, and the UFO sounds better than we could have hoped for!

That’s whats up for this week! Cheers!

NAMM 2017 PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT - INTRODUCING FOUNDATION HARDWARE

Greetings from winter NAMM 2017! This is James, product manager for SJC. We are incredibly proud to introduce Foundation Hardware!

After many years of providing the highest quality drums to the SJC family, we are incredibly proud to introduce Foundation Hardware. After being on the road ourselves, listening to feedback from touring and studio professional drummers, we know that having a solid, roadworthy set of stands is the key to a quality drum rig. Our Foundation Hardware lineup is exactly that; the foundation for your drums and cymbals that you can trust.

With heavy-duty, double-braced leg construction, smooth adjustment points, and comfortable wingnuts, Foundation X stands are professional quality stands built to take on the rigors of touring day-in, day-out. In addition to the tried-and-true tripod base design, we also offer the Foundation Flatline snare, tom and cymbal stands with unique double-braced flat bases that channel a vintage look, with modern durability and making setup easier than ever. With Foundation Hardware, you’ll receive the same experience and support from SJC as you would buying drums. These stands and hardware will be available on sjcdrums.com as well as through select dealers across the globe. We are excited to finally bring our Foundation Hardware to life, offering stands and pedals built to compliment the quality of your SJC drums.

FOUNDATION X

Foundation X stands and pedals are made to withstand the needs of any drummer. Dual tier hi hat, snare and tom stands feature 1 ¼” and 1” tube diameters with a ¾” top tier on cymbal stands. Heavy-duty steel construction and exclusive design oversized rubber feet ensure maximum stability while cast hinged height adjustment systems with nylon inserts prevent damaging metal to metal contact. Smooth gearless cymbal tilters and snare basket ball joints give infinite adjustability. Hinged memory locks allow players to lock in their preferred positioning and make setting up easy. Stands also feature an ergonomic wingnut design with the Foundation “F” logo engraved in a non-slip insert to provide a comfortable grip with unmistakable style. Hi hat stands feature a solid stabilizer plate and smooth direct pull action. Bass pedals are equipped with stabilizer plates and responsive double-chain cam action. The pedalboard and beater positioning can be adjusted independently while smoked black dual surface acrylic SJC beaters round out the eye-catching Foundation Hardware lineup.

FOUNDATION FLATLINE

For those players looking for stands with a lower profile, easier setup or a vintage vibe, our Foundation Flatline snare, tom and cymbal stands feature heavy-duty double-braced flat bases with oversized feet to keep your stands in place. These stands can easily fit in places where traditional tripod base stands might be in the way and they are perfect for drummers looking to minimize the visual impact of their hardware setup. Hinged memory locks also help your flat-based legs stay in place without the fear of leg collapse when weight is applied. Using both Foundation x and Flatline stands can open up many options to maximize space usage.

FOUNDATION SHADOW

Whether you’re learning to play or you’re just a weekend warrior, the Foundation Shadow hardware pack will be perfect for you. Lighter in weight with a sleek black finish, these stands will turn heads while double-braced legs keep them anchored and solid. Ideal for the practice room or the garage band, the Foundation Shadow hardware is made for the intermediate or price conscious player.

Foundation hardware will be dropping soon for pre-orders on out website in the next couple weeks. Stay tuned on our socials and website. We are proud and excited to bring this next chapter of SJC to life.

Shout-Out-Sunday 1-8-2017

What up! Due to the holidays, it’s been a few weeks since the last blog! I hope you all had a great holiday season!

The SJC shop has been WILD with all of the prep for NAMM 2017, which you will all see more of in the coming weeks.

Shout-Out to my dude Peter Burk! I loved the classic look he went for with his kit and snare combo! Props for that crewneck style as well!

One of the best things about working with the SJC Family, is when you guys send us emails like this....

“Guys.... I am overjoyed and overwhelmed right now! I've been dreaming of this moment for 7 years since I had to let go of my last kit. That first kick on the pedal and that first rim shot can only be related by someone who has also received the amount of welcoming and support from SJC drums. I can't thank you enough! Last night I found myself walking by the room. Turning the light on for a quick glance, just to assure that this is all real. My one promise is that I will play these drums with as much passion as you all had building them. Thank you once again for everything. Love, Chris Laplante”

Shout-Out to Chris Laplante for making our day! These emails mean the world to everybody at SJC.

Shout-Out-Sunday 12-11-2016

Sup!? I hope you all had a super rad last week! With the holiday season in full-effect, the shop has been WILD! We have a lot of artist getting new kits, sending out a bunch of the new merch (those Olive snapbacks are my jam), and it feels like EVERYBODY is back on tour!

I want to start with sending a Happy Birthday to our homegirl Brittany Harrell!! If you haven’t check out Brittany’s youtube channel, you’re missing out! https://www.youtube.com/user/brittanyharrelldrums

It’s so rad seeing Wes Kleinknecht using an SJC kit while touring the world with Brian Fallon & The Crowes! If you haven’t listened to Brians recent solo record, GO DO IT NOW!

Seeing Branden Steineckert back in the studio can only mean one thing....new jams from Rancid! This picture proves that 2017 will be a blast! Cant wait to see what comes of this session!

Also, check out this gnarly photoshopped image of Branden done by the super talented Brad Hardy!

My dude Anthony Canal received his new kit this week! Give his band Crash Overcast a spin!....Shout out to that Set Your Goals poster!

How rad is that blue! Enjoy homie!

I met my new bud Nestor Matute earlier this week when he stopped in the shop to pick up his new kit! Not only was he an awesome dude to hang with for a little bit, but he shot Mike the nicest email! We really appreciate it dude! Enjoy that kit.

“To Mike and the SJC Crew,This last month i've received my Custom SJC snare and Full Custom Kit from you guys and couldn't be happier with how it came out. It sounds better than i've ever imagined. The guy who helped me with this was Jason Bohman. He helped turn my dream into reality and gave mer just what i wanted out of a snare. Before the snare even came out to Los Angeles, I ended up ordering a full custom kit because i felt so confident in how he spoke of the drums. I feel like a beast behind these drums and couldn't be more proud repping the SJC name.Thank you for all the work that was put into these amazing drums and give Jason a pat on the back for his great work”

I’ve already posted this video in this blog before, but I cant get this song out of my head! Shout-Out to our girl Kortney Grinwis and her new band Chapel!

Anthony Braun of the band Silverscape got his new kit this week! I loved seeing this kit in the shop, that classic look is always something that I’m drawn to! Enjoy the kit bud!

Shout-Out to Sheel and Bad Rabbits for taking home a Boston Music Award this week! It was rad meeting those guys this weekend, I can’t wait to see what they bring to the table in 2017!

That’s whats up, cheers!
