hi, im buny?

I'm Tea or Matcha! I'm an adult who likes a lot of things. My pronouns are he/they.

My interests kinda include:

  • Splatoon (Which I have a sideblog for here)
  • Neopets
  • Wings of Fire, Spyro, Dragons in general
  • RABBITS
  • Lancer (TTRPG)
  • ...And a bunch of other stuff I won't bother listing here.

I don't have a sideblog for art, I kind of just have a tag here. I haven't decided if I want to make a sideblog for it or not yet, because I wanna see if any actual art gallery sites rise from the ashes first.

Here's some other links:

If you wanna contact me for any reason:

& Mutuals can DM me for my discord!

We have all really lost the plot on what callouts are for

"Callouts are always good" <- reductive take, lacks an understanding of how callouts are abused to harass and harangue perceived malcontents

"Callouts are always bad" <- reductive take, ignores that the fundamental purpose of a callout is to promote community safety by pointing out dangerous patterns of behavior that threaten the marginalized in the community

So no you are not being persecuted by callout culture when a black person shares around your racist ass posts with your name on them or when a trans woman shares screenshots of vile transmisogynistic dms you've sent her. If you didn't want to be known for being a dickhead you shouldn't have been one.

But at the same time we have to recognize how, like with EVERYTHING ELSE, people in positions of (relative) power will weaponize those same tools to drive smear campaigns.

So yes you should be skeptical of callouts that cross your dashboard but no you shouldn't automatically assume it's a malicious witch-hunt either esp when it's as simple a post as "block [user x]. Here's why"

the secret to being a cool adult is to wear things that your younger self wanted to wear but couldn’t and to do things that your younger self wanted to do but couldnt

This is the kind of thing I’m talking about when I say that being an adult is better than being a teenager.

Like reality isn’t fun, no, and I don’t like responsibilities, but no one can tell me I can’t dress someway, eat something or do anything. I can do anywhere and do anything situational factors not withstanding.

this website is cuckoo bananas. for years i’ve been watching trans girls post “hey, have you considered that even though trans guys are obviously treated worse than cis guys, the limited male privilege that they do have access to means that they are taken more seriously, treated less dangerously & just respected more than trans women in most if not all circumstances” and everybody’s been going nuts like, calling us separatists, calling us “divisive” for even pointing out men in the trans community can be misogynistic etc.

and then today, i saw a pretty mild post from a trans guy saying “passing as a man is so weird. other men are treating me with more respect than they treat my girl friends in public now. i used to have to argue & cite 100 sources for anybody to listen to me, and now all i have a beard all i have do is say ‘hey maybe women should be treated better’ and everybody listens to me immediately”

….and then i go into the notes and there’s a bunch of transandrophobia bloggers saying “wow, you really opened my eyes… i never saw it this way before…” like am i going crazy??? am i the only one who sees the incredible irony here? maybe you guys… here’s a thought… should listen to women also?

the second craziest thing about it is scrolling through the notes and seeing how many pre-transition trans guys are saying “wow i can’t wait for this to happen to me too 😍” the patriarchy is “goals” for you king??? really??? sometimes i think transandrophobia truthers do actually believe that trans men benefit from the patriarchy; they’re just bitter that they don’t get “the full package”. it’s fucked up!

This actively happened in my lifetime, and I’m in my 30s. A lot of us experienced it in real time and no one stopped it. No one helped us.

When I was 16 we would hang out outside and inside the library. We ranged from a group of 20 to a group of 3-4 people on any given day, because us 16 year olds also hung out with whatever other kid was around the area. (Mostly younger siblings and then their friends.) We never did anything wrong, never mind illegal. We were never loud in the library and were always polite to the staff. We sometimes got a little loud outside on the street when there was some contest thing going on, but not very often. We mostly hung out and talked about stuff going on in our lives.

Then one day someone called the cops on us.

And the cops showed up all ready angry, then started yelling at us for doing nothing. They couldn’t even come up with a real reason to be there yelling at us, other than to demand to know if we were a ‘gang’. When one of my friends started crying, I turned to tell her that it would be ok. The cop grabbed me, screamed at me to not look away when he was talking to me, then demand I get in the cop car and go down to the station. It took almost an hour for my mother to find out where I was because I didn’t have a cellphone at the time and the cops had just fucking kidnapped me. For comforting a friend while they screamed at us. And you know what happened?

We never hung out like that again. None of us. We all got banned from the library for a year. Again, all of this for literally no reason. They told us we were ‘misbehaving’ for simply hanging around outside being kids. And then we had no where to go. Some of those kids were forced back into their abusive homes. I literally never saw half of them again. Ever. And I lived in that town for several years after that.

So, yeah. They just started kicking us out from the outside years ago and not a single adult or group of adults gave a shit.

maybe it's just because i spend my time scrounging around libraries and itch.io and such but i'm often bewildered whenever people talk about everything becoming the same or death of art or everyone being afraid to Get Weird with It. i promise people are still out there getting weird with it. the hegemonic mainstream art remains hegemonic and mainstream like usual. counterculture remains counterculture. as usual. interesting and somewhat off-putting zines cost a little more but the cost of living is pretty high right now, and i don't particularly mind giving an independent artist a few more bucks for their work

i think i just get confused by anything that sounds like 'this countercultural, challenging, or otherwise disruptive artistic sensibility isn't present in the most popular or mainstream corporate media'. did we expect it to? why are we trying to buy clothes at the soup store
